Mary (Mari) is the best hair stylist that I have allowed to do my hair. She is an excellent colorist and my hair never gets brittle or breaks off with her deep conditioning treatments. Love her!!!

Salon Republic probably doesn't know the employ a shyster and a thief like Johnita Scott aka NITA. She makes us look bad as black people. I had The Misfortune of Being referred to her by a member of my church. I told her I was pressed for time and what I wanted and didn't have time for a consultation. We talked on the phone and I showed her pictures of my hair instead. I told her I wanted human hair. I sent her $100. She purchased artificial mixed hair that was cheaper and tried to pocket the rest of the money. Never producing receipts. When I called her out on the hair not being 100% human, she went back to the salon and purchased human hair and sent me pictures. I have never done micro braids couldn't judge the amount that she purchased. My appointment was for 7:00 p.m. she didn't start me until 8:30. She began to braid micro braid my hair. She had two bundles of Afro kinky hair Betsy claimed she purchased from a place called his and hers hair . She claimed it cost her $100 anyway when I check the website the price was $21 a bundle and up to $38 a bundle.By 3:00 a.m. and halfway done, she announced she did notwant to finish my hair. I know when I smelled weed on her I should have gotten up and left. I had to insist she finish. It was then she admitted that she didn't buy enough hair. She was turning the whole appointment into a nightmare that was crafted to rip me off by messing my hair up deliberately and then trying to get me to come back and charge me more to fix it. By 7:30 that morning she finished by using supplemental hair she had at the salon. She wet the hair for styling but didn't want to blow dry it. The hair smelled like a wet dog and I had to insist she dry my hair. By the time I got home that night pieces of the hair were falling out all over the place. She charged me $1,300 and then sent me text messages saying that all of the mishaps were my fault. She is a nightmare. Do not come to the salon if they keep people like her there you can guarantee you're going to go through the same nightmare I did. I'm pretty sure this is the salon Republic that's inside of the mall. She told me to bring her cash. She had me sit outside in the parking lot area waiting for her to open a side door to let me in. There was strange guys outside. I'm so happy I didn't bring cash I might have gotten mugged out there. People like her should know life is a circle. What you do to other people you get it back in ways that you never dreamed could happen. Do not patronize salon Republic apparently they dragged in and do business with anyone as long as the rent can be paid.Services: Dreadlocks

I wish i could say the atmosphere and employees were amazing and kind but it was everything but that... I came in asking about the booths to rent out and whatever...these two young ladies close to MY AGE 20s maybe? it was around 10am/11am and i seemed to interrupt their work ( talking to each other) and was basically shoo'ed off like i wasn't important if i didn't have an appointment. I simply came into ask about their suits/studios and other info. They definitely based their attitude off my appearance..like i said they were about the same age....As someone looking for rental studios/suits definitely check out your front desk people because it can really make or break a reputation of a salon... I wish i could say better things.. I enjoyed the location just not the people in the work space.. Salon republic thank you for letting me visit and thank for dismissing me as well.

Okay, this place is a little tricky to get to the first time, but it's worth it. There's a parking garage and the Salon validates, so I only ended up paying $2.00. That was a relief! I went there because my hairdresser Gia just moved in to this address. It was a new experience for me. I'm somewhat sensitive to the noise and crowds, so getting my hair done has always been a challenge. I usually am very uncomfortable at salons. This place is serene. She has her own room! Gia is one of the most talented hairdressers I've been to. She does amazing color, and I love my haircut! I leave feeling years younger, just because my hair looks like it did in my twenties ( I'm well past my 20's so that's a miracle)! Once you know the routine you will be totally blessed by this sweet experience, and your hair will look gorgeous!

I was getting my nails done by Timmy. I never had an issue with his work but this last time he did an awful job. They were all cracking and breaking within a few days of getting them done. Two of them lifted my real nail and caused them to bleed. I messaged him and he ignored my messages and then proceeded to blocking me. Very unprofessional of him...

