In the fall of 2021, my son and I joined the Friday mommy-and-me program at WPNS and it's been one of the highlights of our year. Teacher Karen is so kind and supportive with us newbie moms and has such a loving, gentle way with the kids. Every week, we are blown away by the number of creative play areas she has set up for the children to explore and enjoy. Over the course of the year, I've seen my son grow and develop in so many sweet ways, and WPNS has absolutely been a key part of that. The program has also helped me connect with other moms who are at the exact same stage as I am and who live in my community. WPNS has been such a positive experience and I'd recommend it to anyone.

If you had asked me 3 months ago, I would have given a great review, well except for the preK program (that's another story). Now, the preschool is in a place of major transition with teachers leaving and no director. Unfortunately the the board made sweeping decisions with little to no info given to the parents. Ultimately, we decided to pull my youngest son, forfeiting our deposit, due to the chaos. As a teacher myself, it was extremely disappointing to see how the director was seemingly pushed out without any explanation to the parent community.

My son started in the 2s class through PreK and my daughter just completed PreK starting from 2s (but with a break due to COVID). I would highly recommend this pre-school. The teachers are fun, patient and kind. They teach creativity and kindness, and basic academics that are so helpful when entering Kindergarten. My kids absorbed so many great lessons. We absolutely love the school. My kids enjoyed attending school and have fond memories of their teachers, activities and friends. My son loved to return with his little sister any time he had the opportunity. We have made long lasting relationships with other families due to the amazing community at this school. Do not be deterred by the co-op commitment. It is very manageable and quite enjoyable to participate in class time and school activities. (Note: this is coming from two full-time working parents!)

My daughter just finished the Three's Class at WPNS and it exceeded our expectations! Although we were hesitant to start preschool during the pandemic, the school had great protocols in place and the staff were all extremely diligent in keeping the facility clean/sanitized and promoting frequent hand washing. Also, the majority of each day was spent playing and learning outdoors. My daughter is much more reserved and cautious around new people, so I wasn't sure how the preschool experience would go. But to my surprise, first day she fell in love with the school and the teachers and looked forward to school each day. The teachers have a very gentle and nurturing approach with the children, and always encourage them to communicate their feelings and needs. They are great at evaluating each child's individual personality and help them accordingly. As I said, my daughter is particularly shy and reserved, but the teachers never pushed her to say or do things that were too far outside of her comfort level. They were so kind and patient! And by the end of the year my daughter was really opening up more to the teachers and kids. You can just see that the teachers genuinely love and care about their students. They go above and beyond creating fun and enriching activities for the children each day. My daughter loved that there was a new theme setup in class each week! Some of the class setups included a vet clinic, a post office, a fire station, a grocery store, a pumpkin patch, an ice cream shop, a train station, a rain forest and SO many more! Another great thing about WPNS is that it is a cooperative preschool. I truly enjoyed being able to help out in the classroom and watch my daughter grow and form relationships with her classmates and teachers. There is such a short window of time when you can be involved in your child's education in this way. Also, unlike a lot of other co-op preschools in the area, the parent responsibilities were not overwhelming. It was nice to be involved and get to know the teachers and spend time with other parents. WPNS also offers a summer camp, which my daughter is loving. We are signed up for the pre-k class next year and very much looking forward to it :)

Our son was in the 2s class this year with Teachers Karen, Alex and Kavitha. WPNS is just wonderful. The teachers create a warm, creative, safe and collaborative environment for kids to explore and have fun. We can't wait to return next year for the 3s class!

What a wonderful place to send your children! The teachers and director put so much love into each day for each child. Every week has a different theme and activities for the students to explore, create, and learn all while playing and having fun! Both of my children have a solid academic foundation and the skills needed to succeed in school and life! Thank you so much to all of our fabulous teachers, parents, director, and incredible students!

Our family loves this preschool so much! A few of the many highlights:- Great, knowledgeable, loving teachers- Teachers send notes to the families about the themes / plans for the week plus some light parenting tips which are so helpful- Parents can really decide how involved they want to be -- there's some required volunteering in the classroom but it's light (we were able to do this with two working parents) and parents are always welcome to visit the classroom- Very adorable art projects that my daughter loves to do!- Great outdoor space including a sandbox, water tables, a playground, and more- Fun, sweet school community events such as a Halloween party, pasta fundraiser, etc.- Teachers and Director are responsive to emails with any questions- Good "Lunch bunch" after school option if you'd like extra hours- A great location right next to the Woodside Library and Village Hub coffee shop (my favorite!)I'd highly recommend you check out a tour and see if it might be a good fit for your family!

I have been a part of the WPNS family for the past 6 yrs and I am not thrilled with how well my boys have thrived m, but also of the friendships I have made along the way. The teachers are diligent and kind, the programs are age appropriate and develop children absolutely ready for kinder and the families are all super supportive. I could go on and on but you really need to come check it out for yourself.

We just did the toddler class at WPNS and loved it. It was a great introduction to the idea/concept of school for our 1 year old daughter and a wonderful way for me to meet new people and gain another community. The teachers were great and the play space always fun and engaging. We are returning for the 2 year old class next year. Highly recommend.

We are so thankful that we found Woodside Parents' Nursery School. The teachers provide curriculum that keeps the children engaged and curious of their world. The indoor classrooms and outdoor space is filled with activities that are so creative and fun.

My son (almost 3 years old) attends WPNS 3x a week and absolutely LOVES it! Last year he attended the TU/TH class and is moving into the M/W/F class this fall. He is also attending Camp Woodsy this summer and is having a blast. He has met a lot of good friends there, and really enjoys the teachers and activities. The teaching staff really do create an environment of positive learning, caring, and fun!Our fellow parents are also great!I highly recommend WPNS!!!

My daughter has been at WPNS for two years and we're really happy there. The teachers are warm and energetic. The new director, Karen Trudell, is full of creative ideas. The other parents are friendly. With the shared duties and monthly parent meetings, you get to know each other quickly and form a little community, which is great because the parents can hang out with each other while the kids play.Another thing I like about WPNS is that we get all the benefits of a cooperative school, but the workload is lighter than at a lot of other co-ops. We call it co-op lite. Also, WPNS is starting a transitional kindergarten program for older 4s and young 5s kids. That ll be nice since my daughter is an October baby.

Our son loves WPNS. Last year he was in the T/Th class and it was so enjoyable to ask him at dinner those days what he did at school. His eyes would light up as he ran down the list of names of his friends and the activities they did that day from reading stories, playing outside in the sandbox and on the play structure, to arts and crafts. I think he names the entire class when talking about his friends. He also loves the teachers and has asked a number of times for us to invite them over for dinner. We are excited that he is enrolled for M/W/F next year and will also be enrolling our younger son in the Friday Toddler class as soon as he is eligible. The nice thing is he doesn't have to be away from his friends and teachers during the summer as he is at Camp Woodsy for the next 4 weeks and he is having such an amazing time.
