Phil was amazing after I placed my online order. Before just declaring it out of stock, he contacted the manufacturer as well to figure out if he could get it somewhere else. When unable to find it, he worked with me to find the next best alternative paying attention to my specific needs and making adjustments appropriately. All the "extra work" wasn't extra for him - just business as usual. Highly recommend!

One of best investments I’ve made in triathlon. Over the last year I’ve worked with Phil to get a really comfortable, sustainable, good fit. Further, he really goes the extra mile, to dial in the fit. Although sometimes the fit session can get a bit long, it’s all worthwhile in the end. And, he very knowledgeable about the sport, and never is upselling you, or making you feel less than, in a very expensive/elite type sport. Other fitters seem always too quick to sell you something. He’s also fit me on the mtb, and same thing: dialed in! Thanks so much, and sorry it took me so long to write this review.

I’ve had work done on our bikes before & Phil always did a great job. Then one day I was having a conversation with him about my old (1980’s) Cannondale that had seen better days and I had taken to other shops that couldn’t find the parts needed to get it back to original condition. Well I can tell you that Hypercat is the place for your vintage bike. Phil brought my beloved Cannondale back to its former glory. It shifts. It brakes. It’s shiny!!! Photo attached. Boy am I happy. Still bringing my newer bike here also.

Went in to talk about a bike fitting. Phillip assisted me and I appreciate the time he spent discussing the process and expected outcome. Based on this interaction I plan to schedule a bike fit with Hypercat Cycleworks.

I went in to get my first road bike serviced because there was something off with the shifting. Philip is amazing at explaining pretty much every question you have about your bike and is very honest. Price was very good and reasonable, the bike worked perfectly and I loved my service. I then got a new road bike on offer up and took it straight to him so he can check everything out left it on sat got it back on Tuesday and the bike is perfect. Thanks again Philip!

Went to Hypercat Cycleworks yesterday to get a rebuild kit for my tire pump (great price on that by the way) and my wife mentioned the fit issues she was having on one of her bikes. The owner walked us through some changes we could make to improve the fit and explained the use of chamois cream. Bought some chamois cream and made some changes as recommended yesterday. My wife was so happy during our ride this morning! She actually enjoyed riding her cross bike. Thank you for taking the time to help us come up with a solution.

Phil recently did a component upgrade on my aging Bianchi. Went from 10 speed Shimano to 11 speed Campy. Finding the necessary parts during the current supply shortages was very difficult. Phil worked tirelessly to track down the parts to complete the conversion. During the conversion, Phil also went through parts not being changed out including the hubs, headset, etc and made sure everything was good to go. My bike now shifts so smoothly and I have additional gearing to help with those steep climbs. Phil was recently recognized as the best retail store in the western state area by an industry group. Check out the huge trophy at his shop. I strongly recommend that you patronize his shop.

I have been hanging out in bike shops my entire life. Some of my best memories as a kid are hanging with my dad in our local shop and Listening to him talk bikes and life with the shop owners, mechanics, sales folks. A bike shop should provide access to the obvious; quality parts and top notch repair services, but the best shops also provide a window into the culture and community that goes with truly passionate cyclists. Hypercat is exactly that kind of place. The moment you walk in, the collection of obscure bikes decorating the walls reminds You that this place is not just a bike shop; it's a place for bike culture. Phil has an intimate understanding of all facets of the sport and the community surrounding it. His knowledge base is downright mind blowing. His technical abilities are some of the best I have ever seen. And he's honest, fair, and kind. He will chat you up with scientific precision about your builds and repairs, weather it's on your classic steel commuter or your fully dialed carbon race machine. And in the same breathe he would be happy to chat about his kids, fishing, and just life. This is a real bike shop with soul and unmatched service. I recommend hypercat for Every cycling or triathlon related needs you may have.

I drive from Tarzana to Ventura for Phil. He's a very special guy, great heart, totally honest, and highly skilled. He spends as much time as you need. He loves his work. His wife is a former pro athlete. He's an athlete. A perfect combination! I am a triathlete with several bikes and today I'm here with a friends bike. I pass many shops to get here and I do it with joy. I can't say enough about Hyoercat! Thank you Phil!

Everyone think's they are mechanically inclined to get a used bike and fix it themselves. Hahaha... yeah, no. That all comes with experience. Doesn't matter if you have surgeon or mechanic hands. Phil at Hypercat has plenty of both. Man has been in the game for a while and super knowledgeable and kind enough to share information to us plebians. In me and my friend group, we all picked up cycling and thought no big deal, we work on cars and youtube is there. We got this. Um, sort of. Little things are no problem. On the other end, some stuff that seem like a little thing becomes big problem. When we bring our problem to Phil, he fixes that issue with ease and explains to us what you should look for. He isn't only fixing our bike, he is educating us. He even mentioned he wants to bring back classes once covid is done. This guy so humble, he is willing to teach people how to fix or build your bike when that is something he could easily not do and make money off a customer. I picked up a used franken bike that road fine but needed some work. Quickly turned into needing a lot of work after going for a couple of rides. Bike was fixed while retaining the same parts (hooray Campy for rebuildable shifters!) and went out and did 85 miles the next ride. Do yourself a favor and visit this shop. Get stoked and walk out learning something new. I'll be back to further support this business!

Rachel and Phil are your best bike gal and guy in SoCal. From price to technical expertise to friendliness there’s no one better. Being former pro athletes they are - simply put - in the know.
