World's Worst Bank After 5 years of on time mortgage payments, I was rewarded with an increased rate from 3.9% to 6.3% mortgage rate. To compound the issue, they increased the prepayment penalty from 1% to 5%. When I complained about the huge increase, they told me that if I moved all my accounts to Umpqua Bank that they "may" decrease the amount of the increase. Absolutely disgusting and predatory business practices. The federal authorities should shut them down. We moved our business to another lender and refuse to ever do business with them again. I agree with Ryan M. and would not have even given them 1 star.

So it was my first time I went to this bank. My dad wanted me to open an account with my mom existed account so I went in. Teller at the front desk asked me what I need help with so I told her and she told me to sit down b/c the lady who was suppose to help me was helping someone else and that's fine. I waited for 35 minutes and after that lady who was in her high heels with her damn attitude went to the teller and asked her like I could hear her. I was sit g right there. She told her "is this girl waiting for me? How old is she to open an account? Well I don't have time now I have to go home, tell her to come back tomorrow". Well that is so unprofessional. So the teller came to me with the papers and told me to fill it up and they'll call me tomorrow for my signature. After that the same lady in high heels blond hair went helping other people who came after me. WTH, she had time to help them what about me who was waiting there for her for 35 minutes. Her attitude was like oh my gosh...I ended up closing my account and got whatever the money I had in that account. I work with many other banks but never had to deal with that kind of negligence. This is so unprofessional. Amen

Umpqua is great. All the tellers are friendly and speedy with transactions, no hidden fees on accounts, and the lines aren't long at this branch. I've had my debit card numbers stolen twice and their fraud department notified me within an hour of unusual activity both times. I haven't had any bad experience with this bank in 15+ years.

I apparently had to give at minimum one star, but that's too high. I stopped by their atm after hours to draw out some cash and their machine had trouble spitting out my card so the machine took it. I call the next day to talk about returning my card and they destroyed it the moment they recovered the card. This move is void of any logic. Not even waiting an hour before destroying a card makes sense because nobody would ever return to the bank to retrieve their card??? I'll never consider banking at a bank with such a boneheaded practice. What other nonsense policies do they deploy? I'm passing on this bank and you should too.

Hate eyes from the African American worker and worse. Only Sylvia and Megan know what they're doing. Megan was transferred. Great cookies though and once they had lunch, but utilize at your own risk.
