This is the worst hospital I have visited in the 30 years I have been in the United States. The saline bag was empty. I asked the nurse to come over and help me. The answer was "wait a moment." But it never came. Anyone with medical knowledge knows that if the salt water is empty and air enters, it will be very bad for the patient's health. After waiting for several hours, the nurse can come and inject something to dissolve the blood. I really don’t know whether this hospital is saving people or treating them. I have a very bad opinion of this hospital's attitude and efficiency.

Way to under staffed, which leaves patients yelling for help on a regular basis. I seen the elderly falling between cracks because of it. I did meet alot of sweet nurses, that sincerely care about the patients well being. Would not advice this to be your go to Hospital

My daughter went to the ER with severe chest pain and a rash on her back. After waiting 6 hours to be seen she finally told a nurse she would like to file a formal complaint. They finally ran tests and sent her home with a misdiagnosis. My daughter went to another ER a few days later with worsening symptoms. The second hospital phoned Whittier’s ER re: their lab work and findings. My daughter overheard the nurse at Whittier refer to her as arrogant, abrasive, and difficult. As the daughter of a surgeon, she is not easily cowed by medical personnel. Fast forward, my daughter is being treated at the second hospital with sepsis and a dangerously high heartbeat. Thank goodness she persisted and is her own best advocate!! Shame on Whittier!!

I’ve had to stay many times, as I have a worsening condition that will end up in death. Just compared to my last stay, about five weeks ago, horrendous difference. Terrible. The VOLUME of the nursing staff in the ED and on the second floor, absolutely appalling. Apparently you’re some sort of teaching hospital? Fantastic. But why are all of these men and women laughing and joking and hollering at all hours of the day and night? It’s unbearably unprofessional. Even as the PA is announcing “it’s quiet time so our patients can rest…” you can barely hear it over them whooping and hollering and the announcement means nothing. The woman in bed 1 had an alarm that no one attended to. Isn’t there a purpose for those? After I finally call, they come check, but don’t fix it. The annoying ding. Ding. Ding. Ding. For hours more. It stops. I’m finally asleep. My cardiologist said I could leave but the attending said one more night. Fine I guess. Then I’m awakened. Told I’m being moved. That I requested it, which I most certainly did not. To a room where they bring in a patient just out of surgery. In pain. Requires lots of attention from nurses, which she had. Also had about four or five visitors with her. As she also should if that makes her feel better. But the volume of the nurses. Talking back and forth like they’re outside and no one can hear them. Infuriating. The amount of people in the room? I couldn’t even get to the restroom and how embarrassing I’m in a stupid gown having to go, and there’s all these men crammed in there that I have to squeeze past. It’s 90 degrees in there. All the while I’m thinking, why was I woken up and thrown into all of this? I’m starving. Thirsty. Hot. Can’t sleep in days too loud. I just lost it. So much so, I removed my iv, got dressed and left. Went home. Before I could even call to discuss why, someone called my 75 year old mother and discussed things I know for a fact are part of HIPAA, and not only scared her to death, but was totally ILLEGAL for them to do. She’s my emergency contact. I get that. But how idiotic to call an emergency contact but not the actual patient? Let’s see if you reply to this.

My mom 83 has been in and out of Presbyterian for the past 10 years. Their staff, did their job, but were grumpy and didn't go that extra mile. Even though this hospital isn't the newest, the staff was so kind and compassionate. Thank you, Whittier Hospital staff. That is what I needed ❤️ , From a very tired worried daughter.

Horrible Experience all around!I was there for 4 days. I didn't feel heard or understand. My basic needs were not important enough to be addressed in a timely manner. My discharge plan was not what I was told it would be. This review is brief to protect the specific details of my care.ATTENTION: in your reply to this you said Hello Victor. I wrote my name just like every other person doing a review here and YOU decide to address me unlike all the others. My name is Whitney NOT Victor. Just another example of the issues I am referring to!!!

Big shout out to the best head register nurse ever Debra! My daughter and I are very grateful for the service, love, support that she received during her stay there. I also want to thank Ana , because of her wonderful hospitality I didn't have to sleep on a chair. She provided a cot , pillow, sheet and blanket for me. This is only the beginning of our gratitude.. we can't remember all of their names, but every nurse, assistant, volunteer, cardiac dr, neurologist, ultrasound technicians, are amazing! Their knowledge, their heart of compassion are extraordinary!Thank you to all of you for making our stay safe, peaceful and successful. Lily went home feeling so much better than when she arrived to WHITTIER Hospital. God is good! He is worthy of all the glory . God bless all of these hardworking, compassionate, committed service workers!!!?

My father has been in this hospital for a few days now. He hasn't eaten in over 12 hours for a procedure that had to be done at 3 pm . The Dr. That is seeing him said that it will not be able to be done after all. When My mother and I asked why He got all defensive and saying remarks like he does not own the hospital. I asked if he can get food and water now since the procedure will not be happening. He said yes but that it's out of his control if can get food this instant. No one said that I just asked if he can eat

Nurses not very attentive on 3rd floor. You call for a nurse and no one comes. Terrible service in this hospital. 2nd floor was good, nurses available and great CNA's. You have to keep asking the same things over and over. My meds i take were not given to me and they are very important meds.

My father was taken to the ER in an ambulance. Once he arrived, the ER staff changed him out of his clothes, and someone on the staff appears to have lost it. Among the lost items were his pants, which had his wallet containing his drivers license, medical cards, and his money. The staff has yet to find it or provide an update regarding the status.I have called several times for an update, and every time, I get the same response. "Can I get a callback number? We will look into it, sorry. " No call or status update. And every time I call its like the first time they are hearing of it.
