Value for price, you cannot go wrong. The views are fantastic. It's very relaxing to be here. The on site restaurant has an approachable wine list with very reasonable bottle prices. Every member of staff was kind, professional, and really a joy to interact with. These days, you almost never get customer service like this. It's really a rare treat. The continental breakfast offerings were better than many hotels in this price range and very fresh. The only cons are that the hotel is in need of a refresh and there were a lot of deferred repairs needed. Our room had a gorgeous view and a huge and clean Jacuzzi tub. However the mattress needed to be replaced, the shades and curtains need to be cleaned or replaced, the ceiling fan needed repairs. I hope this place can hang on and do highly recommend it for a romantic getaway or a great place to come for some peaceful views.

What a beautiful spot! The room is nothing fancy and would do great by a deep cleaning of drapes, window sills and things like that. The bed was clean and comfy as well as the bathroom. The view is absolutely gorgeous. The service… every single person we interacted with was very kind and helpful. The food at the restaurant was yum! I look forward to spending the night here once in a while!!

The Cliff House Inn has an amazing cottage by the sea feel to it.We had a double date overnight for my parents 47th anniversary and we had a wonderful time. The perfect cocktail sunset followed by a yummy dinner at the Shoals! The lamb was incredible! My mouth is watering just thinking about it!And we all slept like babies with the windows cracked to hear the lullaby of the sea.We highly recommend this gem of a place if you are looking for a peaceful getaway.Thank you Cliff House Inn for the wonderful experience.Merry Christmas!

I was hesitant in writing this review. I don't know if the 1 star reviews are done on purpose to gatekeep this place but I really didn't want to give a review because I don't want it ruined by influencers lol. To be honest it's not for the "influencer" type anyway. This is for someone that wants to get away and disconnect from the busy life and appreciate and enjoy the beauty of the ocean. This place is wonderful and I am now planning to come here again. I was able to lounge by the pool and watch the ocean for hours. It was so calming. Watching ¿pelican? type birds dive for fish, family of dolphins swimming by and the gorgeous sunset. What's there not to like!?!? The bad reviewers were so fixated on the lack of luxuries in their room, that they completely missed what they did have right in front of them! Yes the rooms are outdated but honestly I find them quaint and charming. I refuse to live in the negative and I really found all the positive in this place. It's not a luxury hotel, it has more of a grandmas cottage feel and I don't find it bad . One person said the only extra outlet is in the ceiling. Yes there's one on the ceiling but there's extra ones in the alarm clock (shown in pics). It has extra outlets and usb ports. I went when the weather was perfect. So the ceiling fan was more than enough to keep me satisfied. There isn't AC but like I said it wasn't an issue and the ceiling fan was good. The towels could probably be updated. They were on the crusty side but luckily some were soft. Other than that, I think everything was good. Hair dryer, hangers, soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, cotton balls, q-tips and tissue were provided. The restaurant is superb! Not only are all the staff absolutely friendly but the food is just phenomenal. What I found to be the best was the fact that the chef was more than willing to accommodate my allium intolerance. It's so difficult having that intolerance and I usually just ask what I can and can't have but the server said they had no problem making everything without garlic and onion. Of course there are some items that had marinades or compotes that had those ingredients but they replaced it with whatever they could. The food was delicious and it was greatly appreciated that I wasn't limited on what to eat. Their brunch food was just as good and the dessert was so yummy. Even if you don't want to stay at the hotel, please stop by for brunch or dinner. It's soooo worth it! Especially with that ocean view! The front desk staff were sooo nice and soooo accommodating. I loved that we are able to text them when we need something. Sometimes they're on break or there's a switch in staff, so they won't answer it right away but the wait time isn't that bad. Parking wasn't an issue for me and it felt really safe there. There's also a trail you can bike or walk on too. If you guys choose to go, please appreciate all the good in this place and what it has to offer. It's truly wonderful. If you're a pretentious and self-entitled influencer that can't enjoy living in the moment, then do us all a favor and don't go here and ruin it for the rest of us.

Since i was only in the hotel/restaurant for about 6 hours to beat the pre thanksgiving traffic, i will combine the restaurant and hotel. The hotel is a little gem midway between Montecito and Ventura. Literally right off the highway. Incredible views and part of it is Shoals restaurant that has the same views and wonderful food. Lovely service and equally fine menu of fish to steak to matching fantastic sauces. Wine list and small but all you need liquor selection. For me it was a nice Makers Mark, fresh pea soup with ham and the swordfish special. Ok and the crazy good cheesecake! A perfect weekend or vacation getaway!!!

I am obsessed with this gem! Spectacular charm and CANNOT BEAT THE VIEWS AND YOU ARE ON THE OCEAN! Listening to the waves as you sleep! I was sadly only here for one night and leaving super early. Amanda not only came and helped me with my window (I hate asking for help but have a bad elbow and she was happy to help and right then!)Also know ing I wasn’t going to make the breakfast because I had to work so early she came and brought me a to go package so I had some food before work! That honestly meant the world to me because then I did not have to wake up any earlier to stop somewhere. She went above and beyond. Can’t wait to come back when I can stay longer !

You're paying for the location, not the room. The location is fantastic, RIGHT on the water with amazing views. You can hear the ocean while you sleep. The cost is justified by this alone. The room was comfortable but had some issues. My curtains were moldy and there isnt any sound insulation.Staff is kind and knowledgeable. It's not a place just to sleep during a road trip. You'll want to spend part of the day here to make it worth the cost.

We stayed one night which led us to having a great view of the coast! The room was a little dated but was clean and spacious. Great service from staff, we will be coming back.

Two stars for the view and the fact that there's a restaurant on site. Room is very dated. There is no air conditioning, so you have to open up all windows, which then, you have people walking by looking in your room and that's very uncomfortable. We had to close up the window to sleep, so you know people won't be walking by looking at you sleeping. There are no stores even close, so make sure to bring food and drinks with you, because they were out of bottled water in their vending machine.