Masey Cheveux did my hair and I had a terrible experience :( I wanted to go fully blonde but she refused to do my roots unless I paid her an additional $300, totaling up to $600 for one session. When I told her I can’t afford it she told me that she “didn’t feel comfortable” finishing the work unless I paid her. She did NOT mention this during the $100 nonrefundable down payment and kept changing her story, saying that my hair would fall out of my roots were bleached but she could do it for me for $600. It was a total scam. She was really mean in a lot of instances, telling me that I was “too young” to understand anything and left my hair with uneven 3-inch long dark roots. She also posted pictures of me on her Instagram without my consent and was yelling at me on the phone when I asked her to take them down. I would never recommend her work but I wish her all the best in her life even though she doesn’t seem like she’s all the way there.

Didn't want to have to write this but I do feel like it's the right thing to do to save others money. I found this Salon Republic on Yelp and ended up doing a lot of research on stylists here and came across Adriana Ortiz aka AGstudios. I came to get a brown baylage done. I showed her pictures of exactly what I wanted. I left the salon with a color I felt okay with, but within the first wash, all of the toner washed out and I had yellow highlights. For paying $600, I didn't feel right about this. I contacted her to let her know about the toner and I ended up not hearing from her all weekend. In this same time, she was posting videos of herself partying on her Instagram. I totally understand having a personal life outside of work, but to be posting on the same Instagram you use for work and clients is just showing clients you have been on your phone for days without responding. Finally after triple texting her, she responded to come in for another toner. I went in, the hair was toned beautifully, just to wash out again after the first wash. Of course I contacted her again which was days ago and haven't heard from her since. I even asked if she could just recommend a product that would help tone my hair rather than asking to go in for a third time. It's been days, and with more partying posts, I'm just gonna take the L of the $600 I spent. She was nice, but unfortunately her customer service skills didn't reflect the price she charges at all.

My review is specifically about the stylist who advertisers herself on social media as "Brinaraehair" So I believe her name is Brina Rae, Anyways I just felt it necessary to voice my experience with her via messages about a inquiry to start the process on lightening my hair. First and foremost I respect the prices she gave me. I mentioned I have had dyed my hair black previously 6 months ago, and that it was very faded. Her reply was that she charges $350, fir a "BOX DYE COLOR CORRECTION " I never said anything about having box dye in my hair. In fact I am a licensed cosmetologist of over 10 years, I use nothing but Redken shades on my hair which is purchased at salon centric, and is not a permanent hair color, and is actually very hydrating and considered a color gloss at many salons. My hair is healthy, it's just dark. So I then explained to her that I never have used box dye on my hair, I even use Kevin Murphy shampoo and conditioner, I don't buy any grocery store shampoo or box dye hair color. So I was confused when receiving my quote it was specified for a " Box dye" color correction. After explaining to her that I did not use any boy dye, her response was " Well regardless it's still $350 for dark hair" So I told her I was interested in highlights, just a chocolate brown tone, not blonde, noting that will be lightened too much. As a high stylist I know that it could be achieved without calling this a box dye color correction. So went on to say "highlights" would still be $350, PLUS $50 to blow dry the hair. Again I appreciate her hustle, and I am respectful of all stylist and the prices. But what she was claiming didn't even apply to me, because I never have done box dye, and I didn't have extreme high expectations to go from black to blonde, so it wasn't a color correction type of job, at all! The reason I felt complied to write this review was mostly because she said I would leave the salon with WET hair unless paying $50 to blow dry it. Call me crazy, but if somebody is paying you $350 + to get there hair done, a basic blow dry should definitely be included. I would never feel okay with charging any of my clients an additional $50, and I would never assume that just because somebody has dark hair that they have been using box dye products. I'm not sure how much experience she has, but her consultation was unprofessional. No, I'm not looking to get my hair done for cheap, and I do believe that you get what you pay for. But there's also a fine line between " getting what you pay for," and taking advantage of people for money. I won't be going to a salon where I am charged $50! To blow dry my new color. Thank you.
