I don’t know what I’d do without Kayla and 1688. I’ve never gotten more compliments on my hair. This is the absolute BEST salon! I’ve been seeing Kayla for the past 8 years and am SO happy I found her!! The salon is clean and cute and makes you feel very comfortable. Jason the new owner is awesome and I can’t say enough great things about 1688.

Love this place. Jason has been doing my hair for almost 10 years! He is always a joy to talk to and is a great colorist for Blonde hair. He has done great updates to the salon and has friendly, professional people working with him. Plenty of parking in front and I totally recommend the salon.Service: Haircut

My haircut was fine, though nothing out of the ordinary. I thought Jason was nice but my bill was $105 and the internet said $80 for a woman's cut and $60 for a man (even though my hair is short). ANd, I didn't get it washed...won't be going back

I have hair trauma from previous salons and I am so happy I came across Michele at this studio. She listened to my needs and past experiences and she worked her magic ! I now have beautiful blonde ribbons in my hair! I can't wait to come back for more services! Love how small and personal it is when you walk inside.

Visiting from LA and needed a trim and blow dry for a wedding. Michele was so sweet and accommodating. She did such a great job on my curly and textured hair. Love the results. I wish I lived closer so I could come here more often.

I went inside and the place looked really nice, everyone was very nice and my stylist Nicole was super sweet. She was very friendly and she was good with communication which I loved! I got curtain bangs which costed about $15 which is reasonable. Definitely will come here again!

I'm so thrilled that I came to this salon. Shelbe is amazing and fun to work with. She listened to what I wanted and my hair has been feeling so healthy which shocked me given that I'm consistently getting blond highlights. I have seen her twice now and I can't imagine going to anyone else.

I was referred to Sixteen Eighty Eight by a coworker and the salon is a gem very cozy and inviting it has very talented people working here. I started out by having my hair cut, dyed and a balayage by Kayla I loved her and she did a perfect job. She left on maturity leave and I met Nicole well let me just start out by saying she does a fabulous job and I always leave the salon absolutely in love with my hair she also cuts ,dyes and balayage she has the best head scalp massage and makes sure I am satisfied. I guarantee you will fall in love with 1688 too!

Scheduled a haircut with Kristin for a long overdue cut. I have rather long and heavy hair and was looking to lighten the weight and shape the hair in a new style. I showed Kristin an image of what I was looking for in a hairstyle and we talked about how much length I was comfortable cutting off. After a relaxing hair wash, thoughtful cutting, trimming and blow drying I walked out of the salon with exactly what I was looking for. I plan return for a color and trims in the future.

I just had my hair cut by Nicole, and I couldn't be happier! She was very polite, professional, and personable. I explained what look I was hoping for, and she delivered it in under an hour. I haven't had my hair cut in about a year, so it was long over due for a trim. She was able to maintain my length, clean up the ends, and gave me back my layers that I use to have. I will be returning in the future to maintain the length that I have now, and I will make sure to request Nicole! Thank you so much for the incredible cut, you did an amazing job!

This is my second time getting a haircut with Shelbe Sweet. She is an extremely talented hairstylist and is particularly gifted in listening to exactly what it is I'm looking for and delivering on it. She is very clear/concise about asking the right questions to get full alignment on EXACTLY what you're looking for. As someone who dreads getting my hair cut even more than a dental cleaning, she's the perfect stylist for me. I want to maintain my length as much as possible, but have long layers, trim off the crispy bits, add some face framing layers, and not have the layers in the back go too high up. Check the pic I'll post. She delivered exactly that. Unfortunately I don't have a before pic but what I appreciate about Shelbe is that she invests up front in listening and will actually deliver. I've paid a loooot more for cuts that turned out so much worse. Some stylists feel like they assume what you want and don't really listen, or go too short, and I end up unhappy. I've been left with uneven layers and errant pieces, or face framing layers thst go up way too high that they could've been mistaken for curtain bangs. I'm so grateful to have Shelbe- it's so nice to have consistency and quality. I seriously just thought I was screwed every time I got a cut and resigned myself to having to grow things out, but luckily I don't have to feel that way anymore!! She's also just a really sincerely kind human. Genuinely pleasant to chat with. Thanks for taking care of me Shelbe!!

I recently saw Shelby. She did such an amazing job on my hair. She was able to look at my hair and fix a poorly done balayage. She knew what the problem was even before I could put my finger on it. Most importantly, she listened to what I want and where I want my hair to be. She effortlessly explained what she was going to and executed gorgeous hair. I will definitely be going back to her. I am glad I found her. She is also a doll! I really enjoyed spending time with her and chatting about our days.
