Years ago Books for the Barrios came to my art studio to pick up a generous number of books to ship overseas. They were pleasant, grateful and took everything I had to offer. Samuel B's review seems a little off as most small organizations like this cannot afford a staff and appreciate people making appointments as they are usually working a regular job in addition to volunteering. Their premise is to gather enough books to send to what was it, the Philippines, so that others may learn to read. And have books of many interests. I salue Books for the Barrios.

Stopped by here to check out the place. It's a house in a residential neighborhood, which I wasn't expecting. Knocked on the door, rang the doorbell, nobody answered. A neighbor tried calling them, and nobody answered. Place either doesn't exist anymore, or all the employees were taking a nap.
