Do not trust this business. Thet burned me fot over $5000.00 I sent them a packet with all of my returns and sensitive information and they have done nothing for me. Ive left message after message and no one will answer or return my call. They are thieves in my opinion. Please do not fall for their smooth talking salesman. Im sooooo disappointed

I started using Southcoast in 2019 and only this year did I think I started to make some progress. Southcoast was receiving copies of all documentation the IRS sent out and they would contact me with next steps and updates. The last few months I’ve had no phone calls or emails returned. I am now using another tax attorney that states that Southcoast must have removed themselves as Power of Attorney for me. I now have a lien from the IRS and Southcoast has been unresponsive. I did reach out to Ryan on July 7th and spoke with him, but was not aware that they were no longer acting as my attorney. I was working with Alyson and Ryan and after all is said and done they did not resolve my case and I still owe the IRS thousands of dollars. I am now working to get a full refund through my bank and was able to get my first payments returned to me through USAA, but the remaining $2,275 . I realize now the fastest way to get a response is to actually write this review. Maybe SCTR should take the time they are trolling reviews and responding to actually focus that time on customers. I know have to start all over in the process with the new company Timberland out of Denver and so far they have been great. South Coast Tax Resolution PLEASE REFUND the money I spent since I have now had to pay the same amount to another company.

I'm 58 and working with this company was the worst experience ever. I first contacted them in 07-20 and had a phone consultation with Randy Richardson. He asked me a few questions about my income and expenses then assured me that I "easily qualified" for the "fresh start program" the IRS offered. Foolishly, I believed him and initiated services. Communication with their office was extremely poor from the start. They rarely answered their phone and almost never returned phone calls. Whenever I was able to talk to someone I was given conflicting information. Months would pass with absolutely no progress on my case. Upon confronting the owner, Ryan he blamed this lack of progress on the pandemic. But upon challenging him further, he finally said he "couldn't apologize enough". He said it had been a "crazy year". After numerous and lengthy delays, I filed a complaint with the AG's office in CA. Well, that got their attention but unfortunately there was still no substantive action. Fast forward to Spring of this year and ultimately, nearly three full years later the offer in compromise for the IRS was denied for insufficient information. So after paying thousands to this incompetent company and waiting 32 months I was back to square one. They have the audacity to advertise on Christian radio only to rob you blind. It's beyond unprofessional and certainly not Christian. I've started over now with a tax attorney here in Ohio and their staff had a new offer in compromise submitted within a few weeks. There is just no excuse whatsoever for the way this company operates. Avoid them completely.phone calls.

It is with great sadness that I write this review. I have been with this company since 2018 when I received my IRS audit outcome. I owed the IRS $50,000+. In 2016 my daughter suffered a TBI and I set up a go-fund-me. I had to close my practice to care for her. South Coast/Ryan Born assured me that I would be able to get an Offer In Compromise. I was denied 3x. This has been going on for 5 years. Every year my tax returned was kept. Ryan went MIA on many occasions. I gave him every opportunity. I recently hired a tax accountant. This was another $3000. I would now not qualify for an offer in compromise. I ended up paying the entire amount plus the costs with SC Tax and my new accountant. I reached backed out to Ryan and asked for some money back. He substantiated that I had in fact paid my entire debt. He said I would hear from him by Friday, March 3rd with a refund amount. Seven emails later and today is May 25th, 2023...NOTHING. I wasted so much time, money, and energy with this company. I would not recommend it to anyone.

I was so in hopes that the reviews for this company stood for what they would do for me. I hired them right before the pandemic so things did not move very quickly. That was OK but Now I can't even get them to call me back Or answer my emails. This is devastating to my family after paying a large amount to them to help us.

If you have tax issues, we understand how scary it is, but the only way to deal with them and see incredible results is working with Ryan and his amazing team at South Coast Tax!

My husband and I are so grateful to have found your company to assist us in filing our taxes. After everything going on these past couple years, it was a breath of fresh air to have such courteous and professional service in dealing with the IRS. I came to South Coast Tax Resolution in a mess and scared out of my mind. I could not make heads or tails with the tax issues I created for myself over the years. My initial conversation with Ryan instantly put my anxiety to ease. He explained the process and broke it down so I understood it completely. He was able to get my past years taxes done and then settle my account with the IRS. South Coast Tax gave me my life back, they really went above and beyond for me and made me feel valued. This is a company I will continue to use for my future returns as I know I will always be taken care of. Thank you South Coast Tax, THANK YOU!

