This place has the worst customer service ever. The workers all sit and chat, never ask if you need help and the alleged supervisor (THE YOUNGER, BALD, THIN, WHITE GUY) is disgustingly rude. He talks down to customers, literally refuses to help and has no clue what he is doing. He acts like he is horribly miserable. Then he should find another job or go to college. As everybody knows, how a place is operated starts from the top. So the actual manager at this store must be a disaster. The district manager isn't any good either, along w/ their assistant district manager. If you file a complaint, they will have their phone rep follow up w/ you, not their actual manager at any level and make excuses for the poor behavior of their workers or supervisor. This is a nice store, but spend your money somewhere else. I have informed every rescue that we support and donate money to, if they spend money here we can no longer make monetary donations to them. They will not be doing business with Pet Food Express. Check the negative reviews, don't be fooled by all the positive fake ones.

girl at front counter was extremely rude and judgemental regarding the food i was buying for my pets. unbelievable. they just lost a customer.

Helpful staff, decent prices, good selection, and raised bathing stations for coin-op self bathing for the dogs, including soaps, aprons, collars and tie-outs, towels, and cool blow dryer.

Really hoping I can update this review because I do absolutely love going here and have since I found the place three years ago. Unfortunately, a particular kind of wet dog food with several varieties, is consistently out of a few. It's come to my knowledge on seeing it happen first hand that a particular person is purchasing them all as soon as they are stocked. When mentioned to the store, they said they were aware however, they were unable to reserve four cans for my month supply out of the several flats they receive. Obviously people would like to purchase in quantities of four because of the discount but that many and from several different stores, as I am also told is completely inconsiderate and will cause me and others to go elsewhere because we can't get a few cans set aside because of the circumstances they are completely aware of.. it's one thing if nobody's really saying something but when you talk to the staff and they say other customers had said stuff it's kind of unfortunate management hasn't stepped up to retain customers.

There is an incredibly unpleasant woman working there who snapped at me ... 'move your cart over!' at the register after I dropped $400 on pet food. Then she charged me for three bags when I only used two. I got the dime back on principle, and I am now going back to Petco. The abrasive attitude of this place is not worth it.

I am retired from 35 years in Veterinary medicine. I decided to try Pet Food Express, Thousand Oaks, California, close to our home for our new puppy's food. I thought I kept up on quality and standards for dog food, but when I met Aaron, who works there, I was was floored how much I didn't know and how much he did know about AAFCO Dog or Cat Food Nutrient Profiles and Feeding Protocol. Because of the layout of the store, Aaron was able to, unbiasedly, compare 5 brands and give me the information I needed to make my own decision on which Brand I picked for my new puppy. He was also knowledgeable in where the brands were were manufactured, which tells you about the quality of the nutrient's! (United States and Canada adhere to strict laws of meats and processing.)I want Pet Foods Express to know how important and valuable an employee like Aaron is to me. And because I have more dog food knowledge than most from my vet background, Aaron has made me a hay, permanent customer! Also, I didn't know about your pet wash stations until I walked into the store. No more hurting my back washing my bigger dog at home!!! Thank you!
