This department is a shining example of why we need a complete redo on policing in the US. Stop torturing victims and then making your taxpayers foot the $20 million bill.

All of my interactions with both Sutter Co. Sheriffs and Yuba City police have been cordial and respectful! This is hard and dangerous work for both the beat cop and leadership. They deserve our respect and support!

This review was overdue but finally decided to leave the feedback which I experienced a few days ago. Strong relationships of mutual trust between police agencies and the communities they serve are critical to maintaining public safety and effective policing. Police officials rely on the cooperation of community members to provide information about crime in their neighborhoods, and to work with the police to devise solutions to crime and disorder problems. We had some issues related to our office building and around the neighborhood which become a nuisance. Was a little hesitant to approach the 'YCPD', but on my neighbor's suggestion ( she is in the police volunteer force) I went to the YCPD office. The front window receptionist, after listening to my problem, assigned Officer TROY KOSKI to talk to me. I thought the officer will come and will take a second to talk to me, but to my surprise when he took me to the office room, and in a relaxed manner, he listen to the problem. He just asked me to sign some paperwork and assured me that he will take care of the problem. Very well mannered, gentle and polite. Yes, he surely took care of the problem as promised. Later on, I came to know that the officer I talked to was no one else but was a recipient of "OFFICER OF YEAR AWARD WINNER." I truly understand why he achieved this award. Thank you, Officer Troy Koski, including the YCPD.

I met an Officer under official business and he is Truly an inspiration TO me..... Currently I am having a rough go of it and have had many run ins with many, less than Savory Officers in Northern California. Who are Tarnishing it, Instead..However, Officer Kai makes The Badge Shine Again for Me and, many many others I'm sure of this.. once again. He is a Credit to your Department.

Today, I spoke to a wonderful person name Shirley in records, who works for the Police Deptment. She was very nice, and very thorough. It was nice to meet someone with a kind soul from the heart, who works for the police department. Good friends to retired (Marilyn Terry. She was great to talk to, and she knew most of my questions.Thank you Shirley for your abundance of help. ?Talatha

Out of all the police agencies in The Yuba-Sutter area, you are definitely the worst!! Your officers need to take a Constitutional course on how to follow the US Constitution, Esp on asking for the passenger's ID on a stop that is solely on the driver!! TREASON!! Your police department has nothing but treasonous Unconstitutionals working for it!!

Eight months and our children's perpetrator hasn't even been bought in for questioning. Even though we've been told repeatedly our children were found to be credible. This Dept is grossly ill prepared for anything related to child molestation. Cancelled an appointment with my Daughters because an officer had been shot at the fair and before that because of a stabbing. When are my children going to be heard???? Even the police chief and Sgt don't return calls.Thank you for completely eroding my children's faith and trust in the police. They are fearful and want to know why the police have let them down after telling them how much they believed them.UPDATE:It’s been almost two years since my two daughters molestation was bought to the Yuba City Police Dept. I actually had to contact a victim advocate group for our for our two daughters, to find out what was happening with our case. After lots of back and forth, it basically came down to, the assistant district attorney didn’t think he could win the case so we aren’t going to do another interview with your daughters. Even though our daughters had more information they didn’t want to hear it.I honestly believe this dept to be grossly ill prepared for anything relating to child abuse. If they had any understanding what so ever they wouldn’t have made empty promises nor would they have continued to ignore my oldest daughters calls wanting to know why they weren’t being heard. That just adds to the abuse, the abuser was right, nobody would believe them.

The place looks nice, but if you walk in to report a crime or anything, I have waited as long as 3 hours to talk to an officer for 2 minutes. They do offer help and are willing to give you information, but you have to ask for the help and be specific as to what result you are looking for. Most of the time I felt that they just want to get me out of the building as fast as possible with the least amount of interaction as they can provide. I recommend that if you need to file a police report, try online or maybe call a day ahead of to reserve a spot in the waiting room that has a total of 8 chairs. Place is still nice and I like their choice in floor tiles. Oh yeah...don’t be offended if they say you are “not a priority”, I was told this twice in one day.
