Enjoyed the after party for the Joker premiere here on the outside patio. The food was great, well seasoned and ample. The service was excellent. Beautiful views from the outside patio over Los Angeles all the way to Santa Monica.

A great historic hotel on the sunset strip in West Hollywood. Encompasses old time charm and historic Hollywood. Great staff and service. The pool and restaurants are top notch. The hotel does suffer from the traditional failings of a very old building, however it does seem that the hotel is undergoing some renovations. Overall just a great place to stay in LA.

The highest caliber of style and service is what the Sunset Tower Hotel represents. No detail is overlooked by their wonderfully attentive hotel staff. We enjoyed every minute of our stay in this iconic LA establishment.

One of the few places left from an older area that still excludes class and grace. The staff is friendly and top notch. We were able to check in early and received a lovely room upgrade. I absolutely loved the fact that all the beverages and snacks in the room were complimentary (snacks and alcoholic beverages). I’ve never been to a hotel before that didn’t charge for the minibar, so that was really nice. The morning we were checking out, we enjoyed a nice breakfast in the enclosed room. I was in a rush to get to work and everyone was very accommodating and helpful. Throughout my stay, I was able to text the hotel for anything I needed. I would 100% stay here again!

Being in showbiz and the art world I stay at a lot of hotels from basic to upscale. This time I was on a staycation. No business just relaxation. I’ve been to this hotel before when it was the Argyle prior to Mr Klein purchasing and restoring it and have been as a guest of clients and friends during award show season since he took ownership . However this was my first time staying here on my own accord.
Let’s get to the details… my room was on the 12th floor and had an outdoor terrace with amazing views reaching all the way from West Hollywood to Los Feliz (you can see the Griffith Park observatory from there) to DTLA, and century city. I booked one of the suites I believe it was the premiere suite. Nice size living room with floor to ceiling windows… every room in my suite had a gorgeous view of the city. There was a dining table with 4 comfortable leather chairs in a corner of the room that had romantic lighting and some kind of rich beautiful wood on the walls. (the area where the dining table was gave me old mobster vibes ! Which I love!) The dining area reminded me of Chasen’s which was one of my fav restaurants that no longer exists but if you’ve been to Chasen’s then you know the vibe.
I’m a soak in a bath kind of woman and darling let me tell you the bathtub in my room was heavenly! Had to be at least 3 feet deep and wide enough for 2 if that’s your type of fun lol. There was a window in the shower overlooking Sunset Blvd and beyond. As a writer/film maker I need those types of mental escapes to allow my mind to wander. Not only is the view and bathtub amazing , they also provide you with tea candles and bath salts for an extra relaxing vibe! I have super sensitive skin and the bath products were high quality and did not break me out or make me itch!
About the mini bar: The full size bottles of premixed drinks are a lovely added touch . I’m very picky about my liquor and I think the drinks were perfect.
The food is very good. We ordered room service several times during our stay and they were quick to bring the food and very nice and accommodating . Actually everyone who works there is kind and friendly but one person stands out and that is Dimitri (I hope I spelled it right). He is a young man with an old soul. A gentleman and a scholar as my grandpa would say :)
Dimitri makes everyone feel important. He’s warm and inviting and goes the extra mile. I feel like he exemplifies what this kind of hotel stands for. Thanks Dimitri and the rest of the team at the Sunset Tower Hotel for making our stay one to remember . To the owner Mr Klein , as a member of the Los Angeles conservancy I’d like to thank you for breathing new life into a building that is home to so much show biz history. A building that is a star in its own right architecturally speaking. Your design elements are perfect … stepping into the hotel guests seem to travel back to a time when everything was just a lil more glamorous. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You’re a rare one.
Walkability: Great area to walk and sight see.

It’s a very nice property. It’s located on Sunset Boulevard. Great location.
The views are amazing from the pool and the room as well.
Rooms are amazing: older style with modern twists.

We had a fantastic stay here from check in to check out. Such service is rare these days. The staff is consistently friendly and above-average attentive. You can tell that they are a well-rehearsed team and some have been working there for a long time. All processes work smoothly.
The location on Sunset Blvd is great. We had a very good view of LA.
Since there is no parking garage, the car was left directly at the entrance to the valet service. When we returned to the hotel in the evening it was a bit stressful at times as the restaurant was always very busy.
The suite was very large, high quality and stylishly furnished and very clean.
The air conditioning worked great and the bed was comfortable. We always slept very well, even on some nights with the window open.
The bathroom was incredibly stylish and also a reasonable size.
All in all, the stay was really perfect and we can recommend the hotel without reservation.

The staff is perfection! From the front desk you have a talented group always trying to make your stay as wonderful as possible: and they did! The staff at the Sunset Tower Grill and the Terrace is beyond reproach.
Rooms: The room was lovely with a view to die for. Very comfortable and quiet.
Food and drinks: Simply wonderful! Great to see Dimitri again. His staff at dinner are courteous, professional and unpretentious. Angel, our morning server, was just most impressive and very kind.

My experience of my stay at Sunset is tainted by being charged an extra 200USD+ in fees. Also, Sunset does not even bother to explain and or rectify.

I really wanted to love this hotel - the history, the Art Deco architecture, a celeb hotspot, sadly, I was disappointed. Yes, it is an old hotel which has tried to retain the Hollywood glamour, but it just comes off as a bit tired and worn. Not to mention that half of The Tower Bar was under renovation during our stay (Labor Day Weekend). There is so much potential but I think that it may be time for a new owner to reinvent this place…
Some cons (for me). The pool is in the restaurant, so if you’re looking for a private and relaxing time, this isn’t it. Also, we had a daily breakfast credit through Amex but only used it once because the food was so meh.
The complimentary mini bar is a nice touch; however, they do not restock. We spent 4 nights at the hotel (in the Grand Suite) and it would have been nice to have refreshed sparkling water every day. Also, the snack basket options are odd (Milanos, Kind Bars, Sour Cream & Onion Kettle Chips, M&Ms). A little tacky but maybe I don’t get it. It is LA.
Our room had a strange smell to it (old food, cleaning supplies?) and the dark, dingy hallways are straight out of a horror film.
The staff was pleasant but nothing over the top or notable as far as service.
I’m glad to have stayed here once but next time we’ll opt for the Chateau Marmont or the Edition.
