Jenny and Chris were amazing. Extremely helpful and moved our large storage unit haul into the appropriate bins super quickly. They were dynamic and moved everything on the fly and were sweet and gracious. Highly recommend the donation center. They were clear with the acceptance criteria (they put things straight into the floor, so make sure furniture is up to snuff! Anything excessively scuffed or with water stains need to go somewhere else). Clear and concise. It was an in and out quick visit. Donations are 9 am and 8 pm drop off. Just make sure it’s clean and they’ll be able to move it quickly. They also accept working electronics like speakers. It’s pretty busy as well (drop offs in the back- there is a sign directing you).

I went yesterday to drop off a few items. There was other people as well dropping of their items. No workers were insite. Then a woman comes out very snappy and rude ordering people around on how and where they should be placing their items. I witnessed her being very rude to a lady.I spoke up when she very rudely and snappy told my son not to place the toys in the linen container . So I told her there's no toy container for toys. She then raised her voice and began saying that's what I'm taking out now the toy container. I asked to speak to the manager she said I am the manager. Shes obviously lacking on her people skills. I will no longer drop off any items there.

Love coming to this Salvation Army. But the Young girls workers are alittle rude to us customers. While looking through the dresses, one worker was yelling excuse me excuse me.. Why couldn't she place the clothing item in another section? Idk ,It seems like every time i come here, they always acting rude and with a ugly attitude. ?♀️It's not hard to be alittle nice to us customers. And put things away in another section. Or atleast say excuse me in a nicer manner.

I call ahead of time to ask if the donation center is open one lady says it's open till 8, then I get there another lady says they closed at 6... they ended up taking it but 20 minutes before the store is officially closed the manager starts yelling store close when there are about 10 customers still shopping I am walking to the counter with 10 minutes till 8 and the manager comes up to me and says I said the store close. I said "I'm sorry, doesn't it close at 8" and she just walked away and as I looked around there was still 2 families shopping god this lady needs a chill pill cuz wtf the store hours say they close at 8 and I wander the only one in the store shopping still.

What a great place to thrift shop!! WOW! This is the largest salvation army I've ever seen. I would always choose to shop at the Salvation Army over Goodwill any day.

5:40PM and they had already announced to stop shopping. Then an employee started to actually address us directly to go get in line. I asked her, “Don’t you close at 6?” and she said “yes, but we want to go home.” Then I go pay and there’s a broken item I’m asking if they’ll discount and the cashier actually asks me if I broke it (she asked upset with an attitude like to say that’s why she wouldn’t discount it). I was taken aback, so I asked if she was serious. She said it was a simple question that I could answer with a yes or no and that I didn’t need to give her attitude… very confusing type of customer service if you could call it that. I don’t understand how that hasn’t been addressed when more reviews say the same thing.

Mixed feelings towards this location - I've had so many good finds (white dress pants, navy sweatpants, Dickies scrubs) but on 2 occasions, they have closed the store before the posted closing hours. The sign says 8 PM on weekdays, but I've been here twice where they have started dimming the lights and announcing that they're closed at 7:30 PM. Overall, I'll likely return due to the inventory and organization of this location, but I'd recommend keeping the early close times in mind if you want to have sufficient time to shop.

I use to be an avid GoodWill shopper but with their crazy high prices, it wasn't worth my time. Luckily I stumbled upon the West Covina Salvation Army. But like all businesses there's good, great, and bad things about the business.Good: This store is big. Like it could have been an office supply store big. Very clean that is well lit with beautiful display cases (kudos to whoever is doing them). Floor is always clean and without trash. I hardly see merchandise on the floor. Great: Most employees are awesome. The guys, Ivan, Shawn, Andrew, and Christian are all attentive and willing to help. The manager with poofy hair that always walks around with a smile, she's top notch. She even demonstrated how strong a rocking horse was, by getting on it, to assure me that it would be safe for my niece. Jackie always cracks me up and assures that I have a great shopping experience. Camille is always super friendly, patient, communicates well, professional, and always has the "people first attitude". The lady with the curly black hair, always treats me and my boy well. Bad: This store is big, so I don't know why they removed many display shelves. Making the items seem more cluttered and harder to shop. It seems like they want more room for the kids to run around. Well speaking of being rude, most employees are awesome. But I've always gotten attitude from the boy with the green hair. He's just rude. Luckily this bad apple doesn't ruin the bunch. I just avoid him. Overall if you like to thrift shop, try this store out. Treasures can be found here. The store is clean, well lit, employees are great, and prices are still ok. I hope they don't follow Goodwill's greedy pricing practices.

such a joke I am a homeless 18-year-old and tried to contact him to see if I should take the bus over to pick up a gas card in order to be able to finally get gas in my vehicle as I have been stuck 3 miles away from the store in a parking lot for the last two weeks because I ran out of gas i have called several times and they just let it ring…. Bet you they are using the cards for themselves and are just using the homeless to receive they’re donations.

On Sunday October 2 the store in West Covina on amar and Azusa closed at 530. Their supposed hours is 6:00 pm. I was in the store shopping and the girl turned off the lights at 528. She said everybody the store is closed come now. Time to come and pay. I went to tell the cashier it's only 528 the store door out front says 6pm sunday's. I had a cart full of stuff I left everything and the cashier said the manager wants to close now. I'm very disappointed. There was enough employees to close at 6pm and enough customers to do business but I bet they will clock out at 6.what kind of business is this? With enough business and time and closing early ? Because the manager doesn't want to work.

This is only for my experience donating:This location is further for me, but its so much nicer than the location on Citrus (Covina). The drop off is behind the store, clean and in an open area. You have to ask the employee for a receipt if you want one. There are bins for different items, so make sure you place your items in the right bins.Drop off was orderly and easy. I'm coming to this location from now on.

I absolutely love coming to the Salvation Army in the city of West Covina. There is one employee in particular who I wanted to Yelp about his name is VINCENT. He is ALWAYS So kind and helpful and has such a positive attitude to any individual who walks in. I hope this business recognizes his great attitude.
