I’d give 0 stars if I could. The entire experience was by far the worst car rental I’ve ever had. I showed up via Uber to pick up a EV. They informed me the ev was on 9% and there was nothing they could do about it. After learning there’s no other cars I decided to take it and charge it only to realize the car was filthy inside and out, clearly returned without an inspection. Their solution was to do a quick vacuum but I’d had enough and asked for a refund to which they complied. Hertz should close this trailer location down and start over with some professionals. If you can’t manage car turn arounds and proper customer service your destroying your reputation.

I’ve rented from Hertz Ventura location for many years. I’m so glad that they’re here. For awhile they had a suboptimal local being ousted by Crown Dodge Chrysler Jeep. Good thing is they’re now in their new digs. They’re a stellar hard working crew. Thank you Omatseyin for your stellar customer service. I had the best experience ever. You went over the top to ensure I was taken care of. I had fun in the Tesla 3. It was my first electric car experience. I love that you and your staff have a room with a view; it’s great for us customers too.

I had a wonderful experience with hertz in ventura. I was very impressed with the service I received. I would definitely rent from this location for all my car rental needs.

If I could give them a one star I would. Kia only using them so we are forced to use them. The car given smells horrible(cigarettes), My Godson has asthma causing it to flare up. I have called several times and been left on hold. Complete unacceptable!!

This was the worst customer service I have seen. The manager was so rude and condescending and unhelpful , I could not understand how he was even there . the other was on his personal cell the whole time nd was just as unhelpful. Hertz should be shut down and canceled period with all the financial scandal asserted I would advice no one to get there rental cars from here.

Rented a long range electric vehicle. Once I arrived they did not have the car I reserved. Was then told to call a number to cancel. To try and make it easier for them... I asked if there was another long range electric car to take. They put me in a chevy bolt that wasn't long range, nor was it charged all the way!!!!! This isn't the first hertz rental that has given me trouble. Officially NEVER renting from Hertz again. Lousy customer service and no care at all for people trying to rent a vehicle.

Hertz has been a nightmare. Both the LAX and the Ventura locations. It looks like the company is bankrupt.. From the abandoned and unkempt look to their lot to the 100% lack of customer service. The LAX location left my significant other and I stranded and the Ventura location looked like it was shelled out. The workers were more concerned with getting off the clock then they were trying to help us get our rental. This whole experience was a frustrating and bizarre muppet nightmare. Terrifying and stupid.

I had an unexpected vehicle repair and needed a vehicle for a few days. I requested the Manager's Special EV since I needed a car to use locally. The make and model is at the discretion of the manager and availability. I would not recommend selecting that option if you are going on a road trip and/or do not have much experience with a variety of EVs and their charging features. I recommend a Hertz account and booking online with a credit card on file. Check in was quick and had the keys in hand in about 10 minutes for Polestar 2 for 3 days for $35 each day.Someone previously set the maximum charging to 60% which explained why the vehicle was charged to that level despite staff plugging in the vehicle overnight. I went to the Electrify America station at the Pacific View Mall to get to 80% charge. Unfortunately charging was at a max rate of 58 kW out of the 133 kW the vehicle is capable of, so it took longer than expected.I found it disappointing/disturbing that during the Ventura Hertz location remodel that a restroom was not made available onsite for employees or customers. During pickup, I saw an elderly customer ask for a restroom but the employee stated that none was available due to construction and they had to go to Paradise Chevrolet about a 5-minute walk and 1/4 mile across the street. I learned that both employees and customers had to go offsite. While this is a temporary situation, it was unclear to the employee how long the remodel would last and the restroom situation would last. I imagine this would be frustrating for employees and customers and hope this situation improves.

Do NOT rent a vehicle from this location. The employees at the rental department, particularly the larger gentleman who sits in the office, were extremely rude and had horrible customer service. I don't want to sound like a Karen, but if I could give this place 0 stars I would because of how I was treated.

Hertz has changed over the years. As a corporate entity they were once the best. Sadly they have not been up to standard in the past 5 years. The London Hertz used to be my regular for hundreds of rentals, but I stopped using them after they messed up my rental twice. I have had similar issues with Hertz in number of locations. I rent A LOT! However, this Hertz branch has been truly amazing. It has surpassed EVERY Hertz branch I have been using. Despite Hertz being punished by their new strange corporate policies and insane customer service chat system, Omatseyin and his colleague at this branch do everything they can to solve my (multiple) problems over the last 5 rentals. The guys at Ventura have proved time and time again to be the best local team there is. I rate Hertz fairly low these days, but I give the guys in Ventura 5 stars because they try so hard, and they do their best by me EVERY time. Don't punish the locals because their corporate office lets them down. Understaffed and over-worked... these guys deserve a medal and always greet me with a smile! Thank-you guys... you have restored my faith in Hertz (Gold member for YEARS) and I will always come back ONLY to this branch

I have been with Hertz since the 90s. They used to be the best there is in customer service. I have been a good member for a long time. The company has gone downhill severely in the past few years. Their online messaging system is designed to give you conflicting information about your problem and the people don't read the messages. The customer service people don't understand simple English and tell me call emergency roadside assistance and then they say call customer service. I spent hours on the phone going back and forth. If I were the CEO of Hertz I would love to know this. HOWEVER Omateseyin Edah at the Hertz branch in Ventura is a shining light in the darkness. He is dealing with a corporate system that is falling down around him. He does amazing work and great customer service despite the acknowledged tragic failings of his corporate system. If Hertz had more people like him, Hertz would be in top Again. Let us not blame Hertz corporate nightmares for the people who try and do their best. 5 stars for Omatseyin. He saved the day for me from a car rental that was disastrous. I miss the old Hertz. Will definitely rent again at Ventura HLE!!!

I've been a regular customer at this location. I never had an issue with their customer service. If it's busy, they will always let me people who are waiting in line to be patient and will get assistance as soon as possible.

Made a reservation and ubered to Hertz at 8:30am to pickup a vehicle to just have them tell me they don’t have any vehicles at all. No prior warning, no phone call to let me know they have no vehicles, and no apology. Probably one of the worst experiences I’ve had with renting a vehicle. Manager didn’t offer any apologies or solutions. He overall was just rude. He blamed me for not making the reservation sooner. I made the reservation the day prior! Unfortunately I have no control when my car is going to break down and I’m going to need a rental! The other employee behind the counter was apathetic and stoned. The whole setback made me an hour late for work. Ended up going to Enterprise instead, and got a vehicle from them. Avoid Hertz at all costs

Staff really nice / accommodating they let me wait inside didn't let me out in the rain even though it was past 5 thanks guys!
