Been shopping here for years, literally for everything I need for my dog and cat. I am a Vital Care member for both my cat and my dog, and even have a Petco Credit Card. Loyal Customer here!Yesterday evening 10/25/23 @ around 7:45pm, for the first time.. I encountered a problem with my dogs food. I was pouring out the last of the bag and a chunk of food + mold came out of it. I was disgusted and immediately took the food and the bag to Petco to let them know. This is the Purina Pro Plan Specialized Sensitive Stomach 35lb bag. I can't remember the employees name, but I went in and explained what I had found.. I said I did not have a receipt however, I use my rewards # for every purchase and asked them to look it up. Her immediate response was I only had 30 days to return. I was actually shocked at her response. I didn't expect an apology from her, because it's not her fault the bag of food turned out to be bad, but I also didn't expect her attitude... this could really have made my dog sick. She made it seem as though I was just trying to get a free bag of food, but come on... for the amount of money I spend here... do you really think I would do all this for 1 bag of food. She questioned me endlessly, and it wasn't until I realized the exact date I purchased the bag that she acknowledged the date, even though it was on her screen already. (I only remembered this because I got home from vacation that same day and saw that we were out of food so I rushed to Petco) I bought this bag of food just a few weeks ago - October 9th, to be exact.I added the date and time above because if Petco reviews these at all.. I believe the woman I dealt with may have been a lead or manager and may need some customer service training.2 Stars here because this is the first time I've had an issue with an employee with a poor attitude, they're not all bad. As a matter of fact, I've had nothing but great experiences and had not encountered a rude employee here before last night.

I'm giving a 5 stars because of Tiffany, she was immensely helpful, I came into the store kind of lost and she sensed that and asked me if I needed some help, I told her my situation with my uncles neglected dog, not only did she recommend a brilliant diy solution for my problem, but also asked if I needed anything else, she made excellent recommendations from a brush, to healthy snacks for the dog to preserve the coat, she also had a lot of knowledge to spread about animals! She found me shampoo in a heartbeat, and was really kind to my uncles dog. I'm thoroughly impressed by her outstanding customer service.Quick shout out to Andy who checked my items out at the front, signed me up for discounts with my info, displayed genuine curiosity and complimented my uncles pup! Very friendly and playful staff. Highly recommend this store for all your pets needs.

My son was so excited to go get his hamster he trip on his own little feet right out side the store. Well, I was picking them up in store employee came out. Make sure we were OK and went to go get us ice. Every one was so help full and amazing!!! Star Wars, clean everything was organized. Employees went above and beyond.

Don't expect any type of customer service at this location. We were in line waiting to pay, no other registers available. The man working the register was too busy talking about personal interests. Didn't even apologize or let us know that he will be right with us. Nothing.

Poor customer service. Rude cashier and argumentative. The tone is combative, please train your rude staff what is customer service so we can pay for our purchase and not be subjected to combative behavior. I wonder if your management is reviewing your yelp rating.

We happened in here by chance: having had dinner at Sizzler with the kids and walking to Yogurtland. We just put a deposit on a new Frenchie puppy after meeting him at the breeder, so we were excited to get "Hershey" some swag. In addition to buying the requisite toys, sweaters, harnesses and the like, we also got some good advice from the staff working there. The two sales people we met were well versed in Frenchie's and agreed to continue the puppy food our breeder was using and recommending. They also gave good advice on when to microchip our little guy and the obvious caution walking him since Frenchie's are, sadly, routinely jacked from their owners. The place is on the darker side, more likely the paint than the lighting, but the parking is good and the clerks are better. It's unfortunate it's so out of the way for us, because my wife and I really liked the staff working here. If we have to head out to meet our breeder again or if the kids want to go the Sizzler near here rather than Fullerton, than we'll have an excuse to come back. For us, the staff will be a bright spot in a relatively dark store...

Visited on 08/20/22. Boyfriend and I wanted to stop by and look at cute birdies. This Petco is huge but there weren't a lot of customers when we were there. Very clean inside and employees were actually doing work instead of chatting around/gossiping when there's downtime. Overall 4/5.

I went in right now at 8:15PM (45 mins before closing) and was ready to pick fish out. When we asked the worker at the cashier, he quickly said it was closed. He was not doing nothing and another worker walking around wasn't either. I don't understand why Petco would be open but not have the fish section open for purchase.

Visited my local Petco store to buy some gadgets for my new pup. My hubby and I walked in - no greeting [all good] and began to look for crates. We walked around the store a few times, searching and we found them on top of the shelves where the dog food is at. There was an employee in the next aisle scanning inventory - paid no attention to us - no biggie, but just note that employees here will not go out of their way for you. My hubby pulled the box down from on top - two boxes - to compare the crates. I looked it up online and saw that it was on sale - Reg 120$ but online, it was for sale for 50$ - so went to the cashier to check the price and the cashier scanned telling us it was 120$ and we told him if he can match the online price and he did!!! I totally did not know Petco would do that, but note - you must tell the cashier because the employees won't know....so it seems. Overall I'm okay with the service here and appreciated the cashier for adjusting the price. I'll visit again! Note - tip is included whether you like it or not

This is by far the worst Petco around. Whittier and La Habra are worlds away from this one. The staff is unfriendly and hard to find. Checkout is confusing. I had to move 3 times, and I had 180lbs of litter in my cart. What is going on here???? And let's not talk about the parking- horrible. Also, while leaving with my 180lbs of litter, my cart got stuck in the door going out...an employee was walking by and didn't even offer to help!?!? But a customer who was standing outside further away then the employee ran over to help me. This place needs help.

Been here plenty of times and used to spend as much as I wanted on needed items and prior experiences have been decent. Came in for some aquatic plants and decided to check out the Bettas. Small selection and immediately noticed 4 dead Bettas on the spot and a dying one. Asked an employee about the conditions, just giving away the dying Betta and was told "they can't do that". Asked what they where going to do with it and advised is would be taken to the back and it would go through whatever it's going through (most likely flushed). Advised if that was logical rather than giving it to someone who can possibly give it a second chance. And he stuck to his response. I've spent good money here and did not want to use that as an debate point but to not want to give away a possible 1-2 dollar wholesale "item" over valuing its life was very disappointing. Not that they or petco cares but not coming back to this place. All it takes is one bad experience, Petco.

Horrible customer service in the grooming department. Had an appointment that I booked 2 weeks in advance. Got a confirmation text four days before the appointment, but a few hours later it was canceled because the assigned groomer was sick although I didn't pick a specific groomer. I was instructed to call them but they were the ones that canceled. Apparently, they don't know how to make outgoing calls. When calling the woman that answered assumed I was someone else and didn't ask who I was or when my appointment was. It was very irritating going in conversation circles with her because she didn't ask information. I will never book an appointment because of the lack of incompetence, the many dogs I heard crying in the background on the phone call made it hard to trust them enough to have my dog in the care of them.
