I dropped my dead dog off. The front desk person seemed a little overwhelmed on what to do.

Recently adopted a kitten from this place. There were a few issues. Keep in mind they do not release your animal to you until AFTER the spay/neuter surgery. First, after you adopt your animal they have a strange rule that no one (not even their new owner) can interact or hold the animal until after their surgery. In my case, I adopted my cat and they scheduled her neutering surgery three weeks out. I went to visit my cat after and they told me I could only pet her through the cage. To make matters worse the front desk women were quite rude. Of course I was very distraught since I paid the adoption fee and I’m not even allowed to hold my own pet.

Took a German Shepherd and Jack Russel mix there this morning that was found yesterday evening on the 99 south of Yuba City. Lady at the front desk named Sandy, I believe, was awfully rude and lacked the compassion one should have in her line of business. I wanted to sponsor the adoption for these two dogs, they do not allow that. So I asked if they would call me if no one claims them or adopts them and they are in danger of euthanasia, they would not allow that either. Then she openly told me that the place was full of German Shepherd's and "people dump them all the time" and the one I just took in would probably be euthanized.. There was one more small dog that I couldn't get when I picked up the other two, she seemed to not care and I had to walk back in to make her put a dispatch request for animal control to go back and look for it. I was already a blubbering mess with how little help this place was, she could have spared the sad details and rude demeanor. I wanted to turn around and walk right out after all of that, but since I admitted to finding them as strays, I legally could not leave with them. This place needs major reform. I am appalled and heart broken that I had to release these beautiful, sweet animals to this place.

The lady's that work here are extremely rude. My co-worker and I found two kittens at our work and called them. They said we could take them there and when I got there they were horrible. They treated me like trash and said the kittens are old enough to live on their own and would not take them. Worst place ever!

Very poor customer service, and the lady that answer the phone has no knowledge of the animal shelter. Didn’t answer any of questions and I was told to call for the supervisor.

I was under the impression that this was a no kill shelter. Took a puppy in that had been severly neglected and abandoned. They said that they would take care of the problems that he was having and as soon as he was old enough he would be up for adoption. There was a family waiting to adopt him but they kept saying he wasn't ready yet due to his age. Found out the other day that they put him and 5 other German Shepherds to sleep. Why would they do that after denying a guaranteed adoption? Absolutely heart breaking and so cruel. If you truly care for the lives of dogs and cats please don't take them there.

Honestly horrible! Me and my friend rescued five poor little stray kittens only just days old covered in fleas and took them to this shelter. The lady said that they only take cats that are sick or injured and that they would have to euthanize them. We were unsure if they were sick so when we told the lady that we weren't sure. And she said that if we give them to her that they'll have to euthanize those poor babies. She completely ignored the question if they could check if the kittens are sick.

they were so rude here would definitely not go back here again. i was called a thief because i had picked up a puppy on the side of a road and i kept him at my apartment for a few days no longer then a week and was unable to keep him because of my situation. she told me that i shouldn’t have picked him up because he could’ve been someone’s dog. HE WAS ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. It was an older white lady she was kinda chunky and when i first walked in she was rude from the beginning wouldn’t acknowledge me the other representative had to respond to me. just an over all 0/10.
