Emil's has been around for a long long time. They are very knowledgeable in the industry. I got my first pair of boots here when I was 18 they lasted 10 years. I recently went in and got my second pair. It's a small mom n pop shop so they took their time to really get me fitted

Phone isn't answered and voicemail box is full. Went by the store and found it closed during regular business hours with a sign on the door saying they weren't taking any more shoe repair jobs until they get their backlog caught up... but no estimated date of resumption of work. I'd say they're effectively closed until further notice.

I had a tall order because maybe I'm tall! That being said I'm new to Woodland after moving from Fairfield. I did a quick web search and found Emil's. I gave a jingle and staff acknowledged they were quite behind given the shoe repair locations in the surrounding areas had all recently closed. Staff (apparently) told me to call back in two weeks but I heard "bring them in in two weeks"! OOPS! I arrived on scene and felt right at home coming from Kings Shoe Repair in Fairfield (another great place but too far to drive now that I'm relocated!)! I told the staff I had called a couple weeks ago and was told to bring in my order in a couple weeks, so here I am.... Staff called me on my memory and responded "I remember talking with you. I remember telling you to call back in a couple weeks because we are really behind". Oopsie! We chatted, I showed them my order/requests and although my requests were a little out of the ordinary and special/complicated....they accepted my order!! I didn't have to wait long. They called and left me a voice mail letting me know the items were ready and I even got to see everything before picking up and paying. Talk about great prices. I am confident they gave me a New To Woodland Deal and I'm also confident I found a new spot wherein all my needs are met. In real life I prefer only to tip a hairstylist, a tattoo artist and NOW Emil's staff. Funny kind staff....A professional, local business....Good prices...Super accessible and easy to find...Accommodating hours of operation...Zero Limits, these guys!! They can do it all!!! Leathersmithing at its finest

This is an awesome old-school shoe store in downtown historic woodland. They have a great selection of work boots like Red Wing and danner, plus they do on-site shoe and boot repairs, including relsoles with high-quality vibram soles. I've brought at least 6 pairs of redwing 411's and 914's in for resoles and am always happy with the quality of work and longevity of the soles.

I brought in a pair of Birkenstocks that needed the bottom portion repaired due to having them for years. I hike in these sandals, and the sole was super worn down. They were able to replace a portion of the sole that needed replacing vs replacing the whole thing when the rest of my sole could use some more miles. Super nice, flexible, business. The staff was friendly, and I will be coming back and recommending them to my friends!

I can't get into this place to save my life.... Brought my shoes in three times from Davis they said "come back in two weeks"... I did and they said it again and again! I called today and the lady was so rude when I asked when they could possible be available she said she had no idea! I give up.... going to 912 J st in Sacramento KS complete shoe repair. I call and asked them if they could take my shoes for repair and the owner laughed and said "of course this is my business!" I guess I was just used to being turned away! I guess Emil's just doesn't know how to have a business!

Just called to see if they were open for shoe repair-- rude gentleman in the phone said they "have a pile and it's not getting any smaller". I told him there was no rush could I just drop shoes off (made an hour round trip for this) and he said "you're not getting it.... The pile isn't getting any smaller". Wasnt sure if that was a yes or not to dropping off-- he hung up on me. That's some customer service.

Prices are good service is great and the wait time wasn't bad at all. I would definitely go back to him with the rest of my shoes and my wife shoes she's very particular and they did a good job on the heels.

I needed to have some maintenance at 1000 miles on my Lectric bike and Bill was excellent. Took me right in, checked bearings, made brake and derailer adjustments, shared lots of helpful information as well all while handling other customers with chain off, and shoes needing adjustment .. selling products etc.. I took my bike home with me and it rides like a well oiled, ( and quiet), machine now. If I could give them six stars I would. I traveled out of my way to receive superior service.

There is no possible way that this store can be rated so high. I've had a pair of shoes for stretching for 3 weeks and after 2 phone calls and long conversations, he had no idea when they will be stretched. According to him they can't multi-task and can only do one thing at a time. I can't be the only one that has had a problem.

Ruined a pair of boots that needed a heel replaced. Didn't have the right size so he grounded an over size down on both and put them on crooked. Never ever let them work on your boots.

This store is open. It's ran with very few employees, sometimes maybe only Ivan, the owner, might be there and can't answer the phone while on the machines. Emil's was a little disorganized, but they are implementing new systems for organization and would love to earn your business. This place was something really special in its heyday, but I bet if you ask most locals, this store is still something really special. And always looking for quality leather workers. Tell Ivan I sent you! Also the prices are really low for quality repair services and cash is better here than card. Come check out the antique register and jukebox and support your local economy.

Emil's does really great work - and for very affordable prices! I live in Los Angeles but whenever I visit my family in the area, I bring shoes to Emil's to be fixed. Resoling, polishing, repairs, even hunting down the right laces for a pair of shoes... they do it all so well! And the shop is charming - not a lot of places like it.

I took a pair of vintage lace-up boots and a pair of vintage shoes for simple repairs, and was told they would be ready in less than a week. After 2-3 weeks I went in and the repair person I originally dealt with was no longer there and the new person could not find the shoes. They were finally located and the apologetic rep said they would be ready next day. Two days later a sign in the window said Closed Until Further Notice, which concerned me because I still didn't have the shoes. A week or so later I went back in happy to see they were open - no repairs made and one pair of shoes could not be located. Another week passed, so today I went back in and retrieved the unrepaired boots- the shoes are apparently lost. So frustrating!!!
