If it wasn't for Moore, my childhood tabby cat would have died a year prior and my family and I wouldn't have had an extra year with her. The vet treated my cat well, and it amazes me how she's able to keep it together when creatures are going through a lot of discomfort. She also treated my boyfriend's friend's bearded dragon, as well as his own Chinese Water Dragon lizard (it's great to have a local vet who can work with reptiles by the way!) Karen Moore always had their best interest in mind and made certain the pet owner knew every possible outcome, as well as how things could/would work. She gave me peace of mind. The staff are also very good. They're polite, friendly, and always enthusiastic to help a client.I don't care what a couple of reviewers say. They're obviously using the vet as a scapegoat for their frustration and pain during hardship, because Moore did everything she could to help the pets either I or my husband brought in.

I adopted my dog Solly. He had no fur, his skin had lesions and he smelled bad. I went to multiple vets over the next four years. No one could help him.... until Dr. Moore. Her office is a converted house, and her staff treat everyone with kindness and care. My Solly is totally cured and acts like a puppy (even though he is five years old). Dr. Moore I cannot say enough wonderful things about you and your staff. I have recommended many to you and will continue to do so. Although our visits to you are infrequent (because Sol is so healthy!) ,we look forward to our visits to the little yellow home of Moore Veterinary clinic in Ventura.Jodi Beth

If I could give minus stars I would I'm so traumatized by my recent experience at Moore's. Go to McNeils veterinary services on Thompson. She actually cares about your animals. Dr. Moore's staff are mean, blame you, and dont seem to care if you dog even dies I guess. They literally let my dog walk out with a huge abscessed tooth on December 28 - did not even offer to lance it in that visit in December - but referred me to this wacko dentist who cancels multiple times, once when you're literally in the waiting room for your appointment. Dr. Moore blamed me for not getting my dogs abscess tooth fixed even though she recommended you to dope who is probably on drugs. And even though she could have at lanced it two months ago rather than letting a head infection fester that could literally kill me dog. Why couldn't she lance my dogs abscess on December 28? (Of course she could. It's super weird that she would let a dog walk out her office with a face abscess and not even drain it... )Why would she have him sit in horrific pain for two months? Dr. Moore's office never once called me in the last two months to even see if my dog was OK or if we had been seen by a doctor - but she admitted to me today that she knew that my dog was in need of dire help in December - she told me this to my face today... I guess because I'm poor, she just didn't care? Then today they were mad at me for being upset because my dog has now had an abscessed tooth for 2 1/2 months that I came to her for help for originally 2 1/2 months ago.. she and her staff literally blamed me... But I'm a layperson, it's literally her job to help dogs in need... even if she thinks I'm a b**** for being assertive and asking too many questions, the doctor and her staff all admitted to me today they let my dog leave her office with a huge abbcesd tooth even though he needs major help... That seems pretty callous. Oh and Dr. Moore came out and scolded me and put me down, and then told me I should give her staff a good review because they stay after 5 PM all the time to help.. oye, but they don't seem to check up on patients or see if they're dead or alive.. so sorry no good reviews for doctors who would knowingly let a poor dog sit with huge puss pockets in their face for two months and never even see if the dog still alive.. I can't give a good review to a doctor that would allow that to happen to a dog. My poor little Larry. He didn't deserve to be treated so shitty...

Great small veterinary practice in downtown Ventura. Dr. Moore is very experienced and great at discussing animal needs/concerns to make sure our animal family members are well taken care of.

Dr. Moore is also great with birds. My African Grey Parrot got a respiratory infection.Dr. Moore was so knowledgeable about Amy's bird care.As a parrot owner I could tell she had al lot of experience the way she handle Amy in picking her up and holding her, which sometimes is not a easy task with birds. Please do not hesitate to take your bird there when you need care.Just routine nails and wing clipping is very reasonable

Dr Moore spent a full 30 minutes with my cat, asking detailed questions and getting to know him on our first visit. My cat was actually purring under her touch! All of my pets have hated going to the vet, so seeing my anxious cat purring with Dr Moore was very reassuring. Dr Moore was able to get to the root of some issues after that initial visit that two other vets were unable to because of her detailed and thorough approach. I highly recommend her!

They kept their appointment time, not a long wait. She and crew exhibited real interest in my dog and his problem, even though it took most of the staff to hold him tight.Great communication.

We just moved into the area in July and the first thing we did was find a vet for our 12 year old standard golden doodle. He was having some issues for a while before we moved but it wasn't until we found Dr. Moore. She got to the root of his issues. Unfortunately he required surgery but he made it through ok. We are now looking at some issues that older pup are bound to go through and this time is really hard for us. But from the moment we met Dr. Moore and her wonderful, caring staff we knew we were in the right place. It says a lot when your pup is excited to see them as much as they seem to want to see him. I would definitely recommend them and if we decide to add another pup to our lives that's where we will take them.

Dr. Moore and her staff are great with my ragdoll cat. Dr. Moore is experienced and thoughtful about his care, which I really appreciate. Whenever I use the messaging app, someone always responds promptly. Overall, I feel like Dr. Moore and her staff really love their jobs and care about all of the animals in their care.

I really love that you can sit on the porch and watch through the screen during your friend's exam. There are plenty of shops and restaurants around if your friend will be there a while so you don't have to wait in the parking lot. Staff is friendly and wear masks ??

I brought my little dog to Dr Moore last month. She's amazing with my dog, answering all my questions and she's honest about what Piper actually needed. I strongly refer anyone who cares about their pets to use Moore Veterinary

i've been bringing my pets to dr. moore for over a decade now, and the level of care they receive there is exceptional; i won't take them anywhere else. dr. moore and everyone who works there are as kind as they are thorough and responsive. i can't recommend moore veterinary care enough. it feels more like community than a clinic.

I can not imagine that my Eclectus parrot "Carmen" could have gotten any better care than she did with Dr. Moore and her wonderful staff. I called over 25 vet offices last night in Los Angeles, Orange, and Ventura County when my family pet started bleeding from her vent. I got either, we don't take new patients or we don't do birds. My family was in tears. We did get a message from Dr. Moore's office asking if we were able to find a local vet. The only one that gave us any hope. Our parrot isn't the friendliest of birds, but loved Dr. Moore and her staff immediately. The cost was minimal compared to the time she spent with us and Carmen. She is a caring compassionate professional and I would give her six stars if it were available. Her office is over an hour drive and she is our new Vet for Carmen.
