This was our first time at Melrose Vet Hospital. The Doctor was thorough and quick with her assessment. I came here on a recommendation and I was very happy with the professional staff and clean offices. My dachshund can be spicy ?️ and everyone took great care to make her feel comfortable. It was a bit slow getting out of the office but I’m not sure if that was because they were busy or because it was a relatively early appointment. We will come back for sure.

We've used Melrose Veterinary Hospital for more than 30 years, and for four different dogs. Dr. Richieri and his staff are very knowledgeable and caring. Highly recommend!

They saved my 4 puppies!! I took in a litter of Mexican puppies and quickly found out one of them had parvo- which is the worst. The team was quick to see my boy, kept things very clean, and went above and beyond to make sure he and his brothers are all healthy. They also gave me space to cry, and ask them a million questions. They gave me options for different price points and talked me through everything. I can’t recommend them enough!

Not sure what happened today with the employees here. I made our appointment yesterday for today for my family to take my dog in for nail clippings, flea medication and a vaccine and after my care credit card was deactivated without my knowledge they were unable to pay for the services with it, so the office decided to charge 70$ for the nail clipping that is usually 20$ and then my family was told if they didn’t pay they weren’t going to give my dog back?! So they paid it, she got her nails clipped but what was the other 50$ for? She never got her flea medication which I’m sure would have been covered under that 70$ very unprofessional. Never had an issue with this place before until now, very disappointed.

If I could give this vet 10 stars I would. My family and I have took our dogs here the last 15+ years and the vet has had taken care of our dogs through out the years. Recently, our 11 year old boxer was put down because he became very ill. It’s been the hardest week for us, but we received a sympathy card in the mail from Melrose Veterinary Hospital. It was hand written, with so much love put into it. My family and I feel the love from this vet, to know that our dog touched many hearts makes us so happy. Thank you Melrose Veterinary, you guys are truly the best.

The positive vibe gave us an Outstanding experience. I have 2 k9's Mastiff and English bulldog even though they are very well trained no one ever knows how a new veterinarian will effect them. Because Dr.Lisa and the staff were so familiar with both breeds and incredibly kind we had a great time. And we can't wait to return for our future check-ups .So thank you everyone for taking such good care of us !

They failed to diagnose my puppy's ear infection because the dr. didn't "think there was anything wrong" instead of running an analysis on his smelly, dark red ear discharge. She said it's debris and only gave me medicine because I insisted twice.
The flea medicine they gave us was expired.
They failed to inform me of the type of microchip they would give my dog and now he needs to get rectal temperature readings for the rest of his life instead of remote ones. I never would have gotten the one they carry if I had known that.
Small waiting area and quite the waiting time.

7 Years down the drain in 5 minutes. I have been taking both of my dogs to Melrose Vet for the last 7 years. Every time they get sick, every time they get hurt, to buy joint supplements, vaccines, and even taking them every two weeks for nails/anal glands. I'm there at least twice a month with them. NOT ANYMORE!My dog is allergic to the lepto vaccine. For 5 years, the routine has been Benadryl shot -> Lepto Vaccine -> Observation -> Take home Benadryl. Well, for the last two years they have taken out the observation. I understand, they aren't baby sitters. I can wait in the lobby.But today! Today they decided to send a tech out by the name of Corine to talk to me like I'm a child. I asked them for take home Benadryl for her on the phone nearly a month ago when I made the appointment for her. I asked for it again at the front at check in. She came out to tell me that it wasn't necessary since they gave her the Benadryl shot. My routine for 5 years has always been take home Benadryl.Rather than explaining to me what changed, she decided to start an argument with me about how "We had this same conversation last year." (No, we didn't). "I don't see it in the chart." "You can get it over the counter, we are so busy." (She repeated this 5 times.) "You should have called ahead of time." (I did). Then, when I told her I was getting frustrated, and that I would look for another vet if nothing got better she said "I'll get your medical records." and walked away.And her tone the entire time was like a kindergarten teacher addressing a room of 5 year old's. I have never in my 7 years of going here felt so disrespected.I'm genuinely saddened. I've been taking my dogs here for 7 years. I like all but one doctor there. I genuinely like many of the techs there. However, I will not tolerate being disrespected. Not one person tried to step in and make it right when I was clearly upset. This shows me I'm not as valued as I once thought. I'll be taking my dogs and my money elsewhere.
