As my first school year at south hills academy nears its end... I can say I am impressed at the education my 4 year old kindergartener received in her first year of school. I will say I have had my complaints about and with the school, but now with "head of school" gone I feel comfortable sending my child back next year. The previous "head of school" (Mr. Emmanuel Lacoste) seemed like a dictator and I was unsure about sending my daughter there next year. However, he recently abruptly resigned and I have noticed the administration moving towards positive change. The majority of the staff are very nice and always saying hello. I have had my complaints with the school regarding communication which have been addressed appropriately. The school now has provided better communication and they seem more willing to hear concerns. Previously I emailed the head of school and never received a response. I called many times and spoke to the head of school one time and asked to meet with him. He assured me I could walk into his office anytime. The next day I went to try to meet with him, and he was unable to meet with me. I believe the school is headed in a positive direction and I plan to send both of my daughters there in the future. To those reading these reviews... there are evident fake reviews by people who find it necessary to make fake accounts and try to hide behind a negative review. I'd urge you to ask a parent about their experience rather than just read a review from someone who may be a previous parent or ex employee.

BAD School Not a thoughtful, cultured, responsible and wise principal. The country's educational policies, advanced educational ideas and concepts all need to be implemented by the principal in daily education and teaching practice, but the principal of this school is not a doer, let alone a thinker.

I brought my kids over from public school to South Hills Academy last year. All of the kids at SHA are incredibly sweet and kind. This school is absolutely amazing. The entire staff is incredibly friendly, professional, and their number one priority are the students and their education. The academic courses the school offers are superior to any other private school, and especially to the public education system. I HIGHLY recommend this school to all parents.

Negative (-) infinity star!-BRIBES STUDENTS -NO GOOD EXAMPLE (Worker gossiping about parents teacher their own coworkers their boss, etc)-EXAGGERATING COMMERCIAL: they will introduced you to Lab, sport area, etc but don't expect that your kids will have an chance to do so. All they will do is set you up with web study teacher come in tell ask what is a what is b look like apart from that they wont explain any extra even when you stuck with work they cant even help you find the solution(some teachers try come back in 3days with unsolved problems to the assignments that they assigned on the web by themselves) and tell us to solve problems by ourselves. No solution for the assignment they give no explanation. All matters to them is you know how to do get grade if your don't then you stuck and repeat the process until you learn by yourself but how do they expect student to learn without proper instructions and explanation!STATE OR RELATED DEPARTURES SHOULD INVESTIGATE!There are a lot of judgements secretary front office teachers workers they will judge and gossip about students and their coworkers around the school area. (You wouldn't want your kids to be in the environment like this)You wont get you Deposit back ever! As you realize they will be school deposit money for every students to enroll so incase your kids break something in school. They wont return it to you and neglected it when you ask about it.I was experiencing it by myself i went to high school their for2 years as international student (paid extra extreme price for LOW Quality knowledge!) Some teacher are great (at least get to learned how injustice the world was). But some who were teach junior and senior cant even solve grade3 math! Plus when some teacher Run late will BRIBES students with food, drinks, extra credit, etc (teachers can be late but ever students run late equal punishment) Students were speaking Chinese more than English! So many injustices going on inside school. Ask me more what you guys want to know about this hell in real world! IF SOMEONE KNOW MORE INFORMATION ABOUT LAWS AGAINST PRIVATE SCHOOL LET ME KNOW PLEASE BECAUSE IM CORRECTING AN EVIDENT TO FIGHT FOR MY JUSTICE and another future students(kids) for not becoming this school victim like me.

