I have been going to this Kaiser for over 20 years. Dr. Calderon is great

I’m glad that they built this Kaiser so I don’t have to go all the way to Downey which is a giant mess I’ve had nothing but good experiences with the staff here and with my doctor. I’m grateful that there is a Kaiser in Whittier that’s so close to home and I’m grateful that it’s not packed to the rim like the one in Downey.

I’m changing my plan this open enrollment period after two years of membership. My disappointment is not with the Whittier location. The problem is Kaiser as a whole and how workers and patients are treated.

Pharmacists receptionists on phone have been rude. One actually hung up on me as I was finishing my sentence, they need to be retrained.

On the app: The application needs to be fixed. it gave me the option to mobile check in for a booster appt. it indicated that I was ready and just needed to wait in the lobby. I waited half an hour to find out I had to actually check in at the front desk. I wasted half an hour just because of a technical issue. This shouldn't be an option if members have to physically check in. Specific to this location: Additionally, the office seemed to be aware of this and no signage was posted. this was extremely frustrating. especially since everyone's time is precious and there is a workaround (signage). kaiser services have been going downhill lately and this was an easy, missed opportunity to improve services. I'm disappointed to say the least.

I made an appointment for labs. When I checked in, I was told to wait for my number to be called. It did not make sense so I asked the staff what is the purpose of being able to make an appointment if I still have to go by the ticket number?? At other Kaiser, after you check in, they have you just go in. The staff kept telling me there’s only 4 people ahead of you. That’s not the point…

Very warm facility, not sure why they don't maintain a cool temperature.Parking can get full fast, off street parking can be limited.Facility looks clean.Staff friendly.Doctors can forget to put in lab request so you have to double check and read the after visit summary.WASTING YOUR TIMEAnd having an 85 year old lady get poked twice.Lab and pharmacy are way too close together. This is a very small facility.

There's a lot of construction going on, so it appears that you can't park, but just pass the cars on the street and get to the parking lot. If you're using Apple Maps, it had me U-turn for no reason. Just keep turning left if you're turning in from Whittier. Other than that, this is a smaller clinic with stairs that lead you up to the second floor fast. It's kind of crowded on the first floor though. So, I suggest using contactless check-in. There was someone downstairs to help me find where the optical center was, and it was easy to get to.

I’ve been at this cases for the last two days at the Whittier location and it has been such a headache but however there’s a woman named Veronica Alvarez. Veronica went up and beyond into the tub help me get the care that I needed. She help me find out appointment face-to-face for this morning When my appointment was canceled because the doctor called out nobody would help me and nobody said oh well I’m sorry you have to come back another day… Then she had just clocked in and she’s a friendly face from yesterday and I was happy to see her she said the thing is have a seat I’ll take care of you right now. She did just that. I came in for pink eye and a fractured pinky toe, so going home and coming back another day wasn’t an option. I believe it’s important to have employees like Veronica Alvarez. She was sweet, kind, helpful and knowledgeable. Veronica truly made my experience one of the best I’ve encountered with Kaiser and I’ve been a member since 1999. Thank you for having people like her in your establishment.

Called to make an appointment for my husband for a CT scan that was ordered by his normal Dr. I sat on hold for 30 mi urea and the extremely rude woman that took my call wouldn’t let me even though I’m his wife and emergency contact. He works a day job and isn’t able to be on his phone to make the appointment himself. I’m so disappointed in the lack of help.

I will never understand why people go to urgent care for covid. The minute a patient says the think they have covid you should have a person assigned to immediately sign them up for the covid drive thru. I had to wait over 4 hours for an upper respiratory infection outside with people who thought or did have covid. Unacceptable You have sick people waiting out outside sitting on curbs, floors then when one person gets called someone sits in a un sanitizer chair. If you have covid and in need for medical attention understandable but to go to test, ridiculous. Kaiser you should "thrive" to do better

I recently had a phone consultation with Ricardo Avila and ended it with me in tears. He talked to me as if he didn't care about what I had to say and brushed off every word out of my mouth with an "oh well". He talked to me as if I was a little kid learning what words were for the first time and any question I had, he would answer back in a condescending tone. It was the most frustrating consultation I have ever had and it left me hopeless...
