I just wanted to share my recent experience with Swickard Honda of Thousand Oaks to caution anyone considering doing business with them. I had a 2021 Chevrolet Equinox lease ending on January 17, 2024. My parents have both previously purchased Honda's and have dealt with the same salesman for over 10 years. He has always been good to them. So we called him up in December and let him know I was in the market for a new car and what I was interested in. We found the 2024 CRV EX-L and once he pointed me to finance, that's where my troubles began. The finance manager couldn't get the paperwork to match in their computer system, which brought completion to a halt. She called in assistance and no one could understand it so they sent us home. For the next two days they figured it out. They finally called me back in to finish the paperwork and pick my SUV up. Great! Honda just needed to pay Chevrolet for my Equinox (which they could buy because they have a Chevrolet dealer in their network) which they said was going to be done instantly, so everything's taken care of! Happily ever after right? WRONG!!! Almost a month later now, Honda's new finance manager calls me and explains that he needs a new copy of my insurance card because the one I gave him is expired and proceeds to quiz me on the Honda loyalty asking who in my family has the vehicles, what year and that I would have to send images of the VIN numbers. Then he sends me a grammatically incorrect email with a header saying NEED A INSURANCE with no body of text and a scribbled signature with no brand logo or any verification it's Honda. We reach out to our salesman to verify that it's legit before sending the insurance card only to get conflicting information...someone saying it was expired, someone saying it was too recent but upon reviewing my contract I see they had the correct insurance card and I remember seeing the original finance manager copying my insurance card twice...but I digress. I hate to say it, but it gets worse. My Chevrolet salesman who I have dealt with for over 10 years called me to check up on my lease end because he noticed it was still open. Mind you, a month has since passed since the Honda deal was closed to which I find out Honda has not taken care of the buyout payment. That Saturday I go into Honda and confront the manager about it, he blames the transitional period of new ownership but he along with his sales manager promise they will not let me down & will take care of it immediately. On Monday, I called the sales manager to ask him about the status of the payment. He basically had no recollection but said he'd follow up and call me back in 15 minutes. After 2 hours of not hearing back I texted him asking him the status, he had none and proceeded to ask me if I could refrain from contacting him on his mobile to which I replied I understood but why would he give me his mobile number if he didn't want me to contact him on it? I asked him to send his work email to which he ignored. Tuesday on, I was in office at work so my wonderful mom was dealing with this headache while I was at work but basically she was in contact with GM Financial, Honda Financial Services and any other lead Swickard Honda claimed they were talking to following up. While Swickard Honda was claiming they were hard at work trying to get this taken care of, not one person seemed to have record of it. We finally confronted the manager about it and let him know that if it wasn't taken care of by that day before the next Chevrolet payment was due, I'd take back the CRV EX-L and wanted my Equinox back. His tone completely changed and as of yesterday it seems they finally paid Chevrolet. Obtaining proof of that wasn't even easy. I'm disappointed to say the least. I was so excited going into this! The car itself has been awesome, but the customer service and how the company has handled this situation does not align with my morals & values. I will not be a returning customer.

The sales personnel were courteous. After buying a car I found it difficult to contact the service dept. The phone system makes it very difficult to contact service dept. I had to drive over to the dealership to talk to the service dept.

I went with my daughter to look at cars and we were greeted very professionally with this man called Ulysses and right away in the conversation he said, everybody calls me, Ule and he showed us a few cars and understood exactly what we wanted from the get-go and we purchased well. My daughter purchased a 2019 I believe Honda accord And the whole interaction of the process of purchasing a car went very smoothly and professional I would recommend all my friends and family to go see Ule if they need to purchase a car.

Annette was my service advisor and was very attentive and helpful to all my questions and needs. Honda Thousand Oaks is my favorite dealership by far.

There has been a significant degradation of honesty and affordability of the service department ever since Swickard took over this year. Prices have shot up (brake service +30% in one year) and quoted a timing belt tensioner and belt service for $3000+. DCH Honda of Oxnard quoted 25% less. After buying three cars from Honda of Thousand Oaks and 16 years of using them exclusively for service, we're not going back. There are too many dealer options around to support dishonesty and gouging.

