I will most definitely be coming back. I was looking around to get my hair done. And after calling multiple salons, I found her and discussed what I wanted and she was the only one who was honest and informed me well. You can tell she takes pride in her work. She cares and listens to her clients and has their best interest at heart.. She is a great listener I told her what I had in mind. And she suggested what would look good on me and together we came up with this. I absolutely love my hair!!!!

As best as I can remember, I have never written a negative review on Yelp. I generally only write something good or don't say anything at all. But this experience was especially poor. Over the phone, Barb had agreed to color my roots with the product I have (a fine product called Goldwell). I've been having it done for over 5 years with an exact amount amount of color. So, I came in to my appointment with my oz. scale and exact measurements as to how I have my hair done. Barb told me that I would need more color. When I told her that this is how I always do it, she said something like "that's why your hair looks like that." I told her that I usually pull through to the ends at the conclusion with a "shampoo cap." (*There is a reason for this. Note below.) When I told her that I would like to to do it the way I've always done it, she went ahead and took my color (albeit briskly). So, I assumed we would be fine. But, rather than using the amount of color I always do, when she started putting it into the mixing bowl, she said she was going to eyeball it (or used a similar term). When I repeated that I wanted to do it the way I've always done it, she asked me if I wanted to mix it myself. I think she was surprised when I said that I'd be happy to. (I have done it several times before.) As I approached the bowl, I realized that she had started using almost double what I told her I use (thereby wasting my product). When I mentioned that to her, she basically told me that she was going to do it "her way." ('So much for the customer always being right.) I said, "No," we would do it my way or I would leave. (It is after all, my hair and my product and I have been doing this successfully: every 3 weeks for 5 years.) I do not remember Barb's exact response, but her retort led me to go ahead and gather up my product to leave. As I was gathering my things to leave, she raised her tone of voice to me, saying that she should charge me for an appointment (even though I had been very clear what I wanted and it had been she who wasted both my time and my product). I regret that this caused me to raise my tone of voice in response. I do regret that. If she reads this review: I am sorry for that. But, it was ironic that she was touting her professionalism (she wanted to do my hair the way she thought it should be done), while she was being unprofessional: refusing to do what the customer had requested and being curt with and insulting to me. She made some comments about Fantastic Sams and California Cuts (or similar) that seem to indicate that she thought they weren't up to her standards. But, a salon experience, especially an "upscale" one, does not just include what your hair looks like when you're done. It also includes the atmosphere, how you are treated, how you are made to feel. I would suggest that if Barb would like to have an upscale salon and grow her business that she treat her clientele, especially new/prospective clients, with the upmost respect and remember that "the customer is king." *Note on amount of color: Barb wanted me to color all of my hair and basically said my hair looked blown out. But, she didn't/doesn't know how my hair USED to look, which was a lot MORE blown out. I have very fine and porous hair and my roots need to be down every 3 weeks. The reason my hair had been more "blown out" before was because I had been previously coloring all the way through to the ends too much. So, I have learned, over the 15 years total that I've been coloring my hair (and having gone to a variety of salons), that by the time my hair need to be colored again, my hair will somewhat "blow out" regardless of what I do. BUT, it will be LESS blown out if I don't color to the ends all the time. But, Barb did not take the time to get to know me or ask me questions before she basicall

Barbara cuts my hair like no other! She does an amazing job with my short hair. Beautiful cut every time. She takes her time, really cares about the health of your hair/scalp as well and providing excellent service.

She is an absolute sweet heart not only did she take my vision on my hair style but she put it into hers. She made my hair feel absolutely healthy again and did an AMAZING job with my style! I didn't know what else to do but after she was finished with my hair I was happy to see it shine again and I have not seen my hair do that in a long time!
