“We stopped here for a quick lunch on our ride through the state parks to Santa Cruz. Super grateful we did. The deli section in this trading post did NOT disappoint! I had the creole potato salad and the biggest tamale(chicken) I've ever had and both were good! Cool stop in the way to seemingly nowhere! Very friendly staff from the people working in the deli, to the person running the register for the trading post! Wish I'd taken pictures.”
“great local market that really makes you feel like you've teleported to Hawaii. i got a few snacks and some food items but can't wait to go back for more ? ?”
“Kathy and Kayla were really pleasant and knowledgable. I also love that Byrds is a certified California green business and are working to make our community more sustainable. As someone who cares about the environment, my health and the climate -this is my go to store”
“Amazing shopping environment . Has all sorts of fresh food. You can find pretty much anything there. The butcher shop has fresh meat every week. I love shopping there.”
“I visited a few farmer's markets when I came to the U.S., and they were great places where I could buy as many fresh organic vegetables as I needed. In addition to vegetables, you can taste homemade bread and food from each country. The food quality is also very good. If you happen to find a Farmer's market while traveling, it might be a good idea to stop by.”
“This TJs is the best one I've been to. It is very spacious on the inside and easy to get around without feeling crowded. They have a lot of clerks, which makes check out quickly. Beautiful flowers also ? ”
“Cream Cheese $1.98
I live in Half Moon Bay
Can't buy Cream Cheese
Anywhere here for under $4.50
Thank You TJ.....plus free bag!
Greatful Senior”
“I used to buy flowers in this store. They always had a lot and nice flowers. But my recent visit was very disappointing, they had only few and very bad flowers. Maybe because of hot weather I don’t know, but I hope it will change ?”

720 Menlo Ave, Menlo Park“TJ's is my convenient weekly go-to spot for all kinds of groceries. So much friendlier and fun than a massive super market.
LOVE their $1 greeting cards, gorgeous fresh plants and flowers, and wonderful produce. Also adore unexpected specialty items like ganache mini sheet cake, herb pizza dough, slice-and-cook polenta, and so much more!”
“I like Trader Joe's for some basics, including frozen penne arrabbiata, hash browns, and maple flavored poffertjes. I also like the fresh micro greens. Easy breakfast, lunch and dinners at a reasonable price.”
“such a great local market and i can walk there from my house! the great thing about the local market is that they carry many local brands, which helps our small local businesses. i especially love the selection of baked goods, pies, breads, scones, all from local bakers. they do carry most of the recognized name brand produce, dairy, cereals, etc...so even if you don't want to buy local, you can still buy the nationally branded items. this market is family-owned, and you can feel that small town, local mom and pop when you're shopping and checking out. you feel welcome, unlike the larger chain supermarkets. although i walk here, there is definitely lots of parking on site and on the street.”
“Can’t believe I found this place only recently after living in the Bay Area for a long time. It’s easy to miss because you are either busy driving down route 1, or, after a long curvy road and just can’t wait to hit the beach. This place is a great place to drop by - for a nice drink or bites (the best breakfast braid made by la Honda bakery, available only on Saturday and Sunday), or books from local authors, or even children’s book. They have amazing live band sessions too, it’s just a great place to hang out.”
“They make great Tritip and Brisket sandwiches (which i make a point of stopping by while in the area). Their craft beer selection is awesome, a plethora great beer that is freshly canned. ? They also carry a great selection of wine and hard liquor which makes this place unique.”
“If you're looking for freshest produce outside of a farmers market you go here. The people there are always nice and helpful, especially when you find yourself shuffling around during off peak hours. I see the same people and it's just a nice feeling. They aren't that big but they carry enough meats, cheeses, breads and eggs to keep a household ready for anything. I love this place.”
9AM - 6:30PM
770 Polhemus Rd, San Mateo“Locally owned, locally grown, great spot for rare finds like watermelon radishes and raw unfiltered honey. They also have peeled garlic, destemmed Brussel sprouts and packages of various nuts, which are great for snacking and picnics.”
