“My husband and I had our wedding at Ruth Bancroft and it was a wonderful experience. After we initially toured the venue, we both immediately agreed it was perfect for us. The plants are incredible! We worked with both Tawny and Mary during the planning process and both were incredibly sweet and helpful. Emails were answered quickly, and they made it easy for me to schedule walk-throughs and our rehearsal. I will miss talking to both of them! The costs and available rentals were listed out and there were no surprises. We had our ceremony in the Eucalyptus Grove in the evening and it was perfect, especially with the sun peeking through the trees and plants. Our dinner and dancing were also outside, which was a big part of why we picked this venue. Who doesn’t want to dine and dance in a desert plant garden?! Our guests keep talking about how beautiful the venue was and I couldn’t agree more. I highly recommend Ruth Bancroft for events!”

“Love this place! It's so affordable - $10 per person, everything was DIY by the owner who is clearly very passionate about mini golf. And loved the extra three holes that had a fun twist to mini golf. Would highly recommend team bonding, family outings, and for small kids.”

“We booked the gardens in mid May for our wedding and it was a gorgeous wedding venue! It offers a spacious, beautiful garden teeming with blooming roses, different garden areas to explore, a super cute gazebo ceremony space, a nice cocktail area near the reception room, and the reception room with large windows for plenty of natural light. The lot has ~50 free parking spaces.

The rental rate is fairly reasonable for the venue space and what's offered. In addition to the main spaces, there's a getting ready room downstairs available to add on, seating for the ceremony, circle/rectangular (not full width) tables for dinner, and a few cocktail tables for the bar area downstairs. Management allows for a fair amount of DIYing and independent vendor selections, with the only exceptions being a preferred catering list with good selection and off list caterers allowed with a fee and vetting. Professionals also must put up any hanging decorations in the reception room, and decor can't be hung directly off of the garden structures and reception room walls. We communicated with Jenna throughout the planning process. She was super responsive and helpful, answering every question we sent her way.

Overall, I loved the gardens for our wedding and would recommend it to others!”

“I enjoyed every single minute of the gallery artist work.Altho it's in a close space, they did a gr8 job overall. I believe art is about texture n the correct line that the inner of the art, should bring out the artwork from the middle outwards..Jus that's me anyways.I always carry some sugar n honey when I go to places that I never been b4. N in return, I get treated with highly gr8 respect n understanding of the nature.Respect goes a long way.”

“They are open for tours only on Wednesdays and Sundays from 1 pm to 4 pm. The parking is free. It is run by Walnut Creek Historical Society. Once we enter inside the tour guide takes us on the tour. They are very knowledgeable and passionate. The guide explained everything in detail and was patient enough to answer our questions.”

“As a wedding photographer I work with many vendors but the Clubhouse at Boundary Oak stands out as one of the best in Northern Ca! The greens are beautiful and provide lovely backgrounds for photos. “We recently had my son's 5th birthday party here and had a wonderful experience. The staff take care of everything, which I wasn't expecting! And that included laying out table covers, having paper plates and napkins, checking guests in, receiving and bagging up gifts, distributing food, cleaning up. They were great with the kids and were so efficient in getting them from one place to the next! I received so many praises from the kids and from parents, many of whom said they didn't realize how amazing the relocated gym was. I highly recommend having a kids party here!”

“Attended a coin show at the Elks Lodge, and the building was well maintained and functional. I enjoyed seeing posters and information about upcoming events, for members. It's made me want to become a lodge member so hopefully I will get a chance to visit the lodge again.”

“Great course well maintained and not too difficult. I always have a good time with my friends or business associates when we come here. I always get a cart and the carts are reliable every time I've come. The courses need a little love but they played well for us and we had a great time. We will be back”

“Great spot to hit a bucket of balls. Added bonus of hearing gunshots from nearby Walnut Creek police shooting range. Well maintained golf mats, tees and automatic golf ball dispensers. Also, can't beat the view from this hillside location.”

“We love Diablo Hills - staff does a great job with the course. Even in the heat it is in great shape. We are beginners and most people are so friendly. It’s challenging enough to keep us coming back. The restaurant is always lively with great cheap tacos and a good spot to grab a beer after a round!”

“We stayed for the second time In a year. Our room, 226 was fine up until the last day/night when the bathroom sink had slowed up to drain out ( we did not rinse dishes with food on them..gross. only for brushing teeth) . We also had a wi-fi issue with the connection after we signed in, that was ANNOYING and my husband was irritated. We did not have a problem on our last stay, hence the 3 star rating.Walkability: There are walking trails nearby. One trail, IronHorse trail will take you to downtown if you are willing to walk a little over 2 miles to reach some outdoor shops, restaurants.”

“This is my boyfriend and I favorite theater to go to. We love this Cinemark because we are usually the only people inside. It is not crowded and the staff is amazing. Another great thing about this place is that you have the Cheesecake Factory nearby if you’d like some dessert or dinner after the movies. This movie location is perfect because of all the other food options nearby. Definitely check this place out if you like to go to the movies and have a great experience.”

“Employees are extremely kind and courteous. Very flexible and very genuinely, just trying to make your stay as positive as possible. Anytime I had a request or question, they were always incredibly kind and accommodating. They also have done a good work of renovation. Personally, I think it looks great. The rooms are equally as acceptable. For the price, it's a no brainer. It's also right smack into one of the "downtown" walnut creek/plesant hill areas. Plenty of grocery, restaurant, convenience, gas, takeout available within walking distance. The entrance of the hotel is a bit of a sharp turn, just drive slower when getting close and your Navi should direct you into the driveway just fine.”
