Does Home Depot even bother trying to train their front line employees anymore? I recently inquired about price matching Walmart for an item that was $12 more at Home Depot. Upon inquiry, the cashier made a blank stare she says "I don't get many requests to price match". (If I was supposed to be embarrassed for asking them to honor their own policy I wasn't) She reluctantly got on the phone to ask a supervisor if Home Depot has price matching. In the end the price match was honored but not the additional 10% mentioned in the terms. I let them keep their 10%, maybe it can be put toward an employee training fund. One star for having what I needed and second for at least having a process to enable the staff to muddle through the transaction.

I was at the Woodland Home Depot on Sunday, 7/23/2023 @ 3:30 PM and found this store to be the worst managed Home Depot I have ever been in. Corporate management needs to take a long hard look at this store and make needed changes, such as firing the current management and employees that simply can't, or won't do their jobs.I had one item to pay for and the self service area was busy with a line of customers, but the cashier area had only one customer being helped, so I was second in line and thought I would be helped very soon, WRONG! The ONE and only cashier on duty on a busy weekend, could not figure out the numbers on the only item the customer was trying to purchase. She was entering numbers repeatedly in her computer as the customer line grew ever longer. A second cashier should have been called, but wasn't. She finally made some mistake that froze her computer. She then called over to a calorically challenged blond woman that seemed to be in charge of the self serve area, asking for help. The dyed blond haired woman couldn't unfreeze the computer and ended up, after way too long, taking the incompetent cashier to another computer. Now, after logging on to this computer, the incompetent cashier began to enter numbers again and again. Still, after all this waiting and the line backing up more and more, NO additional cashier was called. ???? I looked over at the PRO area as two employees there were talking and laughing, amusing themselves, but not working and a young woman looking bored, sitting at a computer with a blank screen. My time in line, before I was finally helped was, over 25 minutes!

I want to give a huge, sincere thank you to Gino and Adam. I've had a heck of a week in the repair dept at my house. The water heater broke (beyond my scope) and then my kitchen sink plumbing all pretty much failed and I I had nooo idea the name of the parts I needed or really anything about DIY plumbing. Figured it would take multiple trips to the hardware store to get it right. I was going to go to Ace because it's closer to my house and their staff is knowledgeable. They were closed so I decided to go to THD and I was sure that I would look down the plumbing isle and black out (promptly did black out). That was until the friendliest associate Gino approached me because I was a deer in headlights. Gino went above and beyond to help me. I went through my application, showed him pictures of my set up. He continued to hand select everything I needed and showed me how the gaskets and washers worked and where I would need to apply plumbers putty and plumbers tape. He put the entire set up together for me and didn't let me leave until I fully understood. He had Adam come and help him remove some nuts that were stuck in my tee fitting. Then Adam came to find me on my way out and brought me two suggestions for cutting pipe. I just went to say thank you to Gino and Adam for the exceptional help. I was able to fully fix my kitchen sink last night and now have a fully functional kitchen. To say I'm relieved is an understatement.

For buying your own project stuff HD is great. DO NOT however, use them for a kitchen remodel. What a total 3 ring circus. The designer lady Becki was very quick to design as well as slide in several hundreds of dollars overcharging. The installer is a constant NO-SHOW. Ive had months emailing and calling trying to get my tiny project done. One wall im a 12 ft galley kitchen consisting of cabinets, and counter top. 8 months in still not done. After overcharging, Becki then ordered the wrong items, which I told her were wrong. She insisted they were right, sent the B string installer who did show up and told me they were wrong! All of this taking place after months of back and forth. Total nightmare not worth your time or money!!!

I don't recommend this store at all. Especially when you are buying an appliance they never go through the specifications about the warranty with the store. I bought a dryer there back in 12/19/22 and never worked I called the store and they told me that the 48 hr. Window had passed and that the manufacturer was responsible at this point. The manufacturer came out and inspected and said it was defective. I had to go into the store personally because nobody was answering my calls. The store never gave me an answer when I was supposed to have my new dryer at that point they wanted me to wait again and have them inspected once again!!! For what reason who knows. I asked for a refund and it took them almost a week to approve it. Up to now I still haven't had my money back into my card. Is been over a month without a dryer. Definitely NOT buying there again.

