I'm thrilled to share my exceptional experience with Fathers and Sons Transmission Service! They did a fantastic job rebuilding my 2017 Silverado's transmission, which gave out surprisingly at only 60,000 miles. It's been a couple of months since the rebuild, and I'm blown away by how well my truck is running - even better than before! The best part? The price was significantly lower than what the dealership quoted me.
Special shoutout to Angel and his team, who was incredibly informative and kept me updated on the status of my truck throughout the entire process. I'm extremely happy with the repair and highly recommend Fathers and Sons Transmission Service to anyone in need of transmission work. They truly exceeded my expectations!

If I could give 6 stars I would. It’s hard nowadays to find a shop you can trust to do quality work, be honest and keep you updated on what’s going on. My jeep is a problem child, always has been so I’m always careful about choosing who I ask to do work that I can’t do myself: in this case I’ve been having transmission related headaches for over a year, been to different shops, spent thousands of dollars on parts and labor that I probably didn’t need to if I’d come here sooner. Angel and his crew know what they are doing, not only did they fix my transmission issues but they even fixed the suspension! They noticed some control arm bolts were so loose they weren’t even able to be tightened anyone - so they did what you yourself would do if you noticed it - they fixed it, even thought it wasn’t a part of the work my jeep was there for. The damn thing drives better than what I dropped it off, I might end up keeping it. Thanks Father & Son Transmission. Top notch all the way. Don’t hesitate to take your car there.

The transmission on my 2017 Suburban was starting to slip. I had over 93K miles on it and I didn’t want it to get worst. I reached it to a few shots and found Father and Son Transmissions in Whittier. I spoke with Alex and he explained they were backed up and I couldn’t get the truck in immediately but they got me in as soon as they could. After speaking with Alex and having them inspect my Suburban he explained in detail what they found and the plan to get it fixed. I was pleased with how well he explained the problem, and how they were going to remedy the issue.
They had my truck ready before the expected time and was very pleased on how well the service was with Father and Son Transmission. They seem to hold themselves to a high standard and care for their customers. They treated me with the utmost respect and delivered a superb service.
After a few thousand miles, and a couple of road trips later I must say that my Suburban feels like it came off the factory floor. The gears change smoothly, obviously no slipping and I’m worry free about any mechanical issues.

Brought my 99 Acura manual trans in to Father & son Transmission in February. Spoke to the owner Angel over the phone about the clutch slipping a lot. He told me it was most likely a worn out clutch & would need a new one, but to bring it in and they would inspect it before they started any repairs. I spoke with him on a Monday, he told me they were very busy, and that my car would most likely be worked on ready on Friday or the following week. I dropped my car off on Tuesday to replace the clutch. Upon working on the vehicle I was advised that a rear main seal on the engine was worn out and needed to be replaced. Since the transmission was already removed from the vehicle the seal would be easy to replace. I brought my car in on Tuesday and to my surprise my vehicle was ready on Thursday (Car would have been ready a little sooner but they had an issue with their supplier. Supplier’s fault, not their’s!) The owner was professional throughout the whole process from beginning to end and explained everything to me beforehand, didn’t try to sell me any services my car didn’t need like other shops. I chose this shop because of the high ratings and reviews. Did not disappoint. I put many miles on that transmission, clutch is solid, no issues to date. They quoted me a great price to replace the clutch.

I blew out my transmission on my 1998 Chevy Explorer Van in February 2024. I knew it was going to be expensive and probably take forever to get my van fixed. I went on Google and found Father and Son. I spoke to Angel...he told me exactly what parts they would replace and assured me they could fix my van. He gave me a fair price and it did not change. I rarely give feedback on any service, but this time it is well deserved. Angel and his crew are professionals! They repaired my van in ONE Week! What I appreciate most of this whole experience is the level of integrity I experienced with Father and Son. No hidden fees, no excuses, and completed on time. BTW...my van runs great!

