Buddy at Ye Olde Car Shoppe is knowledgeable and honest. He's not the smiley, slick-talking, know-nothing service writer at your local dealership but you can trust what he says and his prices are more than fair. I live in SF bay area and am an experienced gearhead and do all my own work but when I'm in SoCal and I don't have access to my tools I go to Buddy at YOCS.

This guy fixed my emergency brake cable about 2 years ago. Took him 3 days to get the cable and kept telling me that they kept bringing him the wrong one. Then when I finally picked up my truck the emergency brake still did not work right and stop working completely about 2 weeks after. I had called him the day I got my truck back to tell him that it wasn't working right. He told me that you don't really need your emergency break anyway. Typical mechanic answer who doesn't want to fix his mess up. Now I'm pissed every time I have to park when I'm towing a trailer. I guess this guy's never parked going downhill with 5000 pounds Of construction trash in a trailer before. Oh yeah you dont need an emergency brake though. I'm sure all that weight is great on my transmission.

What a great place very honest I will only go here. Buddy let me know that I did not need brakes like I was told by a place elsewhere. This is the place to go!
