Such a scam. They did not tell you ahead of time that they would pull your credit report just for a saving account with them. Train your staffs better?.

It can be hassle getting to a live human being on the phone -- but that's the unfortunate reality with so many businesses these days. But the SDCCU tellers and staff are consistently responsive and friendly and willing to be helpful.

I will never bank with SDCCU again. I have an auto loan through them that I got when I purchased my latest vehicle. First of all, my first payment was due on the car weeks after the car was purchased. Standard practice is usually a couple months, 90 days. I had a 780 credit score at the time and a decent income, so it's already coming across PREDATORY. Second, I got no communications from them about my new account. I waited a week or so, assuming they'd contact me to receive the first payment. Didn't happen. Instead, I called them to get the membership info needed to access my loan account. Third, I set up recurring payments so that my payment would be made early and a little more than the actual amount. This worked the first month, but I had initially used my checking account. I decided that I wanted to switch to my savings for my own finance planning reasons, but the payment was cancelled. So, I tried to switch the recurring payment back to my checking account ( you know the one that worked before) and guess what? It was cancelled. Now, every time I try to pay the site says that they are not accepting payments at this time. So, I called them and I was informed that I had two cancelled payments, which resulted in my account being suspended from online payments. They also informed me that they couldn't do anything about it, and that to make payments going forward I have to call. It's inconvenient and PREDATORY to inconvenience people like this. I am now effectively being charged more in interest because I haven't been able to get to the bottom of this, and I am now being coerced into making payments in a really inconvenient way. I will be looking for other banks to move to, even if the rate is higher I would rather go to a bank that is competent and can serve their customers.

Went through a lengthy process to open an account in person for my small business since my main credit union is in Northern California. Major hassles and requirements from SDCCU to set this up. My CPA was in the account on a weekly basis with bookkeeping and his access was abruptly shut down. SDCCU said they did not have a one document they needed and shut down the account. My CPA nor I received any phone calls, emails or letters stating such but I did receive a cashier's check with the funds from my account. Extremely unprofessional and has caused significant issues with the cashflow for my business. Better off going with Orange County Credit Union or School First.

03/15/2023: New member since January 2023. Been looking for a new primary financial institution. I opened an account online, that wasn't easy and don't recommend opening an account online. The three visits to this location were not memorable and left overall very disappointed with the location, also with gigantic office of unused space. The service for the call center and in branch service I'd consider to be low for a credit union. Financially SDCCU is preforming excellent, but the services is under performing. My experience is pass on a recommendation.

Don't bother using the ATM at this branch since this ATM took my $100 bill while I tried to deposit my money. It even took my debit card and never returned to me.I went inside the credit union and told the bank teller about the ATM issue..... Then she told me that "There we're other customers having the same issues with the same ATM" that I was using. She knew about the problem and nobody at the branch even bothered putting up anOut of Order sign. How wack!I'll be filing a complaint to the company to get my $100 back and I'll get a new debit card on the side! For future reference, I WON'T be using this ATM anymore and I'll go to other Credit Union's ATM nearby since these other ATMs are serviced by CO-OP meaning it's free of charge whenever depositing or withdrawling cash. (It's fee free if you have a credit union debit/credit card marked with CO-OP on the back of the card)

My recently deceased father had decent size account here which I needed to close out. For this process you need certified documentation. The service I received here was excellent and I was taken care of expeditiously once all those things were taken care of.Devin the manager I believe took care of me personally and I was in and out in good time. Thanks again SDCCU!

Only used the ATM as this is not my credit union but at the time I went there it felt safe enough. I would recommend driving through the center before just to make sure it's safe. You can not park right in front.

I really enjoy going to this branch to deposit, transfer and withdrawal money. The tellers are amazing!!! The only criticism I have is their car loan and secured credit loan departments. I have a very high over 760 credit rating and they wouldn't give me a loan because of the credit bureau they work with. THAT is definitely a customer service issue. When 2 of the 3 major credit reporting agencies have my credit score and history accurate and credit worthy but the one they use does not and they take no exceptions to that.

I would like to give a shout-out to Chris at this location as well as Athina at the La Mesa branch and a thumbs down to the National City branch. I had a very unique, complicated, sensitive issue related to a member who passed away in San Diego and his disabled next of kin (wife and daughter). Athina went over and above to clear things with their operations department/back office and advised the Westminster branch (where I live) of the situation. The National City branch refused to do what Athina at the La Mesa branch did! I went into the Westminster branch on Friday, July 30th and Chris went over and above helping me with everything and was very professional and understanding of the situation. I had a few issues I still needed help with afterwards and Chris (by phone) handled them beautifully.

Chris Wallace is the man! My wife and I were buying a car privately, which can be a real hassle if there is a payoff on the loan. We showed up at 3PM on a Friday and Chris handled our application like a boss. As the clock passed 5PM, the branch closed but Chris never stopped working. From the very first interaction, I knew he would not let us leave without the keys to my wife's new car. Chris went above and beyond to make us happy...and it worked.

I have been an SDCCU member for 52 years. It is a top notch organization and their Westminster Branch is no exception. You could not find a better credit union in all of America. Customer service whether in person on the phone or online will leave you convinced that you have chosen well.
