I popped in to Ilene's today for the first time (was visiting from out of town and happened to see the shop). From the moment I walked in Ilene was kind and attentive. She introduced herself and we chatted a bit while she let me peruse all the many clothing and jewelry pieces. She even pointed out the sale room which I hadn't seen. I bought a few super cute items and look forward to returning some time soon.

I love, love love Ilene and Ilene's Boutique. Ilene posses the vibe of a woman well traveled and we have many things in common. When I met her it was like meeting an old friend. We didn't speak words, but our eye contact conveyed a connection beyond any superficial nonsense that comes out of most peoples mouths. We embraced and the hug spoke volumes about this amazing human. I knew that this hidden gem was my new go-to for quality customer service, personal attention and excellent attire for any occasion. The staff are knowledgeable, classy and hysterical. We have a good time when I visit and it is always a joy to see these ladies. Don't miss out on the experience. Cancel your next therapy session and buy yourself something nice.at Ilene's and make a new friend.

To be fair to this business I have never set foot in Ilene's Boutique but have no doubt the negative reviews of the owner "Ilene" are probably spot on here's why; I used to work at a retail establishment next to the boutique that Ilene and her husband frequented from time to time. I can tell you first hand she is a nasty customer and treats "the help" like second class citizens. She demands perfection from retail businesses and embodies the "Westlake" elitism all of us treasure. Her husband is a real shyster too and when he doesn't get his way rants and bitches at clerks and management until he gets corporate on the phone to ease his pain. These two clowns are real beauties.

I live in Dallas Texas and am a family member of Ilene. She's one of the sweetest and most positive person's I know , and am lucky to have in my life. Her business sense and her ability to dress anyone that walks into her boutique is outstanding. She knows her stuff. I can't wait to return to shop there again real soon. She and her staff are fabulous and very helpful. I am used to shopping at Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom but there customer service is ok , but you get excellent customer service and better selections of different designer's.. can't wait to visit real soon!! I had lunch with a colleague and she was wearing a pretty ring. She told me she had gotten it at Ilene's so I made my way over there in my casual work clothes. (I work with animals so I didn't fit the profile of a chic Westlake customer.) I walked in and an older lady was behind the counter. (I believe this was Ilene.) She was chatting with a customer and never greeted me. I spent time looking at everything in the store and was never acknowledged. When I eventually asked her for the price of a pair of shoes, the woman confirmed the unwelcome feeling I'd already gotten with a snarky response and I couldn't wait to get out of there. Reading other reviews, it looks like she often sizes up customers and decides whether they're worth her time. I'm surprised she hasn't learned that plenty of us hard working gals like to reward ourselves with nice things, too.

I visited this place twice. The first time was great, I bought a great bag and customer service was great! Today however was very disappointing. I was looking around the boutique for bags and I looked over at the counter where they keep the "real" name brand bags like Chanel, Gucci, YSL, etc. They had no problem showing me bags that were under $100 and I guess that's what they thought I looked like I could afford because when I asked to see about the bags in the counter the lady said to me "don't even think about it" and I asked how much is that Chanel bag, she said "too much"and wouldn't even show it to me, she said it was "probably about $1700",she assumed I couldn't afford it. So unless you walk in there wearing designer clothes and looking fabulous, don't bother because they already have in mind the kind of demographics they want shopping in their store. I won't be coming back because of this prejudice.

Hidden gem in Westlake village. No need to go to Neimans or Nordstroms. Its all here at bargain prices. The best selection of vintage handbags I've seen since New York City. Channel, Louis Vitton, Hermes. Friendly and helpful staff. Just a few minutes off the 101 Ventura Freeway. Been there over 29 years . Got to be doing something right.