9AM - 8PM
9 37th Ave, San Mateo“Small middle eastern grocery store specializing in a few items you wouldn't find at the other halal middle eastern markets in the area. No meat here just drinks and groceries.”
“I went to the market store for the first time they carry such fresh fruits and vegetables I also was impressed with their fresh meat I bought some steak so fresh and tender and many healthy items. I'm going to start getting my produce at the market very very satisfied ?”
“Literally my happy place. I look forward to shopping here and literally is often the highlight of my day because TJ's has all my favorite things and the employees are the nicest humans. It's easy to park on the street behind the store if you don't want to deal with the parking lot.”
“Very good store that has everything you need, love the customer service there. Always go and had no bad experience ever. I would give higher than 5 stars if I could.”
10AM - 11PM
2368 Clarke Ave, Palo Alto“Great family-owned business with a wide selection of food and drink items. Their ice cream freezers are always stocked up. I really enjoy the energy drink options.”
8AM - 10PM
3445 Alma St, Palo Alto“I was so surprised when this particular chain came into Palo Alto since so many people in PA tend to protest what they consider "discount" stores because they feel it's out of touch with the Palo Alto "brand. <insert eyetoll here>
We have lots of students with Stanford University and elderly people on fixed incomes; a store like this is very helpful to their budgets. The store takes snap EBT cards and I found out that you can buy starter vegetable plants for your garden and Snap will pay for it. I took this picture last weekend.
This location is a very nice store. It's clean and it has a really decent selection of many favorites that you can get at any grocery store, but at Grocery Outlet for a much better price.
Best, the store is small, easy to navigate for somebody with mobility issues to go through and the employees are friendly and helpful.”
7AM - 8PM
44 E 4th Ave, San Mateo“The picked foods in the jars and the produce is fantastic and reasonably priced. The dried fruits and nuts section is fantastic and very competitively priced. Pretty much everything else is overpriced in my opinion. If you go in and shop smart, this place is fantastic.”
“Close to home and so much good stuff! The market has a great selection of organic produce, the best bakery, and a wonderful selection of cheeses and dairy products. Also at the plaza a bagel factory run by an experienced and seasoned bagel maker. Get them hot throughout the day. You’ll also find orange Theory for high energy exercise. A famous chef Chinese restaurant, and a nail studio. Shop local!”
8AM - 10PM
1833 Broadway, Redwood City“Always an interesting selection and the prices are great.
Updating my review as per Google's algorithm request. Stop by just to see if there's anything interesting today. Walked out with five 90% cacao chocolate bars at about 25 each. The same ones that sell for or $4 at Lucky and Safeway. I really need to come here more often to see what I need instead of going to the major chains”
“Favorite store. Really good selection and superb quality. They even carry Hungarian vines, too. (Tokaji included.) Just to mention a few random things: amazing braided cheese, all sorts of salamis and cold cuts, extreme variety of delicious berry jams (red current is my favorite), wonderful tea selection, cookies, desserts - from so many countries...! And the prices are good, too. Thank you for making all these super yummy things available for us. ?”
9AM - 11PM
16 W 25th Ave, San Mateo“I went into the store looking for a great wine and found Lake Sonoma Cabernet at a very reasonable price. We absolutely enjoyed this wine and will definitely be back.”
“This seems like the best grocery store in San Mateo. There's a nice deli, and lots of fresh produce. It's mostly on the expensive side so I don't buy very much.”
“Fresh sushi made on site. The Maya in the butcher case looked amazing. Awesome drink selections on the back wall! Small store with a surprisingly big selection and super friendly staff. Ample parking, Wells Fargo, and a Starbucks in the same shopping center.”
“We were in the area and decided to stop at Bianchini's to order a sandwich and other already prepared food for lunch as well as buying some fresh fruit and vegetables. The sandwich and already prepared food was very good! We've been here many times and always enjoyed shopping in this smaller market.”
“Very good deli sandwiches!! I grew up coming to Roberts market as a kid and it's still the same... they always have made me a great sandwich and the only downfall as you have to take a number sometimes there is a long wait... I highly recommend!!!”
