Our family is very happy with Serenity Cat Sanctuary. They have the best selection of cats and kittens. The founder, Lori and her husband screen well, so that there is a perfect match between our family and the cat we bonded with. Unlike other places, if things don't work out, they insist on taking the cat back. It's like a family member we adopted.

Lori of Serenity Cat Rescue is very hands on with all of her rescue. Every little kitty matters. Lori makes sure that every adoption goes to the right home with the right kitty for the perfect fit. If I were a cat, I would want Lori looking after me, because every concern for the kitty is her concern.

Outstanding experience with this rescue! They care about who gets their rescues and they have fantastic foster parents. We adore our new cat and his transition into our home was a snap because of the high quality care and love he got! Support and adopt from them!'

I wish I could put zero. they never picked up the cat to be rescued it was for a woman who has cancer who needed her cat picked up. She was given the complete runaround after getting told to make sure she had all the vaccines for the cat. I tried to help by calling serenity for her my call was never returned.

we have been working with Serenity for a few months now , Lori and the volunteers are top notch and really have the animals best interest in mind when adopting out . we have helped rescue and foster many cats which Lori has found wonderful homes for , she really cares and I would not take our rescues anywhere else .

Do not get a cat here! Everything will seem good when you start but then inconsistancies will start to pop up. What got me was the contract that said i had to tell them when i moved where I worked and anytime i changed phone numbers, and the kicked if they found I breached it they can take the cat back and charge $2500. I did so much as to question this and the representative started to give wierd excuses as to why she couldnt bring the cat over (this was after i had bought specific toys and food as per her instruction which had me going to 4 different pet stores to actually find it) then after 3 days of excuses she said they had to terminate the agreement due to "you didnt want to adopt his brother as well" and "your issues with the contract made us realize this agreement has been bad since the beginning and we no longer feel comfortable doing business with you." If i could give 0 stars i would!!!

We saw a kitten at pet smart and went through a complete run around with the person who runs this rescue. She questioned us with trick questions without telling us what her criteria was to adopt one of her cats. I found her argumentative, rude, arbitrary and confrontive. I would stay away from this group, the worst experience for my 8 year old in forever. If someone is going to run an independent arbitrary operation in a major public corporation they should be held to the same standards as the rest of businesses. They should have to post their criteria and be held to them. Talk about discrimination! Isn't the world fighting against people like this?

I think child adoption would be easier then trying to adopt a cat from Serenity. They’re negligent about returning phone calls. Promised to email paperwork related to cat adoption and still haven’t received anything. I think PetSmart in Westlake Village need to be aware of how lackadaisical this organization is. The only one helpful was the shift manager at PetSmart on 12/1/2019 who showed me a cat I was very interested in and even he apologized for how Serenity is not conducting business. So far, very unimpressed!

It is really sad to see so much bad reviews on this responsible rescue place. I adopted a Siamese kitten from them, Pepper, a super sweet little girl! She is exactly what my dream cat looks like, I'm so lucky to have a chance to offer her a home. I think people should understand that "strict requirements " is needed. Lori sees these cats as her children, and adopting a cat means a responsibility for around 15 years. That is why she needs to be extremely careful about the adoption process. If you have rescued cats, you will understand that how important it is to restrict the adoption process. My experience was wonderful. Even though I was planning to move to Illinois right after I adopted Pepper, Lori still trusted me. As long as you showed you have the ability and determination to take care of the cat for the rest of its life, they would not make difficulties for you.

It has been 3 years since I adopted my pair of cats at Serenity place Rescue at the PetSmart in Westlake . I am really happy that Lori posts on the signs outside the cages that the 2 kittens in the cages are adopted together. Both cats play with each other and are happy thriving cats. Both male and female are now 3 years old and they have been the best pair we could ask for . To go through such strict regulations to adopt them is understandable . Home environment is crucial and families who adopt should always respect these strict rules. Our cats are a great example of what it means to live in a loving family . Thank you Lori for all of your support in making our family extremely happy and grateful to have them in our lives . Candy C.

Really bad ethics. These people got my kids excited about adopting a cat. After playing with it for 30 minutes and taking a walk to discuss adopting it the kids decided to move forward. The owners didn't tell me or the kids that there was any chance of us not getting to adopt this kitten. Two days later with crying kids their first animal adoption was a disaster thanks to Serenity Place. I would give them negative stars if possible due to lack of transparency and treatment of a 9, 6, and 2 year old.

I found this group at PetSmart. I do not recommend them! Though probably well-intentioned, they were consistently rude and demanding in every interaction I had with them. Terrific cats though!
