I like the gym but too often people are sitting on a machine using their phone and not the machines while others are waiting or trying to dominate 2 machines at the same time while others are waiting. Staff should do something about this.

John Reed West Hollywood is clean and has numerous equipment for use. Never had an issue to find myself waiting long for my turn at the machines.
Only thing I dislike is non-validated parking but if you can finish in 2 hours, it cost $3 which is pretty manageable.

I was really interested in possibly joining this gym but they would not allow me without paying $50. Now I see why they have 3 stars on yelp

The staff is really amazing. Silver is really approachable for any questions or concerns. The Manager Taylor recently helped me with a membership issue. My friend was impressed with the customer service that he signed up for a membership too. I love the facilities and it doesnt get to crowded when I go.
I wish one of the assault curved treadmills was in the xfit/squat rack room. The current location is on the opposite side of the gym. Maybe in the future? :crosses fingers::

Why is this place sooo hot? Do they just try to to save money on AC and they just don’t turn on.

I love John Reed gym in West Hollywood. I've read the complaints of others and I don't necessarily agree. Yes, it would be nice if they furnished shower towels, but no big deal to bring my own. Parking expense is understandably an issue for many. For me it's not an issue. The shirtless men walking around, no problem as long as they look good. The equipment is good. The music is good. As almost everyone agrees, the staff is very freindly and helpful when needed. I'm looking forward to the opening of the pool. I've been a member of many gyms throughout my life. John Reed is my favorite.

Great gym, tacky yet fun, memorable decor, motivating, towel service, only downside is parking: $3 for 90 min, but if you go a minute over, you pay an extra $10, so you have to be rushing even more to make the 90 min. It adds up, and you have to do it if the popular machines/weights are taken by the gym heads. It defeats the purpose of being at a gym that wants people to lounge around. Hopefully it’s resolved soon.

Nice gym but doesnt have any options for people. That visit the city! Just a really expensive day pass. Should add at least week passes for travelers!

Unfortunately, my experience was very bad. A day pass will cost you USD 50,00, plus USD 4.50 for parking if you stay for 2 hours. In general, you will be paying 160 dollars a month plus 4.50 x 24 if you work 6 times a week, which leads to 108 dollars of parking only. The parking alone will cost you another membership.
PARKING NOT INCLUDED!? That's a red flag to start! So your overall bill will be 108 dollars for parking and a 160-dollar monthly fee, bringing the total of USD 268 dollars a month.
Honestly, you can get a better value for your money. Other gyms charge 49.00 a month and offer free parking. The downtown John Reeds offer 2 hours of free parking, why this one can't do the same?
Unfortunately, the number of equipment is limited, the functional area only has 10lbs dumbbells max, the music is still loud and they are not adjusting it, and the shirtless dudes walking around are still there. Do yourself a favor, save your money, and go to another gym, it is overpriced and you still have to pay for parking and accept sweaty shirtless dudes around, there is only one restroom downstairs, the pool is not even ready, and it should be 60 dollars a month instead of paying for 268 a month with parking... please avoid and do not waste your time here.

I love this gym! Before the WeHo location opened, I attended the location downtown. This location is much better. I appreciate the layout and how there is always space. The only area that can feel cramped is the free weight station but it’s still much better than the downtown location in my opinion.
The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. I typically come at opening time and the morning crew is all smiles at 5 am.
My only suggestion is to dim the lights by the stair master if possible. The stair master is a pretty tall machine & the lights glare right in your eyes.

I was so excited for this gym… To me it had a club atmosphere, and super fun vibe but at the end of the day, it’s just got horrible amenities… Especially for the price… No towels… The music is incredibly loud… Uncomfortably loud… There have been numerous complaints, and they keep saying oh, this is our brand. Well, your brand is running people away…… And not to mention no validated parking… It’s like dating someone hot with no personality or substance…… Canceled my membership?

Good value. Nice and new. Good selection of classes and lots of equipment. They don’t give you towels for the shower which is tacky. They could do a better job of cleaning (especially the locker rooms).
