It's consistently a miserable experience at this location if you are unfortunate enough to be "helped" by Bill Pendergrast. This clerk is rude, condescending, and unwilling to do the bare minimum that his job requires. He's also inconsistent in that he clearly favors some customers over others. For example, he was rude to the customer in front of me and overly effusive to the one behind me. Furthermore, he is deeply unprofessional, and he alone makes going to this location unpleasant.

Bill is a great help, he's been working there since I was a kid. The service is sometimes slow, but eventually they get you what you need. Post boxes are available before the post office desk is open.

HORRIBLE customer service. I go to this place several times a week. I know everyone there, or so I thought. They knew me because I'm there doing transactions that take well over 10 minutes at a time. But when I'm asking for a package that they sent away to be looked into because it was never returned to the vendor, and now I'm out $100 and I'm told that I should just keep waiting to see if it arrives. I'm patient. But then I go back after a year of waiting and constantly checking in and they're now telling me that I waited too long and the records are only 120 days old. They made me wait. And now Elvira won't be held accountable for giving my package away and the supervisor doesn't want to find out what happened to my package. Elvira and the supervisor are criminals. This place needs to be shut down. I go there every day. I respect them. They don't respect me. Don't respect their customers. They're just there till 5:00 and then forget all about the accountability of the day. I paid an additional fee to Archive my order. And now this paperwork goes nowhere because they just simply deny it. They disregard it and this is the post office but I thought was employed with respectable employees who are honest and not lazy. I won't shut up about this. This isn't right. They did me wrong and I've done nothing but support them.

Beautiful building in downtown Ventura. Very cool mural inside. Parking can be rough, but that's not the fault of the post office.

I took a package for a return today. I had a QR code so it was fast and easy. There was a short line but it took a few minutes because they only had one employee working there, but the line moved quickly and I was able to hand over my package, get the QR code scanned and got my receipt and left. Overall it was a good experience.

Why can't they deliver a small simple package 1/2 a block from their location....? I can see the branch from my office. THREE for THREE including todays botched missing package, their tracking said "DELIVERED" when it was NOT. They dont know where it actually is. Filed another missing package help request. I'm gonna stop buying products from places that ship via the post office.

Make sure you bring a pen or Bill will call you “young and unprepared” and bum you out for the whole day ?

Absolutely destroyed my packages... You might have to wait in line for extended periods, which can be frustrating, especially if there is no clear indication of how long the wait might be.. also there's some Unfriendly/rude staff so that's always fun lol

They need to retire Bill! Very rude to me, misinformed me about how to send something General Delivery. Very important package was returned to me because of it. Today I asked to speak to the manager he flat out told me NO. Time for him to retire, you can tell he is not a happy person! So surprise the office has not fired him. Horrible reviews!

Bill Bill Bill..... horrible customer service. I know he's a staple at this post office , been there for years. I even contributed to his wife's go fund me. He just seems so miserable. I stood in line watching him with customers and dreaded my turn. I'll drive the extra 2 miles to the other post office from now on.

Ended up visiting this post office by accident as I was originally planning to mail some international packages this week at my local post office as I forgot to mail them about a week back. For some reason, I get better service at post offices that are far from where I live in Arcadia, and this post office is a PERFECT example at how they are supposed to be.Next time if I'm heading to Santa Barbara and I need to mail something, I will be sure to stop by at this post office instead of my local locations that are ran by rude people!

The window clerk BILL is extremely rude. I used stamps to mail a first class package and handed them to him so he can put the on the box. I only ended up using one book of stamps and he never gave me the other one back. That's 12 dollars worth of stamps and he lost them. He pretty much told me "tough luck" when he couldn't find them. I don't know why he works there if he hates his job so much. Bro I've worked at the post office it's not that bad. Just retire man quit making everyone else's lives suck. Old fart.

I love this post office. It is downtown so you can stop by and then grab something to eat. Also, it has incredible murals and if you look at the actual post office boxes, they are these old-timey, ornate tiny works of art.Is the line sometimes long? Yes--they don't have enough tellers. But the people who work there are cool. Today I was helped by Bill: he's been working at that branch for 54 years! Wow. He helped me rent a PO Box and was efficient, helpful, and knowledgeable. There is a ton of street parking as well.

This is the post office I always go to. Reviews may be skewed because there are plenty of people who come through everyday who get serviced with no complaints. Inside there are beautiful murals which are nice to look at when waiting. The Post Office staff are always helpful and on it and make up for possible wait times.Yes - there may be waits, but that's the nature of the post office...
