They took really good care of my Boy Cat! We signed him up for the care plus plan, and they gave him a thourough check up and diagnosis of his problem. The Vet was excellent to talk with following the examination; it was clear that she really cared!! Very Nice Place for Your Pets - I Highly Recommend!!

Avoid coming here. The receptionist threw a fit because I was five minutes late for the vet appointment (no exaggeration), telling me they probably couldn’t see my dog, but I then had to wait 45 minutes to be seen.

I’ve been taking my French bulldog here since he was a puppy (he’s now 4) we are on one of the banfield wellness plans and I love it! The front desk staff has always been warm and loving towards my dog whenever I bring him in.I will say that this location is frequently running behind on appointments (sometimes up to an hour, but I normally book my appointments towards the end of the day, so it’s understandable) but the staff is always friendly. It maybe seems like this location is understaffed based on how they operate.I’ve really enjoyed Dr. Crane (sorry if I misspelled), she’s a great resource and really cares for your pet!

We are so fed up with Banfield. We waited 2 weeks for an in person appointment. When we got there, they told us it would be at least an hour late and they couldn't not guarantee it wouldn't be cancelled. We just left in disgust.

Quality service for my puppy. Good customer service and it shows they really care about the pets that come in. ?

DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE - STAFF IS CARELESS AND RUDE.I brought my cat in for treatment for an eye infection. It was a drop off appointment so they said they would call and let me know when to come get her. After I drove 30 min back home, they called me and said they were not going to treat her. They said she was too nervous and thought it would be easier to send her home with eye cream and sedatives. They sedatives would be used to calm her nerves the night before and day of her follow up appointment in two weeks. I thought this was very strange because she’s been to other vets and they’ve never refused treatment. But I let it go.Two weeks later was the drop off follow up appointment. I gave her the sedatives like they asked. Again, they told me they would give me a call when it’s time to pick her up. I dropped her off at 9:45am. At 2:45, I called to see how much longer it would take for her to be done. I assumed a quick follow up shouldn’t take 5 hours. When I called they told me she had been ready for pick up for over an hour. I told them I never received a call from them and they lied and said they called and left a message. They did not contact me at all. When I got to the clinic, I asked to speak with the veterinarian to get clarity on the lack of communication. The vet, Margaux Siongco, approached me with a very nasty and confrontational attitude. She insisted that she called me and left a message. I asked when she called and she said she didn’t remember when. I was so fed up with being lying to so I showed her my phone to show that I never got a call. She then snapped at me and said, “Well I don’t know what happened to your phone but at least you have your cat back,” and then walked away. I was appalled. Not only did they refuse to treat my animal because she was “nervous” (as if all animals aren’t nervous at the vet) but they also blame their blatant carelessness and lack of communication was blamed on me. I have every right to express concern that my pet was sitting at the vet for over an hour and no one contacted me. ESPECIALLY if they made a point to tell me that that environment makes her nervous. A simple “I’m sorry, we were busy today and we forgot to call you,” would’ve sufficed. I was not wanting to argue with Margaux I was just concerned about my pet and curious about what happened. I also don’t appreciate how they refused to treat my cat unless she was sedated. No other clinic has EVER refused service on her and demand she comes back sedated. If the veterinarian treats people like that I don’t even want to know how she treats animals at these appointments. I don’t think this location truly cares about pets or pet parents. I will never bring my pet back to this location.

My puppy loves it here and I love that the staff love my baby just as much as I do!

Tried this particular office because regular offices (Albany and San Leandro) have been sporadically closed, and it's been impossible to get timely appointments for your animal/s. This, despite being a regular monthly paying "Wellness Plan" member. No visits with the vet herself, as Banfield is perpetually in drop off mode (to accumulate as many animals as possible for quick exams and many "add-ons" and horrible extra charges. They don't tell you that the visit is a drop-off and you have to come get the animal a few hours later. And you don't get to talk to the vet even after the drop off. It's a vet tech who has to do the "pr" and money making. Also, the booking lady at this office assured me the office was "just off the freeway." It's not; it's a good few miles inland, through horrible traffic. But she charmed us into trying that office, and that office then gained some more earnings for surprises that are just not covered by the Wellness Plan, and also are not really discounted like Banfield has you believe they are discounted. Regarding more on the wellness plans, again, you can't really use them much because you can't easily get appointments. Their staff gets rewards for signing you up. And their service office up in Canada is nefarious, with scripted sales folks. You can barely reach them, and their "pricing research" they purport to do amongst the local markets is conveniently way off, in Banfield's favor.Banfield as part of the Mars, Incorporated conglomerate has overextended itself and is aggressively pushing for bottom lines, at the expense of your pet and YOU. By being very misleading, slight of hand, etc.The entire chain, not just walnut creek's location, is overdue for more than scrutiny - they need to be shut down and forced to reimburse monthly wellness plan members. Moreover, Mars, Incorporated itself really needs to be help accountable for this huge mess and harm it has caused. On that note, for California based clients, you can file complaints with the Veterinary Medical
[email protected] phone number is 916-515-5220. Members from other states might do well to research their respective vet boards. And everyone should keep notes of all the strange occurrences to help ligitators build their case against the antics and resources of this horrible conglomerate.

Been going to this location for a few years. This past year has been one thing after another. Poor care, poor customer service, etc. I no longer feel that they give my animals the love and care that a vet should. I’ve already placed my complaints with the corporate office which only goes back to the hospital itself so no real change happens because they don’t think they do anything wrong. There’s no point in complaining, it won’t change and falls on deaf ears.

Quality care, clean and good customer service. Banfield is severely impacted in the East Bay. Berkeley, El Cerrito, Richmond areas.

Friendly service & clear expectations of cost for services. They’ve taken great care of my Sofia for routine exams and a dental cleaning /surgery. We have one of their care plans and it’s been more than worth it for the included X-rays & dental cleaning.

Not honoring confirmed appointment & careless/bad customer service:On 12/12/22, I scheduled 2 separate new patient visits for each of my dogs. I took my first dog to her appointment and told the receptionist that she can be leash aggressive with small dogs. They wrote it on her form. They take dogs back without owners, which is fine, but when they brought her back out, the tech brought her right into the lobby loose leashed into the lobby with small dogs. My dog was totally calm, but I expected more care from those experienced in this field.Since owners don't go back, I didn't talk to a vet at all. I was told by the vet tech that everything was fine. When I logged on the chart afterward, it said she had an issue with plaque on her teeth, but no one told us anything or offered a cleaning or suggestions, so that was kind of disappointing. My next dog's appointment was scheduled for 1/21. On 1/6, they called me and confirmed my appointment, and on 1/7 they emailed me an appointment confirmation. Today, 1/18, they called me & said they don't have any appointment availability on Saturday and I could do a "drop-off" appointment. I'd leave my dog with them & she'd wait in a kennel until she could be seen and then they'd call me when she was done. That would be around the afternoon, the receptionist told me. She seemed off-put that I asked for information on how the "drop-off" visit would work and didn't acknowledge or offer an explanation for why my appointment was no longer confirmed. Why did I make and confirm an appointment over a month in advance, if I'm not guaranteed my appointment? Why would I leave my dog in a kennel all day with them? Especially after they didn't seem careful about keeping a reactive dog away from other dogs? I cancelled and won't be back.