I had the most AMAZING service here. I needed my clutch replaced and Angel was such a huge help. He was very educated and informative on every question I threw at him, and he took the time to explain the rational of all questions asked. It's been a little over a month since I've had my clutch replaced and have had no further issues since. Highly recommend Father & Son Transmission!

I had the CVT transmission repaired by Father & Son about a year ago on our Nissan Versa and our car is still working great. I occasionally call them about other mechanical things and they give great advice every time. They are honest, fair, and do an excellent job. I recommend anyone that's frustrated with their CVT transmission not covered under the CA Lemon Law to do their due diligence and ask around about Father & Son's reputation and workmanship.

Angel has been nothing short of amazing. He is honest and does work with integrity at his shop. I came from having my Jeep at the dealership for 3 MONTHS. Three months in which they were not able to diagnose my Jeep - only telling me they were "looking deeper into it." After three months, they told me they could breakdown my transmission, but they were NOT assuring me what was wrong with the car was even a transmission issue. I refused to leave my car with the dealership any further. I found Angel's shop on Yelp and hoped I could rely on his expertise on transmission repair. I am grateful that I was able to find so much compassion from a mechanic who is a professional and expert in his field. He was honest, took my car and in less than two weeks was able to diagnose the vehicle. He found that my car was not having a transmission issue, and was able to give me more information than the dealership even attempted to. I appreciate his honesty, especially having come from a place where I was being dismissed by the so-called 'professional services' I was receiving at the Jeep dealership. I highly recommend Angel, and will think of his shop first when recommending any mechanic shop to friends or family. You will receive an honest diagnosis & a knowledgeable explanation about what is going on with your car.

They were straight up from the beginning with me. About how long the wait might be and kept me updated at all times. The staff was friendly and my wife fell in love with cat and new puppy. I recommend them for sure. My car is back and not showing any signs of its previous problem.

My service vans were acting up on us and we heard about father and sons transmission. I was were in desperate need to have the repairs done quickly and professionally. Angel has amazing customer service, he provided me with a range of options for the repair. He never pressured me, he presented me with the options and educated me on how each option would benefit me and then left it to me to decide what worked best for me. I really appreciate this way of doing business and I will be a lifelong customer.

I was having issues with the transmission on my Jeep Grand Cherokee. I depend on my vehicle so much to get to work, and to get my family around. When I initially called Father and Son Transmission in order to gather some information as far as what my options were, Angel was extremely informative as far as what the proper steps they would have to take, as far as diagnostic. Unfortunately, they found that my transmission had to be rebuilt, and demonstrated to me in person why. Honestly, as a woman I really felt comfortable with what I was explained. Their pricing was affordable and they gave me a set quote. Unlike other transmission repair facilities to where they couldn't, or wouldn't provide me with a definite answer as far a pricing. One they completed the job, my baby was back to normal! It's been approximately four months now and the transmission is doing great! Honestly, I really felt that I owed them this review. I say pay them a visit! Keep up the great work guys!!

Great transmission shop. I had an issue with my torque converter, spoke to Angel and he had me tow it in immediately. The diagnosis was spot on. Before replacing it he mentioned a few things that should be done at the same time so we went ahead and got it all done. Transmission shifts great. Appreciate the hard work Angel and Julian!

Tried to get a estimate for a transmission service angel aaked if the transmission was having any issues once i told him i only needed a change of fluid and filter he never responded thought that was unprofessional had work done in the past it was great but now i feel something has changed You say you were having technical issues but every message was fine until the one pertaining to what service i needed thanks for finally getting back to me weeks later

The torque converter on my daughter's 2008 Toyota Corolla had to be replaced and the transmission rebuilt. A couple of months later the new torque converter failed again. Angel told me to not worry and that he would have it repaired under their warranty. They replaced the faulty torque converter again and examined the rebuilt transmission internals to verify there was no new damage to the transmission. Thanks to him and his team, my daughter's car is back on the road again. I don't hesitate to recommend Father & Son Transmission Specialist. They stand behind their work. The actual work took a couple extra days to complete, but was well worth the wait knowing how thorough they were in diagnosing, repairing, and testing. Thank You Angel, Larry Anderson
