“This used to be a regular pit stop for my family on every road trip that passed through this town. Whether we needed to fill the tank or just wanted some snacks, it was a tradition to stop here. I left California years ago, but it is a little comforting to see that this place still stands.”

“What a fantastic establishment! Ron was such a kind host. Simply stopped to get gas and stretch to enjoy mild weather… left with a belly laugh, pink Frazil slushie, and plans awaiting the grand reopening for the chicken spot next year!”

“This is actually the friendliest gas station I've been to in California. Many places I've encountered while passing through were not that friendly especially after dark. I honestly don't blame them due to the amount of crime and issues many places in California have.

The attendant was very attentive, kind and actually was concerned about me when I was outside in their parking lot trying to figure out how I was going to reconnect with a friend that I parted with during the day to do my own thing with the arrangement to meet up at the Flying J truck stop 25 minutes down the road in Orland with the understanding that I'd ride the local shuttle service from Willows to Orland. Not knowing the area or how the shuttle worked, I waited for the shuttle but it never showed and it turned out that I missed the last service of the day and therefore would have had to hitchhike to the truck stop since Uber was not available in the area either. All of this was not her problem yet she went above and beyond to help me stay safe while I tried to get help. She clearly knew I was disabled and needed help and did what she could to help me. All ended well, since after I sent a location sharing request to my friend in case anything should happen while I was hitchhiking he would be able to know where I was for as long as I kept the phone on me, the lady at this store went above and beyond their job description as she allowed me to wait in the store until my friend came and picked me up after he figured out my intention to thumb a ride since I had been left with no other option to getting 20 some miles down the road to meet him at the truck stop. Thank you for your service, gas station attendants are under appreciated by too many people.”
