We worked with Tom Balk over the last few months in the process of buying our first home and we couldn't be happier. First of all, Tom is incredibly easy to work with. He explained all of the details and what to expect throughout the entire process and took all of my (dozens) of phone calls. Professionally and friendly since day one. Second, Wells Fargo has the best mortgage rates in the industry by far. Glad we went with Tom and would recommend his services/Wells Fargo to anyone looking for a great experience.

Tom was amazing! We were initially working with one the of the big banks on our home purchase. But, thankfully, one of the real estate agents that my fiance had worked with in the past recommended we work with Tom. Tom did not disappoint. He was able to find a better loan product for us that much better suited our situation due to his knowledge of the market. From the beginning, Tom worked diligently to secure financing for us with a very quick turnaround time as we found a house a little sooner than we thought we would :-) Tom was always on top of things...he is super responsive and attentive. He called, texted and emailed to make sure that we were abreast of everything happening. Over the 3 months that we worked with Tom, we learned a lot about the process, market, and one another. He really takes the time to answer questions and educate you on the process. He makes you feel like you've known each other forever. Tom is a great guy and a true pleasure to work with. He was always polite and professional, and went the extra mile to ensure that we got across the finish line. Tom went above and beyond because we were on time constraints. He took our calls on the weekends and evenings when he was with his family (sorry Tom) to make sure our needs were met. I am so glad we called Tom. I would not hesitate to work with him again and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a home loan. As a matter of fact, Tom was so awesome that our agent from the big bank wanted his contact information.

Tom came highly recommended as a mortgage broker whose patience and knowledge enable him to work through a potentially challenging situation. He proved his ability once again. Conditions were stated up front, and the loan closed on time. Tom is very responsive and did an excellent job.

It was an absolute pleasure to work with Tom. He is the consummate professional and, as a bonus, a really good guy. We were referred to Tom by our realtor. Our prior experience buying a home and getting a loan left a very bad taste in our mouths, so we were leery. I am so glad we called Tom. Right out of the gate, he made us feel like old friends. He did not pressure us into loans or terms we did not want. At the outset he gave us a comprehensive list of documentation to compile (based on his many years of experience). Once we got him those documents, we were basically done. He had anticipated correctly what would be needed. This made the process was smooth and painless. Tom was also extremely responsive and very attentive. He kept in contact via email and telephone and always responded extremely quickly to any inquiries we had. He made us feel like we were his only clients, when I knew that we were not. He even attended the closing signing just in case there were any problems. And just when we thought Tom couldn't do any more for us, he recommended an electrician after we moved in to our new home! I would work with Tom again in a heartbeat and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for a home loan.

My husband and I have used Tom's services for many years. What we love about Tom is his direct approach to your mortgage needs. If he feels he can beat the competition, he'll tell you. If he feels the competitor can do better, he'll tell to you use them. We have never been disappointed by Tom. He is fast and efficient, and always keeps you in the loop without ever wondering where you are during the loan process. His attention to detail is spot on and is there to help in anyway he can. We wouldn't dream of using anyone else!

I have refinanced my house several times, but this time was far more difficult than anything I had experienced in the past - thanks to the Feds. The amount of new regulations is totally mind numbing. I scanned and emailed over 300 pages as part of the loan process. It got to the point where the proof of insurance had to be reissued because the word Boulevard wasn't listed on the address. Through all of this Tom was incredibly efficient, responding quickly to any questions, and he helped me through the minutia. It took a long time because so many people are refinancing due to the attractive rates, but it was relatively pain free. Oh yeah, and Tom got me this incredible interest rate so I am all set with a new 15 year mortgage. I would recommend Tom to anyone!

Tom was not only a pleasure to work with, but he was the reason we were able to close on a house at the end of January in 2014. My wife and I had a peculiar and difficult credit situation that Tom worked with me on for a solid 2 years prior to making an offer on a house. That's right, 2 years! For our particular situation, it required a full 2 years of Tom's dedication and guidance to make home buying again reality for us coming off of a complex short sale. I was blown away with his commitment and long-term outlook throughout the process. Once we decided to make an offer, the process was not without its hurdles, but Tom diligently guided us through to close and removed all the hurdles we encountered along the way. In fact, to have our offer even accepted, Tom joined our realtor in person to present our offer to the seller and assured them that he could close on the loan. I have no doubt that without that personal assurance, we would not have had our offer accepted. You want a guy like Tom on your team. When he says he can or will do something, he absolutely gets it done. Now we are incredibly happy and feel very fortunate to be in our new home and we could not have done it without Tom. I cannot recommend him more highly. Finding a pro-active, creative, diligent and trustworthy professional like Tom isn't easy (trust me, I talked to many), but give him a call and I assure you that you'll feel very fortunate that you did.

Tom recently handled the loan for mutual clients who purchased a home in Danville. He was outstanding in every respect, and went above and beyond to make sure all parties were given regular updates and informed through every step of the process. It was a relatively complicated situation, and Tom "thought outside of the box" to find a program that my clients would qualify for. He took the time to meet with the listing agent and me to explain the program, and delivered as promised so that we could close on time. I cannot say enough good things about my experience working with Tom, and I know that our clients share the same high regard! Thank you, Tom!