There aren't many redeeming qualities about this particular Home Depot. If you're there for the plant section, good luck finding what you need. The bags of soil I found were all scratched up, punctured, and there were ants crawling all over it. The seed display was haphazard and didn't have the ones I wanted. I basically gave up all together on the plant project I had in mind because I couldn't find the supplies, or I did and they weren't worth the money. That's right, even dirt wasn't cheap enough for what I found. Some advice for parents- don't get your kids Home Depot gift cards as a move-in present. If you buy something online with the gift card and then decide to return it in store, they give you back the money as in-store credit so you can't use it online anymore. And at a store like this where nothing is ever stocked, it gets to be impossible to use. THEN they attach a name on the card so you can only use it if there is a certain person present. So my card I guess got tacked onto my mom and now I have a gift card I literally can't use unless my mom is there?? Come on. Save yourself the trouble and just buy things with your credit card so you don't get stuck with in-store credit. It's literally the most convoluted system ever and I hope Home Depot fixes it, but I guess they like stealing the gift money. I'd give one star but I'll give an extra star for the best employee I've ever found in a Home Depot. Pretty sure this kitty was a manager (pictured).

This home depot garden center is the worst I've ever been to. I picked up 4 rolls of sod at the Yuba City store and the next day decided I needed 4 more. Since the Yuba City store only had a few left the day before, I went to the Woodland store instead. When I got there I found the garden center access gates are all locked and there are no cashiers stationed in the garden center anymore. I walked ALL THE WAY from there into the store and back again, finally found a place I could check out, told them what I wanted, and paid $34+. I picked up the four rolls (rolled up as all sod is) and put it in my trunk, drove home another 35 miles (70 miles wasted total with these gas prices), only to discover when I got home and unrolled the sod it was rotten. Black and slimy and nothing green. Totally unuseable. I called the Yuba City store to see if I could return them there so I could also pick up four good ones if they still had them and was told no, I have to return them to the store I bought them at (that's in contrast to Lowes where you can not only return things to any store, but return them if they die for any reason for up to a year). The Yuba City store staff left me waiting on hold until I called back and the "manager" seemed confused because she told them to tell me no but they never did. We went back and forth asking about why and finally I called her exactly what she is, which is a word I don't use for any women ever, but this person wasn't even human. Same unprofessionalism when I called the Woodland store and told them what happened and that it wasn't even worth the gas of driving another 70 miles to return this. I have to either eat the $34 (plus gas) or get my credit card company to stop the charge. The point is. Home Depot sucks. You know and it and I know it. But now I know they also don't care. Contacting Home Depot about this on Facebook? No response. Call them (once you can find the number)? Why bother. They have messed up in so many ways over the years almost all my business goes to Lowes by now. I won't miss them after this. This complete operation is run by monsters. No common sense. No customer loyalty. No help when you need it. Won't deliver 25 miles from their store but Lowes right across the street in Yuba City does (and so I bought my refrigerator from them instead and they matched Home Depot's price and were HELPFUL AND CHEERFUL AND FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL). Home Depot needs new management at the very top because what's on the floor is a bunch of of uncaring, unfeeling, monstrous assholes who couldn't even get and sustain a job working drive-thru.

While waiting in line to check out in the garden center on March 27, 2022 I witnessed an employee harass and belittle a customer in regards to utilizing his veterans discount. Other customers began to chime in about how inconsiderate the customer was being for holding the line up. I voiced my concern for the horrific customer service and bullying I witnessed; and the hostile employee threatened to not allow me to purchase some materials. Although I didn't get the employees name, she did say she was a manager.

Crappy service. It's impossible to get help. Mainly for contractors only. Not worth one star but couldn't give 1/2 star.

Home Depot should have -10 rating available. They do not deserve a star rating. Many times my husband gets the runaround when he asks for Veterans Discount. You people wont even acknowledge a California Drivers Lic with Veteran on the card. You wouldnt accept his Card he was issued when he finished his time in the service. You balked at it. He now gets it approved on his Drivers Lic and that isnt good enough. Now you need an app! He does not use internet. Your Company is very anti-veteran. He has no problem at other hardware stores. We are not going to do any business with any Home Depot store from now on. We want our account closed!

