Amazing staff! I shop here weekly for my butcher shop and I can't say enough about how friendly and helpful the management team and rest of the employees are. They give me a level of comfort in running my business that I can count on them for a good number of things that I need, some being extremely last minute. Thank you very much Smart and Final Team!

The prices aren’t bad but the digital coupons are a nightmare. Our app got hacked and we couldn’t register. No internet in store and zero assistance. We had a full wagon but they wouldn’t accept the sale price for the margins so we walked out. Why make shopping more difficult? Shoppers have choices

I'm so frustrated with this store. The prices are ok but the digital coupons don't work. No internet in store. App crashes. We got hacked. We asked that they accept the sale price for the margarine at least. Nope so we left wagon and walked out. They wouldn't even assist in any way. Bad customer service.

I previously reviewed this in October 2023, and now updating my review. BTW: On that review in October, it took a speedy response from management in mid-January, 2024!! That previous complaint was about their Weekly Digital Ads, and how it discriminates against Senior Citizens in FORCING them to 1) Click on the item you want and 2) carry a SmartPhone around and then Display the items to the cashier. WHY? What's wrong with the old method of your home telephone number? I had been in their stores recently, had to borrow my spouse's iPhone, and had trouble bringing up their website to show the cashier. Got a very snotty response by her telling me that it's my phone! I showed her that it was NOT responding on THEIR website, but it did respond when I went to another website totally unrelated! Didn't say anything, didn't apologize. Later, when talking to the clerk that was putting away the bags for me, she commented that "Yeah, the system can be slow." Tonight - I tried to use their website to get the items for their Weekly Digital Ads. The website did not respond, and I tried intermittently about every 15 minutes for about 3 hours before finally giving up. IF THE COMPANY IS GOING TO FORCE USERS TO USE THEIR *!&^%!$! WEBSITE FOR DIGITAL ADS, THE LEAST THEY CAN DO IS HAVE THEIR WEBSITE WORKING! The company is totally unresponsive, persists in this stupid Digital process. As an aside, a company such as Home Depot and DIY Hardware Center - once you establish who you are and with proper ID, they can use your phone number, and at the most, you show your ID and you can get a discount. At other grocery stores, such as Ralphs or Vons, your phone number is enough as an ID to get you their Specials of the week, without going through all this Digital stuff that Smart & Final seems to enjoy putting their customers through. I am seriously thinking of just bypassing Smart & Final altogether and not waste my time trying to use their website, both at home as well as at the store. It is frustrating, and a total waste of MY time. Talking to a few of my Senior Citizen friends, many feel the same way. They may have one cellphone or in some cases, no cellphone and just use their 'trusty' landline, which was no problem for Smart & Final until some of their upper mgmt decided to frustrate Senior Citizens with Digital Ads! I wonder how long it will take management to respond to this, as well as how long they want to continue to drive customers away.

Absolutely horrible store every time I go in there there's only one person working the register with a massive line. They call for help and never get another line open. The managers seem like they don't care about anything seriously avoid this store there are so many better and more competent supermarkets just up the road

Prices are good. Packaged items like cereals and pasta are normally less expensive here than elsewhere. The people have always been nice. Easy parking. The downside is that quality control is lacking in one department or another. The fruit and produce can be sketchy. Not always fresh. Not like it takes a huge investigation - you can tell by the bruises. And the problem I had this morning led me to this review. Purchased a quart of half and half. Took it to a work location several miles away. Poured it into fresh coffee and immediately saw it was bad. Checked the date and it expired 8 days earlier. What's crazy is I was going to buy the Knudsen version - and then saw I could save $1 or so by buying the First Street brand (their store brand). I forgot to bring the quart back home with me at the end of the day, but knew if there was one bad quart there would be others, so I stopped in, found another quart that expired 8 days ago and then 2 more that expired yesterday. I brought these up to the cashier to get them out of circulation. Others were getting ready to go bad in a couple days. And these were all First Street brand. I didn't bother checking everything else. The cashier said I could return the bad quart and bring my receipt, which I'll do tomorrow. Guess trying to save $1 cost me more in time. I'll just need to remember to check the expiration dates there in the future. Even though I shouldn't have to.

If u don't feel like buying in bulk from Costco across the street, this store may be the next best thing for u. It does offer bulk rate price for the business as well as retail buy. I like to get banana from here. What is cheap are the scallion and coriander (most the time), banana, green cabbage, daikon, numerous chilli peppers, chicken thighs, milk, half and half, & many more. What is lacking, though, are cheap priced soft drinks, bakery products, grains and cereal products. They are mostly average or above average compared to Von's, Ralph's, or other grocery stores. It has pretty clean restroom.

Produce not great. Staff is very nice! Decent prices, and my granddaughter can pay with her watch there. She can't pay with her watch at rRalplps. Technology!
