My older cat was on his way out. I called them on a Monday morning and they were able to see us right away. It was so hard losing my baby boy but the staff was so amazing and genuine.
Thank you so much for helping Mowgli feel comfortable during his last moments. I will never forget the compassion you showed.

Brought in my cat for diarrhea problems and they dealt with him quickly. Took me home with plenty of medication to help my poor kitty out. Within a day, he’s already better and doing great! Thank you guys for the help.
Staff was kind and respectful and the vet was amazing as well ?

The staff and doctors at West Hills are exceptional. When you bring your animals in, they are receptive and ready to care for them. Everyone is very professional and caring every step of the way. The only thing is that most procedures are pretty expensive, but having a pet plan for your animal helps cushion the costs.

I live out of town and have come to WHAH various times with my pet when I am visiting my mom in the area and something unexpectedly happened. I have been to several vet’s where I live, and I feel like my most recent experience with Dr. Tyler shows how much WHAH is a cut above the rest in terms of caring and making sure that your dog gets the best treatment plan. Dr. Tyler was approachable, very kind, and made sure I got the information I needed for my elderly dog that has a lot of health issues. My future plan is to come back to WHAH for my dog’s next physical and plan it for when I am back in West Hills.

Dr. Hengst is an excellent vet. She’s patient, empathetic, explains things well, and never makes you feel rushed. In February, she had to give us some very sad news about our cat Lewis. Her ultrasound revealed a serious heart condition, and she recommended us to VSEC for emergency care (which has proven to be another excellent veterinary service). Thanks to Dr. Hengst’s diligence, Lewis is still alive today.

WHAH has been taking care of my dog since 2021 and I am so appreciative of their genuine care, friendliness, support with me having my first dog in my lifetime. I want to give a special shout out to Maya at the front desk who is very intelligent and answers my "dumb" questions simply by putting me at ease and comfort. Recently, my dog had a yeast infection in both ears and had to be sedated and I am so thankful of how concerned and kind the staff was at WHAH. They even followed up with me the very next day to check his status, just because they care. Thank you, WHAH - we adore you all!

They took my cat in a very short notice to check her eye infection. They treated my baby with so much care and passion and also did a comprehensive check on top of our current problem. I am glad to have chosen them as carers of my cat.

Dr. Hengst has always been calm, considerate and genuinely kind while I have navigated the varying life stages of my four pups over the years. I have had some absolutely horrendous vet experiences that made me hesitant to express my concerns, but Dr. Hengst has never once made me think twice about asking a question while discussing treatment options. As a dog-mom, am so grateful to have her as a empathetic voice of reason!

It pains me to leave this review bc the staff was professional and caring towards pets. However, when I brought 2 cats in for a wellness exam and bloodwork, it was $1600. Over 3x my last vet. I balked at the price but cats r so stressed by car rides and vet visits that I agreed. They explained that they have higher standards than “independent ma and pa vets,” but all I heard was corporate greed. They said their bloodwork was more extensive and sent out to a lab. Hence 3x the cost. They had a pat answer to every question that felt rehearsed. They estimated further necessary care to be an additional $8-$14k. I wondered out loud how many ppl could actually afford that. I told them I would need to verify the costs before moving forward. I called 2 previous vets and a number of vet referrals from friends to get estimates on treatment. W/o fail, they LAUGHED at the estimates and assured me even worst-case scenario prices would b substantially less. I ended up going to a vet - recommended by 3 friends - that did 7 extractions on my elder cat that was half the price of the lowest estimate at West Hills for NO extractions and 5x less than the price for multiple extractions. I wasn’t bargain shopping. I just wanted a vet that put pet welfare first. Never before had I been to a vet that put profits before pets and their people. It’s outrageous and sickening. We have a shortage of vets so anyone who works at West Hills could find employment elsewhere if they weren’t aligned with corporate greed. There is no world where I would trust them to put my pets’ welfare first.

We have had several dogs that have been taken care of by the amazing staff at West Hills Veterinary. The Doctors really care about the animals and do absolutely everything possible to make sure the fur babies have what they need. I send my friends and family there too.
