“A Hidden Gem for Affordable Furniture!
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Habitat for Humanity, and I can't recommend it enough! This place is a treasure trove of useful items, particularly if you're in the market for furniture. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of the pieces available.
I found some fantastic furniture that not only fit my needs perfectly but also came at an incredibly reasonable price. The staff was friendly and helpful, making the shopping experience even better.
What I love most is knowing that my purchases contribute to a great cause, helping families in need. If you're looking for a sustainable way to furnish your home while supporting a worthy organization, I highly encourage you to check out Habitat for Humanity. You won't be disappointed!”

7571 Florence Ave, Visalia“Omg. The people of Salt and Light are literally Angels among us! They have gone above and beyond. With there warm and caring hearts as to help get me a home I can call my own. When it seemed impossible to get back on my feet after being homeless due to COVID back a few years ago. I never in my wildest dreams that I would come Cross and organization that go above and beyond of human kindness as to help the ones that are so down and almost to point of no return. To help those in need of real help. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and soul to get me back up on my feet and get me back to where I can now move forward to bettering myself and my life to make it in these hard times. Thank you for helping me get back on my feet to where I now have a home and a job to better my life .
Thank you so very much as to giving me that 2nd chance for a bright and better future.
Anything that can be done to repay the gratitude to give I will always be there to volunteer my time to help.
Thank you.
Sincerely
Joshua Hofer”
“Rescued Treasures is a favorite stop when I’m in Visalia. They offer a variety of goods, now including more furniture and electronics that are discounted. I appreciate how they display their jeans (with the waistband facing out) because it makes it so much easier to find your size! They have a huge selection of books and many craft and party supplies as well. Be sure to buy a meal for someone for only $2.49. Senior day is Wednesday as well.”
“I was a worker there.. for being Christian based area I felt like all the male staff especially the supervisor of the construction site, felt like the chosen one. He took complete advantage of his authority and would make you feel like you had to bow down to him or else. Not very Christian to me.. female staff.. all great!! All the way down to the cook’s.. but again the female staff couldn’t show there full potential due to the male ego in that faith based area.. I’ll be honest I wish they would open there eyes and see how the supervisor of this company really is and what his true believes are.. mostly everyone there seemed lost or confused lol. Kinda entertaining. Don’t recommend this job or shelter to anyone at all.. don’t believe go see for yourselves”
“My daughter has been attending their Edge after school program. It keeps her busy, and as a single parent working full time I'm very thankful that this is an available option. The employees I have met have been helpful and communicative. Thank you for all the hard work!”
“-1 star because of Mary Elise Escarsega-Fechner's position on the CalCAPA Board of Directors.
If staff are anything like I've experienced everywhere else in social services,”
“I have had a great experience with the self help organization. They help everyone who wants to help themself. They have amazing people that offer resourses to those of us who participate in our own advancement in life. The negative reviews are not my experience at all.Self Help is a fine organization aimed to help any individual who will help them help theirselves.”
