I’ve been shopping at this clothing chain for years and years, I say at least 30 years. They have them in quite a few locations. They have one Napa, Lafayette, Walnut Creek, and I do believe Moraga. They have a wide variety of clothes for men and women and children, this is fascinating for a small chain. They actually have a teenager department for girls and two sections of the women’s department, one for the very mature woman. They even have a shoe section with a very good variety. Also Jewelry and purses. I forgot to mention on the woman’s side, they have undergarments and sportswear.
It truly is amazing the variety of clothing and other things they have in these stores. And the prices are decent. Don’t miss out is my suggestion.

I had a horrible experience here tonight (12/26/23) around 5:40 p.m. It was so disappointing as I have been coming here since I was a little girl. I am now a 24 year old teacher. I was in the middle section of the store (I believe the junior clothing section) to the left of the shoes. I had items in my hands ready to purchase for a late holiday gift and noticed what I assumed were perfume rollers at the checkout counter while I waited. I picked up the perfume roller and smelled it to see if I wanted to add it to the gift. Almost immediately, an older woman with lighter brown hair approached me and very rudely said to me: "Just take it. Or just give it to me. Put it down. Nobody is going to want it now that you put it up to your mouth". I was so thrown off that I just apologized. She told me she thought I was applying it to my lips. I clarified that I wasn't and assumed she would apologize. She did not and in fact, when I tried to talk to her more about it, she turned her back to me and walked away. I regret not asking for her name and will never set foot in a McCaulou's again.

I found a couple of Christmas tops (Although, not returable) that would work for holiday luncheons and dinners.

I'd never heard of this store and was curious what they were about. I felt like I was walking back in time - like back in the 70s/80s. Very nostalgic. IMHO, I don't think this store is for younger/modern shoppers. I saw more "elderly" shoppers so I'm assuming they are the faithful regulars who probably lives in the area and keeps the store afloat. Nonetheless, I love perusing unfamiliar stores with the hope of finding hidden gems! My first visit was a quick one - I walked around for just a few minutes but had to take off to catch the Contra Costa Shuttle. (I was on my lunch break heading back to work.) I came back a few more times and ended up finding a San Francisco t-shirt and sweatshirt. Mind you, the shirt and sweatshirt is a GILDAN brand which is sold at Michael's. That should tell you about the quality and give you an idea of pricing. Fortunately, both were on sale (I wouldn't have bought it at full price). On my recent visit, I found a beautiful butterfly dress for my 9-year-old niece. I knew I picked a winner when both she (and her mom) gasped, mouth wide open. =) I've read a few negative reviews at this location and other locations about McCaulou's staff - in my experience, all of my visits have been pleasant. The staff was friendly and approachable. It's not your Nordstroms but it's worth a peruse now and then, in case you get lucky,

Love this store for women's clothing & gifts. I always find what I need here & use the $10 coupon often. The staff is very helpful & the store is just lovely & organized. I do wish they carried a few larger sizes, 1x-3x in their more popular items. Still, always a please to shop here.

What a secret gem! They have clothing for guys and gals. Also, NYDJ pants in regular and petite sizes! Estee Lauder cosmetics! Napa Soap Company soaps made with wine! A lot of other cool stuff if you're looking to get gifts for friends and family especially around the holidays (cozy socks!) I found my water repellent hat here instead of ordering a similar style and color from Britain.

Since you took my sister's honest review down, I'll post it once more: I go into this store every week with my 9-month-old daughter and my mom to buy her a Jellycat stuffed animal and a matching book. She absolutely loves them and has a huge collection of them at home. I went in today and we were looking at the Jellycats. My daughter of course wanted to hold them and we handed her a couple, which she ended up accidentally dropping on the floor, and we immediately picked them up and put them back on the shelf. We were there for no more than 5 minutes trying to decide which one to buy for her when we noticed an older woman at the back desk absolutely staring us down. I asked her if we were OK and she replied "sure" in a sarcastic tone. We ended up leaving the store right after. I felt super uncomfortable about the situation so I called the store and asked if there was a problem and if there was a reason for us to be stared down rudely the way that we were. The woman on the phone asked what happened and I explained the situation to her, to which she replied "those aren't really for babies as they're really expensive." First of all, since when is a stuffed animal not for babies? Jellycats literally say on the tag "suitable from birth" and my daughter has been playing with them since she was a newborn. Second of all, the Jellycats are not "really expensive", they're $25, and we were planning on buying one just as we have several times before. She also asked if we were "throwing them around". We are full grown adults, not teenagers, and I can assure you no one was throwing the toys--my daughter dropped a few, which as I said, we IMMEDIATELY picked up. If the worker had a problem she could have asked us not to hand the stuffed animals to the baby rather than staring us down and making us extremely uncomfortable. Needless to say I will continue buying my daughter Jellycats, which ARE MEANT FOR BABIES, at another business.

I showed up 15 minutes before closing and the security guard told me that I can't go in because they close at 6. I said I just want to grab one thing he said no they close like now. I also don't need to shop there apparently.

How did you get a picture of my grandson and put it next to my name for me to write a possible review. I didn't have one in mind until I saw that somehow you got into my pictures!! I think stores have been sued for less. I will be in to one of your stores to talk to the manager.