Don't be fooled by their website. Look up the worker reviews on Indeed! They're very insightful.I want to start this off with something weird I saw when I was trying to figure out the entrance of the school. I walked all the way to the left (facing the school) and saw clothes hanging up on a fence with a trailer on property. I thought this was already weird. The cost to bring your child here is the same as a really nice one in Glendora. This school looks like an old, underfunded public school while it costs almost the same as a school that has advanced technology classes for young kids. The principal or head of staff (whatever he calls himself) tried too hard to make it seem like the students like him, but it seemed like they sorta didn't. He also only addressed the father of the child more during the tour, which we both found pretty inappropriate. There was a really weird feeling in the environment when he interacted with some of the teachers. He seemed to be sort of trying to figure out where we stood with religion, social views, etc to try to change the subjects and vibe of the tour to whatever our beliefs and views might be which felt awkwardly forced. They try to advertise the dance, art and music rooms but they remind me of seriously underfunded public schools. There's this school that we compared this school to. We compared prices, tours, everything. It was surprisingly cheaper to go to Foothill Christian School on Baseline Rd in Glendora. It's a VERY nice school. We can definitely see where the money is going. Shoot, the Foothill Christian School has a professional Italian catering company that provides their students' lunches. This South Hills Academy gives me the impression that they save as much money as possible with the lunches they give. The office looks really nice compared to the classrooms. The classrooms are dark and gloomy while the office has a nice and bright atmosphere. At the end of the tour, I had reached out to have the information packet handed to me since they were about to give it but he instead went past me and handed it to the father. Again, seems very toxic. That's some big red flags to show when trying to impress people during a tour.Needless to say, we will not be bringing kiddo here for plenty of reasons. We are just absolutely baffled that the cost is about the same, more depending on what payment plan you choose (it's more expensive if you choose a more spread out payment plan), than a REALLY nice school that seems incredible in comparison. I hope these details help others.

This was thus far the worst school and teachers I've ever met in my life. The teacher we had for our child (Ms. Anna), was the meanest of them all. She neglected my son while was in the class, never responded to any of his questions, tell him that other kids don't want to play with him and most of all... she lied to us and to the administration. She was stressed out because of her own family situation, she get overwhelmed easily... she takes her stress and anger on our child. Be aware of this school, they will take your money, pretend they have the resources and the best education system, but in fact they have nothing and just want your money! Also, the administration lacks professionalism and any real administration! We met with the head of school at one point, he said if any kid misbehave he will use taser gun!!!!! Yes, you heard it right. I'm really not sure how this school function and under who's direction. The worse decision we made was having my son suffer with this teacher in this horrible school for the time period he was there. If there is a zero or even minus stars system, I'll give them that. I do not recommend this school. They are after your money not your child's education.

For a private school it's not worth it . Not a place I recommend for people who want to grow or have their children in . I Had my child had to move due to the fact that it's all about money . New teachers short staff all the time the head of the school and directors are not what they say . I really pray and hope this changes . Covid has made a lot of restrictions teachers should be tested and they do not .I was expecting more from the area I grew up but I am glad I moved .

My son attends South Hills Academy and LOVES it! I truly recommend SHA. During pandemic, school was well organized and informed parents every step of the way with new ideas and ways to move forward with teaching. All Teachers are amazing! Each child is treated with care, and are always evaluating student's outcome. Mr. Lacoste school principal is always engaging with students and parents. He has great strategies and decisions that make SHA be a FANTASTIC school. If you have any doubts, meet with Mr. Lacoste, he will put you at ease. Always getting straight to the point! Thank you to all South Hills Academy staff, you are all amazing!

We love SHA! They really helped us alot during pandemic and gave quality education to our child. My daughter loves all her teachers and staff! They also have great extracurricular activities/ after school programs like dancing, reading/ homework club that my little one enjoys. They also have a small library were my kid likes to borrow books! So blessed to be in SHA. Your kid wil grow spiritually, academically and socially educated . We enjoyed the recent concert outdoors. All the staff worked so hard and we are grateful watching our kids sing their heart out and sing some praise songs to our Lord. It was so beautiful! We also get to see all the artwork of the children! So many amazing school events are done and my child just loves going to SHA thank you SHA for everything!

I love this school!! I've been sending my son here for 3 years. South Hills Academy has a great preschool program. My child has learned to read, write, and add! They are ahead of other public schools and excel academically. Their whole administration is on top of everything. They are also very safe and sanitary, regarding covid.

South Hills Academy is a great Christian school. I am so pleased both academically and spiritually for the strong foundation that is being instilled in both my girls. SHA has a dedicated and compassionate group of qualified teachers and staff that care for my kids. They provide a wonderful learning environment and outstanding academic support to help kids strive for excellence.

If I could give zero stars I would. This school is truly a disgrace and does not care about the well being of any child. We sent my son here thinking it was a prestigious school where he would receive the best education and care. We were very much wrong. Within the 2020-2021 school year many issues arose and each time I informed the teacher or administrator an excuse was made or it was turned around saying they were never informed by my son. Each time he was hit or bit it was dismissed by the preschool Administrator Michelle Clayton stating "he is a tough boy who doesn't cry". Kids are not safe in this environment nor are they properly watched. After expressing my personal experiences on social media other families have come forward with their horrific experiences that occurred while their children attended this school. I truly hope they take control of this bullying and child neglect situation to better themselves as an institution.
