My parents and I have gone to Rich’s auto since it was owned by Rich. Louie V. is definitely knowledgeable and extremely helpful, nice and professional, and experienced in maintaining relationships with costumers. The work he does is honest and I respect his opinion with regard to mechanical and electrical workings of vehicles. Definitely one of the best shops in the Bay Area in my humble opinion.He never fleeced me or my family. Definitely recommend.

If you want an honest and well qualified, experienced AST certified mechanic this is the best place in Walnut Creek. You will save hundreds of dollars compared to the "stealerships".

One worry I always have with automotive repairs is if you’re getting fleeced or not. You really get a sense that you can truly trust Louie and Steve. I have a more detailed event below as to why I feel that way but long story short, they’re gonna be my go to guys for all repairs or car related questions moving forward.Now the story. I went to the dealership and encountered what most of us probably do. Went in for what I thought was a minor issue, and they come back with a laundry list of other things we’d recommend you get done. The list of “repairs” ended up being well over 5k. I just had all the usual 100k mile maintenance, updates and inspection work done at another shop about 8k miles ago (for almost half that price) so that seemed very odd.I called Louie and asked if I could get his opinion on everything. I swung by shortly after I made the call and as a result he saved me about 5k for the time being. He’s an honest true hard worker and as I mentioned earlier, he’ll always have my business. Thanks, Louie and Steve.

They will try to upsell you services like everyone else, but if you stand your ground you will be okay. At least they know what they are doing and you can be sure it will be done right.

It's been 7 years since my last review, so here's an update: Lou has continued to service and fix all my cars with the same great quality and value of service he always provides. Today he replaced the front brakes on my HRV, on time and at the price he quoted. I'm so glad he has opened back up again (from a temporary COVID shut down) because I had a horrible experience with a supposedly reputable mechanic when he wasn't available. Thank you, Lou!

Incredibly honest and very fair prices! I have taken my car in twice and both times Rich as helped to fix the problem and still stay within my budget. In fact he would even tell me parts of the car that were unnecessary to fix and did not effect the way it ran saving me lots of money. Instead of taking advantage of my lack of knowledge. He was very available and open to the questions I had. He also was very accommodating and works timely. He always worked within my schedule and availability. So FAIR and HONEST!
