The employees here are so rude and unprofessional. I need the 1 case of champagne bottles. I was nicely asking them about it. A bleck male said NO. That's fine. I was asking if you have a box, then I will buy individual and put them in a box. Again he said no and left.

I like the EE's @ this store but sopped shopping @ it approx. 1.5 years ago. S&F has limited their weekly coupons to those who have smart phones (I do not own one). Contacted S&F twice regarding this and was blown off twice with ZERO response. I will no longer shop @ S&F due their lack of corporate response.

Had to come on here and say this. I come here a lot for last minute items and wanted to say what I found ridiculous. Not upset that there was a long line but more upset over the fact an employee cuts in line to have her items paid for first instead of ringing up customers already in line first that is not the service that is expected. The employee might be in a hurry but so are other people who are there especially if they've been there first. This was on a Sunday afternoon around 4pm.

Never more than 1 or 2 cashiers,Slowest cashiers... you're in a hurry.... better go elsewhere.Not a sense of urgency in their bones.Ever.. Bathrooms are dirty and NO PAPER products. No toilet paper,toilet seat covers or hand towels in bathroom.. And You sell these items...

While waiting to pay for my items I asked the cashier Kenia, if she could break a $100 bill. She said she could for as long as I don’t mind it in fives and singles, to which I responded I don’t mind. Then she said she couldn’t do it because she’d be out of change. So why did she agree to it to begin with??? So I paid for 2 out of my 3 items with a credit card and wanted to pay for the remaining item in cash with the $100 bill. She said she couldn’t accept it because I’d take all her change. I said she can’t refuse my method of payment for no legitimate reason so she called her manager, Israel to come out. He came out and confirmed that he wouldn’t take my cash to pay for the item. Keep in mind this is not a possible fake bill situation because they hadn’t even handled the bill yet. Anyway I told Israel that the cashier first agreed to give me the change in fives and singles, probably expecting that I would decline. When I didn’t, she retracted the offer. So I said for one that’s not right, had she said no from the beginning, I would have been fine with it. Second, they can’t refuse my method of payment just because it doesn’t suit them. His response was that he can say and do whatever he wants because he’s the supervisor. I ended up paying for the item with a credit card and walked over to Trader Joe’s across the street where the employees are professional and have integrity. Just like that I got change from a cashier who made me feel valued. Smart and Final staff basically ganged up on me and tried to humiliate me in front of other customers. They even put the item I was trying to purchase next to the register as if they anticipated that I was going to grab it and run. Had they been nice about it, I wouldn’t be writing this review. I mean I get it, they’re a business and they need the change. Maybe they were running low and I wouldn’t have wanted to wipe them out of all their change as a courtesy to other customers. But it was the way they went about it and how they treated me that made the experience appalling. Israel and Kenia are so far from being decent human beings, let alone customer service staff, that they’re just laughable.

I came by here yesterday on my lunch break, i was struggling to find the entrance to this building and was attacked by a homeless man who was hanging out by one of multiple locked doors. he grabbed me by the backpack and threw me into a pile of glass from the window he'd just smashed. i told the first employee i saw and he just laughed and didnt care, offered no help for my bleeding arms. just very disappointing. Why does LA have to be like this? why do we pay so much to live in anarchy? no resident signed up for this

Smart & Final is such a well-known store, I won't try to describe it in detail, other than to say it is sort of halfway between a warehouse store like Costco and a regular grocery store like Ralph's. Very good selection of vegetables, very good selection of household products ranging from barbecue grill cleaners to picnic supplies. As for groceries , meats, and frozen food , also a good supply , frequently in larger sizes that are available at Ralph's. Good parking, efficiently run store, and literally next to Trader Joe's. If it is at all convenient to you, it's worth checking out for sure.