This is the Yolo County Policy on masks: "Face coverings are required for everyone in indoor public spaces regardless of vaccination status in Yolo County." On 1/29/22, three employees and one manager shared with me that Home Depot Woodland is not enforcing this policy. As I shopped, I came upon four customers unmasked in close proximity to me and that I needed to actively avoid. Two of the four were being helped, and so in very close proximity for a period of time with HomeDepot employees. Employees shouldn't have to serve people who expect assistance but won't extend a basic courtesy to those serving them. One older gentleman without a mask tried to get one at the south entrance mask/sanitation station, but there weren't any in the box and so he proceeded into the store. It should be the case that an elderly person who wants to wear a mask can get one. Yolo County's dashboard for Community Transmission is: HIGH. No law in CA prevents HD from acting to protect its paying customers and employees from those who don't want to help end the pandemic. I'll keep shopping on Amazon. Sorry HD, you lost me.

I mean, it's Home Depot. My main gripe is that it can often seem like floor employees are avoiding you. I hate having to hunt down sales associates. That said, it's much easier to just use the app and wait curbside.

My husband went in to purchase a shop-vac today and was followed around by one lady and then when he went to check out at the self check out and done ringing up his items and a young lady comes zooming over from another register and loudly says "don't forgot to scan those items, DONT forget to get thosseee"; then my husband advised her that he did scan the items and showed her the monitor/screen, she then walks away without saying a word or apologizing. The same associate waited for my husband to walk away and then checked to see on his monitor what items he scanned, didn't even wait for him to leave the store. I called and spoke with the manager on duty Ashley and explained the situation to her and she didn't have much to say other than she will talk to her team. I will not continue taking our business to a place that treats you like this. Our account with them will be canceled.

This Home Depot in Woodland is not as busy as those in Sacramento. I'm here to pick up an online order item I needed it right away but it was out of stock at all the stores in Sacramento. The store is very clean and seems very organized. The employee at customer service is nice and very respectful. One thing I like at this store is the online store pick-up items are in the computer touched screen controlled lockboxes outside of the store if the sizes are fit in the boxes. Make it very convenient for the online order pick up. One of the problems I have is not related to the store. But both Google and Apple navigation system is lead me to the back of the building. But this Home Depot has blocked the driveway between the front and back parking lot. I have to drive my car for a big circle back to the main street before I can get into the front parking lot with the customer entrance! Very inconvenient!

I'm not the type of person that has high expectations when it comes to customer service nor am I a hard person to please, yet somehow this place still disappoints me....like I get it....working on a minimum wage sucks, but it's something most of us have done at one point or another in our lives, especially when we were younger. Let me start off by saying that this review is directed at this individual Home Depot and the issue lays almost exclusively with the younger employees here; also, I'm a young man below the age of 30, so it's not like I'm doing one of those "the youth these days" type rants. With that said, the younger employees at this place are UNBELIEVABLE, in fact it's actually quite impressive how they can act the way they do and not get fired. Typically I make a trip to this Home Depot about once a week (out of necessity) but lately it's been multiple times a week for a home improvement project. The younger employees talk about inappropriate crap within ear's shot of customers, they walk around on their cell phones CONSTANTLY, and attempt to avoid you when you appear to need help....they do this by avoiding aisles with customers and do an about-face when they see you as they come around the corner of the aisle's end (I've seen this happen SO often). When you ACTUALLY do get one of them to help you, (USUALLY by speed walking towards them as they are walking away) they act SUPER inconvenienced and annoyed and they don't even try to make an attempt to hide it. There are a few noticeable exceptions, not every young person that works here is bad, the young woman in the fastener aisle is always working hard and I've seen her go out of her way to help people as well as help me multiple times. The younger employees in the Gardening section are likewise pretty good. But for the most part it's a total ****show here, I get that it's hard to hold onto employees during this whole COVID thing, but these managers really need to have a chat with their younger employees that they oversee. What a joke
