The staff at Ventura Dog Ranch are the type of kind and thoughtful people that you want caring for your pup. Our dog absolutely loves going there and we’ve had many great experiences with both day care and boarding.

Incredibly grateful to have found these guys. Our rottie is 5.5 years old and has always been weary of strangers. So finding a place to board him was a challenge when we moved to Ventura. Thankfully they gave him a chance and we couldn't be happier. In fact, I think it's been a key role in his behavior lately. I've been much less concerned while taking him out to chase ball at the park when strangers ask to greet him. And he's been noticeably more laid back about strangers coming up to him. I admit, there could be a number of factors that are contributing to this better behavior, but thought I'd share. They've also been great about my MANY last minute changes to boarding him longer or shorter than expected -- they work with you. Oh and they're also very active on social media (Instagram) which I appreciate. Big thanks!

In May 2023, we had a bad situation occur at the Ventura Dog Ranch, and we have written to the Owner and will keep you patrons posted about what the Owner does to resolve this situation. Our dog Brodie is just over 1 year old, and is an Old English Sheepdog/poodle. He has always loved going here and is a gentle giant and passive and loving. Everyone who works there always said for 1 year now that they love him and he is kindhearted. But now there is a red-headed young woman who they hired in the last months and she may be being abusive! The last time I went there, my Sheepdog and my mom's little poodle were both afraid of her and groveled low while leaving. She slipped up and said Brodie nipped at her when she "tried to pull him into a cage" in the middle of the day. What? A cage? Then she lied about this and that and claimed he is a biter. Good grief. The others said he is not a biter. I will let you readers know if the Owner investigates this new employee and talks with me about it...or ignores it. In the meantime, I am afraid to take my dogs there anymore. Cheri

Bowie, my Blue Boston Terrier, was 3.5 months old and we had to leave for weekend away to family wedding. I was scared to leave him as he was so young but I visited beforehand and liked the vibe. Bowie did wonderfully and was soooo happy. He also learned to interact socially with other dogs and it was like dropping my child off at summer camp. I will definitely bring Bowie back!

Ventura Dog Ranch is wonderful!! My standard poodles, Ike & Lucy, call this home away from home. We do Day Camp & all I hv to say is "Puppy Camp" & they are jumping up & down. Carmen the manager of the property has a system & a process that is well thought out & she truly cares for your pups. It is really something for me to trust my pups w/ anyone. She & her staff are dedicated, caring, & actively work w/ your dogs. I highly recommend ? !

Now called Ventura Dog Ranch. Prices went from $45/dog to now $70/dog with new ownership!! Such a bummer.

Carmen and all the employees at Ventura Dog Ranch are the best! They love and treat each dog as if it were their own. They're very personable with the clients and communicate with them clearly and frequently. A great facility overall, who care for the well-being of your dog ???
