I never expected to have a traditional Chinese Medicinal vet, but the McKays are neighbors who are highly recommended. They have been our dog' s vet for 3 years now, and they are fantastic! They are very thorough and systematic in their approach to medicine, and carefully explain benefits and drawbacks of holistic AND more conventional approaches. My dog has had recurrent UTIs and is now on a Chinese herb that has kept her from needing antibiotics for a year or so. In the meantime, they have given preventative medicine on a case by case basis, weighing the need before over prescribing heartworm and flea and tick meds. Gwen and George are consummate professionals who are kind, honest, and masterful in their work. Plus you will probably get a few bad puns if George can help it!

Amazing! I cannot say enough about Dr. George and his knowledge and kindness. My older dog has hip problems and arthritis. He has trouble walking. I've been told by other vets to just get a "harness". Dr. George did accupuncture, lasering and we are incorporating chinese herbs into his diet. Already after the first treatment, I see a difference. It's amazing. Thank you to Dr. George for his knowledge and evaluation of my senior dog.

These folks are absolutely awesome! They supported my cat when she was going through a really rough time. It is a husband and wife team, so you have the benefit of two great minds working together. They have so many non-toxic tools at their disposal, including acupuncture and Chinese medicine. They are truly interested in what is best for you and your fur-baby and will teach you things that you can do on your own. They showed me a specific type of energetic massage, demonstrated on my cat and video-taped it, so we could take over going forward. This couple was recommended to me by a friend who knows them well and has used their services in the past. I couldn't be more pleased. They are mobile so, they come to my house. No scary office visit for my pup. They are kind and patient and they really do love their work. I couldn't be more pleased.

I cannot say enough good things about this clinic. We came home to find our little dog unwilling to use one of his legs. Our regular vet indicated that he had a torn ligament in his knee and would need surgery. That surgery is pretty scary but the info on the web about alternatives was extensive but confusing. The surgeon was also a bit hesitant. We were very anxious. Thank goodness, friends recommended Drs George and Gwen. They have helped us , determine that it is probably not a torn tendon, work through treatment options and find a path to our doggie's health with which we feel very comfortable. It is a 1.5-2 hour drive each way from where we live but we have been glad to do it! What makes George and Gwen different / exceptional: - They know and use a broad span of disciplines spanning traditional and advanced, Western and Eastern. - They take the time to understand the situation fully rather than rushing to a quick recommendation. Based on all the possibilities they lay out a treatment path, along with what might lead to changes in that path. - They are very experienced and very humble. - They explain everything and tell you how you can best support your pet's health - They have very reasonable rates. - They work as a team, confirming or raising alternative ideas with each other as they work. - It is abundantly clear that they are very fine people and really, really care. I recommend the wonderful veterinarians without any reservations.

Gwen and George are the best. I lived in the country and they still were able to take on my dogs and cats for all their needs. If my animals needed surgery or blood draws , X-rays or just yearly exams they took care of all their needs Thank you so much.

WOW, we have been to a few different vets in the area, but nothing compares to Gwen and George! I too wish they saw human patients as well as animals! =) We bring our two large dogs to see them (a great dane and a rhodesian ridgeback). They see clients at their home, so they are able to watch the dogs running around for a few minutes before they start the physical exam. This is especially important for our dane, who we started bringing there for the treatment of his arthritis. We have seen great improvements in his stance, energy level, coat, and general well-being since we started going to see Gwen and George. Our dane gets accupuncture from George, and he takes chinese herbs to aid in his improvement. I love that both Gwen and George are at each appointment so they can bounce ideas off each other and confirm their findings with each other. I'm so thankful to have found these vets!
