Went to the shop to talk to Mark and meet him and I was blown away!! Super intelligent, kind "Real!" people, with real passions and real knowledge to share.. this place is like Heaven to Datsun heads like me.. not to many shops of these caliber or magnitude still around! if you're wondering who to talk to in California, it's Mark at Mikes Z Shop, bloody legend!!

Mark is a genius when it comes to repairing these cars!! He knows everything! I will only let him service my car. The only problem is getting an appointment because he is so good.

I had my 1972 Datsun 240Z towed to Mike's Z shop because I had issue with the carburetors that was the only issue with the car Mark got the car to start and but the issue was once I started the car up I heard a ticking noise coming from the engine that wasn't not the case when I took my car there I ask Mark and he said I have a bent value plus my oil spray bar was broke now WOW . Mark quoted me a ridiculous price to fix everything I just had the car towed back to my home. Also once I got the car home it wouldn't start at ALL, That was a waste of $200.00 for nothing I found out what the ticking was coming from once I remove the value cover and lash pad on top of the spring was off that comes from over revving the motor to high. ALL I'M SAYING THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU GO TO MIKE'S Z SHOP.

The best in the country.Mark is the best there is when it comes to fixing a Datsun 240z.I highly recommend you get on the waiting list.I know I will be back.Thank you very much Mark, your work is fantastic. It was very nice to meet you.

Known Mark through 3 280z's I've had. From needing a part to getting a honest answer to a question to doing a repair that actually solves the problem he's the best. Over the years I have come to know him as the owner and can call him a friend. Older cars like the 240,260 and 280,s are getting rare and collectible. So having someone who can keep them going is a gem.

Year 1996, got ripped off from these guys when I was a young and gullible . A bearded mechanic smoking a cig inspected my car, a 1989 Nissan Sentra with barely 40K miles. My wife's Sentra was leaking from the oil pan, and the biker looking mechanic said it needed a whole new tranny. I recounted him , and I stated that the oil pan gasket just need a new gasket. Then he fired back, "If you open the oil pan , the entire transmission would drop out and fall off." I scratched my head and agreed to pay a new NEW TRANSMISSION, and left the car for repair. $ 400. Two hours later, he calls back on the phone stating the car was ready with a new transmission. I thought, "Wow, that was fast." Boy, was I D*** AND WAY TOO TRUSTING. Never went back. A thief he was. Never go to Mikes. That dirty mechanic might have been old Mike himself, not certain. I don't feel so bad today. The way he smoked cigarettes, he has probably met his maker already. At the time, years ago, my wife and I were a young struggling new family with a child and baby. $400 dollars was a lot of money for us. But I forgive him, I done well with a lot of hard work.

Wanted to do the electronic ignition conversion on my 73 Datsun 620 and decided to go to Mike's Z Shop, Mark and Glenn are the best! Mark replaced my old points distributor and installed a nice Hitachi "Matchbox" D4K electronic distributor with new coil, wires and spark plugs, he also adjusted the carburator, replaced a leaky freeze plug and fixed some messy stuff around the engine bay, he explained me the improvement and gave me some helpful tips, Mark is a stand up guy, fast, honest and professional, with vast experience and fair prices, definitely will come back again, Thanks Mike's Z Shop, you guys are The Best !! I'll give it 10 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Mark is a great guy, running a great shop. Lots of needed parts on hand as well. It's the place to go when it comes to 240, 260, and 280z's. My car is going in for the final touches and repairs.

Wow what a great experience. Mark is the man. I've been trying to find a rear differential for my 71 240z project. Mark was nice enough to give me a couple hours of his time to dig through his inventory and find what I needed. Mark you are the man thank you very much.

I make an appointment 1 month out, and Marc tells me how busy they are. I call them on the day of my appointment to give them a heads up that I'll be dropping by with my car, to which Marc replies with them being too busy to work on the car right now, and reschedules me to a date within the next month. I call again and no one answered. They called back within the next couple hours and I couldn't answer. I call back again and they tell me I took too long and they gave my appointment/spot away to the next guy on the list. The level of unprofessionalism just makes me laugh. I wouldn't recommend taking your Datsun here.