In reply to their comment on my low star rating: Actually I’m reviewing you on behalf of my parents who are older and less equipped with technology. I was only originally going to leave you a low star rating to give you the benefit of the doubt, but your propaganda-esque reply warranted one of its own. You blame your competition for your inability to provide good service. Your arrogance is appalling, do you think you are so incapable of mistake that you cannot get a single bad review? Pride is quite unchristianly of you. You did not, at the least, treat my parents like family, else you would reply to them in a timely manner. You leave them without answer until the time is up or its already too late. I would hate to be your family if that’s how you treat them. You can reply to reviews but you can't respond to your own clients. Your professionalism has declined greatly this year. The quality of service is a joke. Moreover, as you claim, if you know everyone of your clients by name, then that implies you don’t have an extreme amount of clients. Therefore, why are you leaving some clients, such as my parents, hanging? You can’t be too busy, considering you know them all by name. You have poor customer service and you make multiple avoidable mistakes. You have absolutely no accountability for your actions and that is why you become so defensive at a negative review. This obviously indicates you will not learn from your mistakes since you cannot acknowledge them. To anyone else reading this, I recommend you stay far away from them. They will never get better and I wouldn’t wish these terrible experiences and the unwarranted stress they have caused my parents onto anyone. My parents were too nice to say anything themselves so I felt the need to warn others. Thank you.

After taking over $12,000 of my money South Coast Tax has refused to return any of my phone calls, email or text messages to Randy, Ryan, and their accounts receivable department who was always banging down my door when it was time to get paid! I decided to retain them based on their representation as a Christian Based Business and their Joel Osteen promotions on Sirius XM and they have proven to be the antithesis of what they represent and they say they are and I'm now forced to file serious complaints against them. They filed my past taxes and then failed to follow through with the settlement Agreement they promised once they had received the majority of my payments, which I had accelerated in hopes they would help me create resolution faster only to be told by them that my double payment schedule would do nothing to improve the timeline of my settlement, all the while refusing to let me go back to a normal pay-plan. With only 2 payments left, they then completely quit communicating and I've never heard from them since. They've proven they're a typical grab-and-dump tax resolution company that doesn't do what they say or represent a good example as a so-called Christian Based Business. I'm being forced to move forward with filing complaints and taking legal action against them!

I was at a total loss with my tax problems and then I heard about South Coast Tax on a Conservative Christian program and I knew that there was hope for me and my husband. We had many years of unfiled tax returns and received notices from the IRS. I called and spoke with Randy about this and after talking with him he laid out a plan to get our taxes back in order. This is a small Christian owned Company and the way they treated me shows this. In the end they filed all our taxes and we were able to settle with the IRS for a lot less than we owed. I want to thank the owner Ryan, and Randy and Sandy for being patient with me and taking care of our tax issue.

I heard an ad for South Coast Tax Resolution (SCTR) on Sirius XMin 2018while driving home from work. The voices in the ad sounded so soothing and for some reason I felt compelled to write the number down and told myself I would call when I got home.You see I had made some seriously poor financial mistakes in 2014-2016. Those financial mistakes caused me great anxiety, stress, guilt, regret and most of all SHAME. I was a prisoner of my errors with the IRS and there was no help in sight.The truth is I owed the IRS over $250K and I had no idea how I could even begin to address it. So I avoided dealing with it all together. I buried my head in fear of garnished wages and levied accounts. As a single Mom, those thoughts kept me up most nights. How could I provide for my child if the IRS garnished my wages?? What if I end up homeless?? So many what ifs ran thru my mind on a daily basis.As I promised myself that day I called SCTR late that evening, it was 8pm EST so I thought for sure no one would answer and before anyone could pick up I hung up the phone...again the shame caused me to want to hide. I got a call back immediately and it was Ryan Born who asked me some questions and immediately put me at ease to at least tell him my truth. I later learned the company is in the west coast and it was only 5pm their time (LOL).From that day I knew I found the team who could help me. In the following days he devised a strategy and timeline for me to follow so we could get to the bottom of the pile of mess I had created/avoided. Over the course of the journey Ryan and his team were consistent, professional and optimistic even when I was full of doubt. SCTR has a culture of positivity and optimism no matter what! I leaned on them and after time I too got on the positive boat! Ryan is a GENIUS and a master at his craft! He's also a great teacher with an ability to chunk down the technical parts of the IRS into bite size lay man terms. In the end I received a letter from the IRS ACCEPTING my offer in compromise. It was the BEST news ever!! I spent years not knowing where to turn and who to trust. I will forever be indebted to Ryan and his AMAZING team. They are AWESOME!! He is not only my tax guy but he's a dear friend who I'm honored to know, sincerely!! I am proud to write this review and would shout my experience from any roof top!! SCTR is the BEST at handling outrageous and even not so outrageous IRS issues! Hire them and thank me later :)Kind RegardsDr. Dominique LaFortune