I have purchased my last three new Hondas from Honda of Thousand Oaks (now Swickard Honda) even though it's a 45-minute drive from my home. That says something! Rent is lower in Thousand Oaks than LA, so originally I figured it was worth the drive. I believe you are more likely to get a better deal in Thousand Oaks. But, most importantly, each time I was able to buy without any dealer shenanigans such as the ole' bait and switch games. And I've seen it all! I certainly can't say the same about other dealers. By default, I shop around every time. This time around, almost all of the rest of the dealers INSISTED on bundling overpriced options/accessories that I didn't want/need. I'm not sure if these were factory-installed or dealer-installed options. One dealer REFUSED to email me an itemized out-the-door quote. So, this time I also traded in my old Honda. Swickard Honda matched the offer price of an online service just based on pictures and car information that I provided. So, everything was decided in advance. Nothing was reneged on once I got there. Aside from that, the dealership has a comfortable lounge with free WIFI. I should also mention that many banks are situated right next to this auto mall, for example, if you are paying in cash.

Worst dealership ever! Prices rose triple versus what prior owner Anderson charged. Customer service fell from a 10 out of 10 to a zero, too. Avoid Swickard Honda like COVID!

When I was purchasing my 2023 Honda CRV hybrid sport, they refused to sell it to me without purchasing their 2 thousand dollar paint protection package, which the salesman claimed protected against all damage to the paint. I wasn't happy about it but I figured' oh well it protects the pain and it's the only way I can get the car right now". About one year later, I bring the car back in with a small paint chip to the hood and was informed that my paint protection package does not protect against paint chips or scrapes, only cosmetic damage from water droplets or bird feces. I feel lied to and will never be purchasing a vehicle from this dealer chain again.

Extremely unprofessional, my wife and I went down to buy a cr-v and Lou and Nick the sales manager helped me out. Lou was wonderful, the sales manager however made me and my wife so uncomfortable we left without buying anything. He gave me and my wife a multiple choice test to confirm the information we had provided on the application. Then proceeded to run my wife's and I credit a total of 3 times. Finally he called me and said he got me approved, and that I'd be stupid to go anywhere else. Come to find out that the way he had approved the car deal was by changing the whole thing without telling me. Once I was at the dealership, about to sign the paperwork in finance that's when I personally saw the changes.Nick clearly thought we were a young couple that he could smooth over, extremely shady business practices by this manager. after being confronted, he pretended like he had no idea what was happening, and that this is usual business practices at a dealership. So my wife and I walked into a Tesla store at the mall and bought a model Y. No hassle, no bargaining, no sales manager no multiple-choice tests and it took less than 20 minutes. Really shows why people are tired of dealerships.

I was in the market for a CR-V. Saw one listed in the paper and went to go check it out. By the time I got there, they said it had been sold. Was still listed a month later. Can you smell clickbait? I have reservations about "Swickard Honda". I was guided to another CR-V on the lot, which was exactly what I was looking for, just a couple/few grand more than the one advertised. I test drove it and was happy with the drive and appearance. Was also a Honda Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle (CPO). Was told these are the cream of the crop used cars, still have remaining warranty and or additional warranties. They also have a "Car Facts" like reporting system, which ironically was down (electronically). Another irony, as of writing one month later, this "Auto Check" is still not available to the consumer electronically. I told the salesman I was interested and asked if there was any room for negotiating, to which he replied "no." "We've conducted price research within 100 miles and feel this is a fair market price." I should have gone to Culver City Honda like my gut was telling me, and could have saved nearly 10% on the identical CPO vehicle. Long story short, there were "items" not verbally expressed to me during the purchasing phase, which I feel was not ethical, and I could have used as bargaining chips to reduce the price. I did not find out about this until going through the documents at home at a later date. Clearly these were important items which should have been conveyed. It also took Swickard nearly two weeks to process paperwork with my trade in, necessitating an additional payment to have been made on my trade in, after a release of liability and bill of sales had been signed. Moral of my story, if I had to do it all over again, I would have gone elsewhere. Also ask for the vehicles complete history rundown before agreeing with anything.

I always bring my car to Acura of Thousand Oaks where I purchased it brand new. My vehicle is a critical part of my career because I cannot be late nor delay my services, for any reason. I was happy to have found a caring Service Advisor at Acura but an after almost a year, he moved to Honda of TO. Justin Z. Soohoo, has always been an outstanding ambassador of the Acura brand, he makes us feel like one of his when caring for our vehicle. He explains the services needed and provides us alternatives to fix the maintenance services, at the same time. He updates us during the maintenance protocols and makes sure that our vehicle is in tip top shape, all the time. Justin is an outstanding ambassador of how service advisors should be: personable, caring, and an honest individual who puts his customers at a higher level of respect than others. We shall always go to Honda and Acura of Thousand Oaks as long as Justin Soohoo is there to serve us!
