I came to Dan with a drop foot condition, unable to walk for more than five minutes. I would experience terrible pain from a nerve compression caused by a herniated disc. As a result I had lost all sensation in my left foot toes, and could not lift my left foot because of a weakened and very tight ankle. Today, after working with Dan, I am able to walk comfortably for 30-45 minutes, after which I take a break because of fatigue rather than pain. I am pain free now. In addition to being able to walk comfortably, my quality of life as a whole has improved thanks to Dan. I sleep better, and also eat better (I used to choke on my food often in the past).Dan’s specialty is in being able to diagnose the underlying cause, and treat the body as an intelligent and interconnected whole. His systematic and intelligent approach stems from his ability to ‘listen’ to the body and respond to it with sensitivity and strategies that most physical therapists lack. Dan’s holistic approach is what explains how my eating and sleep got better, in addition to my lower back. What I also appreciate in Dan is his genuine interest in empowering his patients towards understanding their own bodies, and taking ownership of the strategies that work for them. I cannot thank him enough for his deep involvement and care towards me and my well-being.

Dan Kinney is the best in the game. Hands down. He completely retrained my way of thinking and how to use the body as a whole. He taught me the importance of separated my ego from the "work out concept" and teach me how to use my body properly and functionally for my work and longevity. I have learned so much form him and his techniques. I am truly so thankful for all the knowledge he has bestowed. I highly suggest this practice!

Dan is the best PT and body worker I have ever worked with and I have worked with many. His knowledge and intuitive approach has helped me with lower back and muscle related issues that I have had for 30 years. He has taught me exercises I can do at home to manage my condition so I’m not having to go in so often. I was having chiropractic adjustments weekly. Haven’t needed an adjustment for months. He is a true healer.

I went to Dan at the recommendation of my Pilates teacher to help with a chronic back issue. Dan quickly assessed the underlying issue and worked to realign my body and I left there feeling like a new woman. Added bonus - he also helped with a completely unrelated issue ( spasmodic dysphonia ) This guy is the real deal and knows the workings of the body like few do.

Dan has helped me after rotator cuff surgeries, and for back problems. He is the only physical therapist who really made a difference. His wholistic approach is really effective.

Dan was recommended to me by another trusted health professional for a hip problem that I had been dealing with for years. From my very first visit, he made me feel eager about the healing journey I would go on with him. He works very intuitively and I always felt safe, cared for, and listened to. Dan also has an incredible sense of humor that put me at ease. I can't really explain how he does what he does, but I will be forever grateful that I was led to Dan Kinney. René P. Simi Valley

Dan is a true healer who takes a unique approach using both physical and mindful techniques to work on each person's individual condition. I went to see Dan by my Orthopedic's suggestion for chronic pain that I had coming from two bulging discs in my neck. The pain radiated down my neck, into my arm, shoulders and back. Some days I couldn't move. It was literally debilitating. After seeing Dan twice a week for a period of time, we were able to alleviate almost all of my pain with just his treatments - No pain pills - not even Advil! I'm now living pain free and enjoying the physical life I once loved! I also feel that Dan gave me the tools I need to stay on a healthy path. Thanks Dan!!!!

I met Dan in November 2017, as a last resort before my scheduled surgery for 3 herniated disks and foot drop. My entire lower right side was out of alignment, my knee hurt, and the right foot was dropping with every step. At least I managed my back pain with max recomended doses of Alieve and Wobenzym, and no prescribed opioids. Dan told me things looked grim, but all depended how badly I wanted to get better and go on my long, anticipated vacation 7 weeks away. He made no promises, but made it clear that for his therapy to work, I needed to do my daily exercises he would prescribe. So 7 weeks later I was on a plane, paid extra for a Business class seat on an overnight flight to paradise. After that I had 6 more weeks of therapy, until Dan essentially told me I was good to go. Total recovery with Dan was about 13 weeks, twice a week. I only saw him about a year and half later, as I had some back pain which coincided with some turmoil going on in my life and slacking on my exercise routine. My partner went to Dan for his hip issues and the great news is that Dan gets everyone motivated to stretch and get strong no matter at what age or physical shape. Dan is a genuine individual who cares about our wellbeing, not because he gets paid a modest fee compared to my surgeon, but because he wants to heal people and free them of pain.

Dan's comprehensive approach to Physical Therapy and Wellness sees the body as an interconnected system with a few crucial junctions. Whereas most physical therapists only tackle the symptoms through hyper-targeted rehab, Dan's system restores the body's natural alignment from the foundation (feet, ankles, knees, hips, back, shoulders, etc.) up, ELIMINATING THE ROOT CAUSE of bodily pain and strengthening the body against future injuries.I've had shoulder pain since Freshman year of college and it has held me back in certain areas of my life for over 5 years (I'm currently 24). With patience, encouragement and deep expertise, Dan was able to identify the root cause of my shoulder pain and helped me address it. I am now kickboxing and participating in the high intensity sports and activities that I felt were out of my reach and am deeply grateful to Dan for his help in restoring me to myself.

Dan treated me for a shoulder pain issue in April/May of 2019. The discomfort had no obvious cause. What impressed me was the fact that while Dan treated the shoulder he did an overall assessment of all my muscle groups to try and find the underlying cause. He showed me a variety of exercises, not just for the shoulder, but to improve my posture. The discomfort subsequently went away.

Dan originally treated me back in 2015, when back pain was making life hard to function. After examining me, he showed me the root cause of my problem and provided specific details in to why it was causing all of my back problems. He provided a specific regimen of stretching to alleviate all my pain and to balance me out. When I see him on occasion now (since he's cured my back and hip problems) he can pinpoint my muscle issues just from seeing how I walk and goes right to the point of pain. I call him "The Wizard"

Dan has treated me on numerous occasions including shoulder, hip, and back therapy. He has a wholistic approach that has helped me immensely. I continue to do the exercises he has taught me, and along with watching my diet and taking senior classes at the gym, I am functioning well at 84 years old.

If you live with pain or feel stuck in life and are ready to get your life back on track, you need to see Dan. He uncovers and focuses on the root causes of pain or what's holding you back and rather than just treating the symptoms. When I started, I was in a place where I had tried everything on my own and was tired of not being able to perform well or even participate at a base level in my favorite physical activities that I excelled at & loved in my 20's & 30's -- now I feel that I'm finally getting back on track. While his knowledge, experience and determination in helping others is surely a major factor, one of the key factors that is making a difference for me is the accountability factor.
