There are mechanics who try to watch out for your wallet and try to diagnose the problem and do the right thing and fix only what's necessary and make appropriate suggestions; and then there're mechanics like Joe where everything transmission related requires a complete rebuild which costs $1,800+. I've taken 2 cars here now and first one had a CEL on the torque converter and he said the tranny needed to be rebuilt and there's no alternative; and for the next car I brought in with a CEL clearing indicating the speed sensors failing and I even showed him that particular model year is notorious with having those sensors failing over time, he still insisted nothing less than a $1,800 full transmission rebuild. I ended up having a mechanic change out the sensors for $80 and $65 parts and it's all good. It makes me ponder if I should have at least gotten a second opinion on my first car. So no... I wouldn't recommend this place. Unless you have done all your homework and are exhausted all your options, or your wallet is too fat.

My family go there for everything almost. I have got my car fixed 2 times so far after accident each time. They handle everything so you don't have to stress about anything. My car looked almost brand new after the repair. Although it is at least 30min-1hr drive one way, my family still goes there for most of our car issues.

If you're not Korean they'll try to scam you. I understand a good amount of Korean and the things I caught them saying is ridiculous. They try to steal customers from their neighbors too. Awful business practices

My family has been going to Tomato auto service as long as I can remember. I have had all my cars serviced by Mr. Jo since my first car and have used Tomato for all major and minor car issues. They are pretty flexible based on my schedule without compromising quality. My dad always trusted Mr. Jo and I am glad I didn't have to shop around to find a mechanic I can trust. I highly recommend Mr. Jo and Tomato!

Joe runs a professional shop. He is priced fairly, knowledgable, friendly and honest. He is definitely a great guy and trustworthy.

Absolutely the fairest and best place you could take your vehicle for repair. Joe gives you options to remove/replace your broken parts with 3rd party manufacturer or Original (OEM). He will tell you what needs fixing immediately and what can wait to be addressed later. I will definitely come back here again.
