BEWARE this Doctor is only after money!! The price of any treatment and medication is triple of any place I have been too!!! She has a superiority complex, she talks at you, not to you. I would give 0 stars but yelp makes you put at least one and this place is not deserving of that, a -5 and that's being generous!

My family brought our german shepherd into Amigo Animal Hospital on Wednesday, June 21st, 2023. He was heaving but nothing was coming out. We tried to take him to his normal vet, but the vet was not in, so my mom brought him into Amigo Animal hospital. An x-ray was taken. Dr. Mcinroy said the diagnosis was bloat, and surgery was recommended. We immediately consented to the surgery. At around 2:30pm, the Dr. Mcinroy called and informed us that the surgery was finished and our dog is slowly waking up from anesthesia, and the vet would call soon with more information. At around 4:00pm, the vet called and gave us more information. They reportedly found clay in his stomach but the spleen was not too damaged. They did a preventative procedure to prevent his stomach from flipping again. They said best case scenario he would be discharged on Saturday. They said they would call every day with more updates. On Thursday, June 22nd, I called multiple times from 8-10am with no one picking up. I then went to their website, where I learned from the that the vet hospital was not open on Thursdays. When the vet spoke to us on the phone on the 21st she did not inform us that the practice was closed on Thursdays. No option was given to us to have the dog transferred to a higher level of care, where he could have been monitored overnight and the following day. At around 11am, the Dr. Mcinroy called my mom and informed her that Loki died. My mom called me and I called the vet back. The veterinarian said she did not know the cause of our dog's death and that perhaps it was something relating to his heart. I asked her why she did not recommend a transfer to a 24 hour hospital, and she said it was because he was supposedly stable when he came out of surgery. I asked if we could see his body, and she said no, we could not see his body until Friday, June 23rd. My mom was very desperate to see his body, so I called again and begged to see his body on Thursday, but the vet refused and said only on Friday. On the morning of June 23rd at 8:30am, my mom and I went to the practice to see our dog's body. I had flown into town so that I could accompany my mom in person. We came in and I told the front desk that we were here to see our dog. One of the workers was confused, the other worker said "the german shepherd". We went into a room and they brought his body to us. While we were saying goodbye, the front desk workers were chatting and laughing loudly about something. While I assume they were not laughing about our situation, this felt very insensitive to us during our time of grief. We said goodbye and asked to the bill. The front desk workers said the bill was not ready. I asked for them to send me all the files they have for Loki so that we could have our normal vet look at the files and explain to us what happened. They said they will email it to us. We left and went to the car. As my mom and I were getting settled into the car, the vet then walked up to the car and showed us a biohazard bag filled with our dog's stomach contents and asked us what it is because it could have caused Loki's condition. My mom did not know the contents of the bag. This caused my mom much emotional distress because we already had closure, but the conversation with the vet and the bag of stomach contents led my mom to obsess over what the contents could have been. As my mom was trying to think about what the contents could have possibly been, Dr Mcinroy was incredibly condescending, perhaps due to my mom speaking with an accent. For example, my mom said "I don't think it's his food because his food is brown.", the vet rolled her eyes, chuckled and said "yes, food is brown." The vet encouraged my mom to take the stomach contents (which was in a bag labeled 'biohazard') home and my mom did take the bag home out of guilt. I spoke with other vets, who said that the standard of care would have been for the vet to recommend transfer to to a 24 hour hospital. Never in our communications with the vet did we kn

We have had numerous dogs and cats that have come to Amigo over the years. Amigo is always caring and compassionate with their care of the animals.
I would highly recommend them for all of your pet needs!

We've been coming her for 11 years and have always received great care for our pitbull. They are flexible with scheduling when needed and the tech staff in particular have always been especially friendly and sweet with our boy. Everyone always greets you with a smile and he leaves with a belly full of treats.

The doctor there (mcInroy) is so off putting and snarky I wouldn't take a gerbil to be seen by her. She may be a fantastic doctor but based on her bedside manner that's a hard pass. I have never met someone in the business of caring for animals that was so rude and condescending. Tommie got the care he needed. Try being more compassionate. It may help your business

Dr.McInroy has zero compassion! This doctor has no personality and has a cold and dismissive bedside manner. When trying to ask questions to understand why the estimate for an ear infection is over $500. Bloodwork is over $300, I asked for a rough estimate for my other 30lb dog what a spay would cost $1000. I heard the doctor when the vet asst went to ask her on my behalf if all of this was necessary, for a very mild ear infection (my dog is prone to ear infections I can tell when its mild or severe). She said yes, this is standard ,we aren't here to go back and forth on pricing ,they are more than welcome to go elsewhere. This confirmed to me that she is only reaching for an affluent clientele and owners that will just nod and say yes to anything, And yes I did go elsewhere where my pet was treated with great care, at a brand new facility for $200! "This is quality care, gold standard"? This from a hospital that has banners instead of real business signs out front. The lobby has water damaged tiles that look ready to fall at any point, lights with missing covers, pretty sure those are safety hazards. The exam room had a missing tile cover with exposed insulation, just what everyone wants is asbestos and fiberglass falling on them, this is definitely a huge safety hazard. The only thing that the practice has going for itself is the friendly staff. I would recommend that you do your research and pay attention to the negative reviews. This Doctor lacks social skills, and I wouldn't even define this as practicing good medicine, just bad all around. You can get quality care from places that won't nickle and dime you and doctors who are happy to be there that thoroughly enjoy their job. Good luck!

Dr. Mcinroy has an excellent bedside manner. Minnie loves it here. lol. Ok, Less scared than other vet places that are just too busy for the personal service. We like it here as it's very personable and friendly and all questions are answered to our satisfaction. Prices are very reasonable also.

Amigo Animal Hospital has been taking care of my yorkie since I rescued him 5 years ago and the doctor and staff are wonderful with him as he's very nervous dog.

Excellent care but it would be an improvement if they discussed our older dog's post surgery health status in a private room and not in the waiting room when a stranger could listen.

Wonderful veterinarian and staff. Dr. McInroy and her staff, especially Arlette, are so kind and informative. The ladies at the front are professional and friendly. I am so glad I picked this vet office for my Golden Doodle. I can take my time asking questions and feel very educated and happy every time I leave the office. They take appointments so there is no wait at all unlike some vet offices that are walk in only. I would recommend this place to anyone wholeheartedly.
