INCOMPETENCE!!! DO NOT BANK WITH COMERICA!!! The incompetence of these people is hard to believe. I opened a simple checking account with them several months ago and tried to transfer an adequate amount from my old checking account. COMERICA FAILED! They failed to complete the transfer after more than a week. I was forced to transfer money from another savings account. The child on the other end of their customer service line was an idiot who provided no help at all. I was forced to go into the local branch to receive assurances everything would be fixed. WRONG!!!! They never set up the account correctly so I closed the account and demanded the return of my initial deposit. It took the local branch manager to send me a check to get my money. NOW, months later they claim I owe them $69 in fees from after the time I closed the account and sent my name to a collection agency!!! INCOMPETENCE!!! DO NOT BANK WITH COMERICA!!!

Since opening a business account as well as a personal account this past year, I have nothing but good things to say about this Vista branch. Every time I walk in, it feels like family. Low fees and a family environment... not something I have EVER felt at a bank. Thank you Toni and crew.

I sold my house, and got the proceeds. I needed a bank to park my money until the market cools off. I put them on a CD for 6 months. Once I got close to the maturity date, I called the escondido office branch manager to make sure, the money will be available, so I can buy a house. I confirmed the maturity date several times on the phone and once in person. They said just come back and the money will be ready for you. They forget to mention that they are closing the branch within a few days. Only the vista location was open. Took me 30 min to drive there. I asked the teller to take my money out of the CD. She said it is not matured yet and if I take it out, I would pay a large penalty. I should come back another time. I showed her the official document generated by Comerica, reflecting the maturity date. Clearly spelled out. She said it is not the same In her computer. She asked me to come back next week. For those who are not familiar with the process, they only give you 5-6 day small window, to take the money out. If I miss that short window, they will automatically roll it back Without my permission, in a CD and I won't be able to take my Own money unless I pay a very high penalty of $5,000-10,000. These are real numbers, as I did my homework prior to taking my money. I told the teller that I have the proof showing the official maturity date, and I need it now. I will not come back next week. Her answer was that she doesn't know how to do it as she she's never done that before. I asked her to call the 1-800 number listed on my document. She did, and after about 40 minutes and several insulting questions, she finally gave me a cashier check. They refuse to give me any cash out of it, or wire transfer, which I would've preferred. I am retired after 22 yrs in a legal business. I'm fairly familiar with certain legalities. She asked me if I was under 59 1/2 yrs old. I told her that is non of her business and it is certainly not something she needs to know in order to give me my own money. I was originally considering leaving some money at this bank, but after the runaround, I do not want to do any business with them. Several other experience over a year or so with Comerica proved to me they're unprofessional, not customer oriented, intimidating to customers at times. I can imagine if I was not speaking English well, or not familiar with legalities, or waited a week like they asked me to, I would be paying a large penalty. It took me 4 trips to the bank to get my own money. AVOID THIS BANK!!! Do not give them business. They only customer oriented when they take your money. I experienced during visits to different locations, that the tellers did not know how to do things. Is that a coincidence? If I go to doctor, (or any professionals, realtor, Dentist, ) they would tell me, (I'm not sure how to do a surgery, Or root canal, or sell a house) I would go to someone who knows how to do it. Make the long story short. Comerica will do every trick in the book to keep your money. The intimidation part totally blew my mind. I live in escondido where the Hispanic community is large and they don't speak perfect English. I can see how intimidating Comerica would be. Go to Wells Fargo or Chase, where they know what they're doing.

Since I deal or have dealt with many different banks in my lifetime of 88 years I feel qualified to make this review. I even worked at a bank when I got out of high school. The people at this branch go out of their way to give the best customer service of any bank I deal with now or I had an account with. I've been with them practically since they opened. In other words, my highest kudos go to this branch. Check them out and you will feel the same way.

I left Union Bank for their fees and long lines. With Comerica in Vista I have never seen more than one customer in line. I am greeted by name. I like the feature where I can deposit a check with my phone.

I have referred many business owners to Toni over at Comerica. They've all been very satisfied with the services and the staff at the Vista branch. Ive been in the bank many times as well and Ive always been greeted at the door with no line!

I have had a business account at Comerica for several years, and love the friendliness of the staff who greet me so it feels like a small town bank. Also, the bank manager makes a huge effort to know members, and help them feel welcomed.
