Absolutely disgusting hotel. As you can see in the pictures, it looks like the hallways haven't been vacuumed in months. The room was so-so, mostly because this seems to be one of the few Holiday Inns that haven't been remodeled yet. Severely outdated. I'm a gold member and won't be staying at this location in the future.

Between the lack of communication with the staff and the customers, the lackadaisical attitude the staff has, the openly disrespectful attitude the staff has with one another, and the lack of dedication the staff has to the customers is enough not to come back here. I’ve been to many IHG hotels. You won’t always have things go well and you will tell the culture is from the company when things don’t go well. If the staff is attentive and wants to help, that’s a place you want to continue to do business with. The staff here falls short on so many levels.
The only reason why this hotel has 2 stars is due to the formula of holiday inn. They have a good business model that works. What brings this down 3 stars is the disappointing staff. I’ve never heard of staff openly talking bad about each other to the customer. It’s nice but scary heading the kitchen staff “consistently had a family emergency every Friday” And yet they haven’t repurposed the staff. If there is a known issue when the staff’s performance is consistently compromised, it’s best to move them to a role that customers don’t depend on.
I accidentally left 2 chargers here. I returned the next morning and I heard they couldn’t find it even though the room was not checked in since I’ve been there. They told me that they would look in the lost and found and check the room. My room was on the second floor and the person came back after 5 minutes of looking and said they couldn’t find it in the room or in the lost and found. I asked again if they checked the room and their response was it was cleaned out. In translation, they said they looked into the room but didn’t. They also told me that they would call me or I could come back at 9 am even the cleaning room lead would come in. I never got a call back so I came back at 11am. They “forget” To call me and I asked if the cleaning led came in. I heard the cleaning room lead didn’t come in until 10am. These are not qualities you find at IHG hotels.

This is a motel AND hotel. The first floor is a motel- with space between the door and the floor so bugs walk freely in and out .
If you are on the other “hotel” floors then the halls smell, there is rust in the crevices of walls and floors, there are stains on 70% of all towels, the elevator has a sign that informs the residents that “IF it stops don’t panic and instructions”. The food is not good. Management keeps one handicapped space infront of the hotel blocked off for an unknown reason- seems like for personal use.
I don’t recommend.

Overall very unpleasant experience - I will never go there again.
Rooms : negative 100, service negative infinity, location 2/5 .
Before I start list of bad things only few good things : few good things: location is good 15-20 mins to universal, good parking space. lastly I did not see the staff attacking on the residents.
Now real stuff that may be helpful:
Ambience and Climate Control : Extremely smelly and vomit inducing corridors. Air Conditioning is awful ( they either run the fan or AC but not both as auto, if you keep the fan ON then ACs is OFF leaving you to be cooked live ). Wall control unit did not have the batteries in first place. when reported to front desk, the best advice I got was to keep reducing the temperature to keep the fan running. i.e. wake up every 15 - 20 minutes lower the temp and pretend sleeping and repeat .
Breakfast was ok. most of the stuff was frozen and just heated up.
Front Desk: The front desk lady is due to get ousted or at minimum get trained around the property & equipment. If you care about any free stuff rudeness is offered on the spot free.
Pool: Don't go with the pool pictures on their website - the pool Barbie would go could be a little bigger than their pond. They will be upfront and honest with that (but only after you pay for the room).
Rooms: Upon checking in , saw the sheets all crumbled as if someone was staying there and got out after they assigned room, when complained I got a standard response "per the computer records no one has checked in that room before you" . The telephone in the room was not working. room carpet was very dirty.
I wonder how IHG chain can afford to have such a place in their asset list and risk their reputation. Also, Health & inspection authorities can get a year worth of work if they start auditing this filth.

Rooms: Go away from here,not clean in elevator and downstairs parking fell unsafe park.Fully of dust at downstairs.Nearby road so noisy from vehicles,And I met cockroaches more than 1 time in the toilet at my room.When you have some problems,Staff so bad attitude to help you.Go away here

Discriminated against by the manager in such a way, that I left within 30 min after arrival.Surrounded by young girls, which are unable to cancel a credit card transaction, not authorized to give me a invoice and keeping a security deposit for a room which looked into the open trash containers of a business.No knowledge of the law but interpretation made by this manager which has absolutely zero customer care quality.Noteworthy details: Staff is always right , customer wrong

This place isn't bad for the price. It's somewhat dated, but the rooms are nice, the bed is mostly comfortable, and the room/bathroom was clean.The rooms have a keurig coffee machine, fridgerator, and bathroom amenities. Nothing fancy, but adequate for sure. Road noise and noise from people in the hallways can be annoying. I highly recommend bringing a white noise machine or Bluetooth music speaker.Parking is tight, only a handful available on the first floor, and there is additional in the lower pull-in. For food: There are several restaurants in waking distance. And this hotel does have breakfast in the mornings for customers. This place has a very small gym, but it has enough pieces of equipment to get the job done, if you're creative.

Very clean hotel room close to the swimming pool, very large bed, impeccable breakfast service and very professional staff. I recommend very close to Santa Monica 20 minutes by car very practical when you want to avoid the crowds of the coast.

Enjoyed the stay with my fiance. This place brings you a cozy and convenient place to go bc its not too far from the beach, hiking to the mountains, and a jump, hop, skip away from downtown LA. Staff are friendly, especially David from the breakfast station, he is friendly and prompt with serving food and keeps the dining room clean and organized. This was my home away from home. Thank you for the fast and friendly service.
